A great place to stay in Chau Doc!”
I had a really great stay in Chau Doc, and one of the reasons is because I stayed at this hotel! First of all, the location was really great. It's in the center, close to the market located exactly next to Jollibee. I arrived later in the evening, and I didn't even have to walk too far for dinner at the time. And it's also walking distance to some other eateries around the city as well. Faishal, the staff at the hotel, was super helpful! He helped me from the time I checked in to the day I left to check out. He also helped me arrange the bike to get around. I can't imagine how I'd do without him. I'd totally recommend this hotel to anyone planning to go to Chau Doc, it's really valuable for a great stay in town!

Thank Goodness for the Hai Chau!”
Arriving by ferry from Phnom Penh, Chau Doc comes as a bit of a shock. Our cool, quiet, clean room is a pristine white HEAVEN - and there is the balcony as requested that allows one to observe the goings on in the streets below. And the Hai Chau has a LIFT!!!! Amazing! And there is the personal welcome sign at reception - a truly caring touch. And they do care - arranged an early morning visit for us to the floating market and fish "farms". And a visit to the Muslim community. And finally after two nights we found ourselves at the bus station seemingly on the outskirts of town for a bus to Saigon but the booking office would not accept dollars. And who came to our rescue? The young chap from reception at the Hai Chau Hotel! Thank you!.... for changing our dollars, for the directions, and whatever else we wanted written down in Vietnamese. We can recommend this hotel highly - the rates are reasonable, everywhere spotless and of a high standard, and they even include a basic breakfast.

Clean,safety and quite”
For small city, Chau Doc, highly recommending Hai Chau hotel in which is clean, safety and quite. It neares the city Chau Doc main market and many traveling places. Such as tours on river, other city and other countries from their booking on recommentation. Not fancy, beautiful nor any modernized looks. Thus, good hotel as not very modernized good nor very extremed bad in everything.

Great value”
Our stay in Hai Chau was the most resonably priced hotel that we stayed in during our trip through Cambodia and Vietnam. We were delighted with Hai Chau and can't recommend it highly enough for value, staff and cleanliness. If we pass this way we will certainly be back and we have already recommended it to friends who are also traveling to Chau Doc.

Comfortable hotel with a great manager and staff”
there is not a huge choice when it comes to staying in chau doc but if you want a clean, comfortable room with a decent breakfast at a very affordable price then you can't go wrong with the hai chau. we found the manager to be very helpful and obliging; he arranged our onward travel to ho chi minh city by bus and even turned up at the bus station to make sure we weren't overcharged.

Excellent hotel for the price”
We only stayed here for one night as we had thought that Chau Doc was only a small town with nothing much to offer. It's actually quite large, and a lovely town with plenty of sights to see, such as a floating village. We wished we had stayed longer, especially since the hotel was unexpectedly lovely. Our room was large and airy, with huge windows and a balcony overlooking the busy street below. We were very comfortable - great bathroom, big bed, tea and coffee making facilities, and strong wifi. The staff were excellent, and one of them even accompanied us to the bus stop the next day to ensure that we bought the correct tickets to Ho Chi Minh City. If there is any downside to this hotel, it's that the small lobby is a bit cramped because it also doubles as the dining room for breakfast the next day.

Clean & simple”
We were not expecting too much from the Hai Chau as we'd been staying in slightly more pricey hotels for most of our trip, but Chau Doc didn't have much in the mid-range, so for 1 night we opted for the Hai Chau (rather than the Victoria at the top of the scale). Although the staff didn't speak much English they made us feel very welcome with a drink on arrival & we were shown to a clean, simple room - nothing flash, but the bed was comfy & the shower was good. We departed early for a trip the following morning & the hotel kindly provided an early breakfast (with proper French baguette!). They sent us on our way with a smile & bottles of water (at no extra charge).

Transit Stopover”
We had booked for one night planning to take a tour through to Ho Chi Minh City. Having had difficulty getting any tour response online and encountering bad reviews on tours, we booked a second night there. The hotel receptionist booked a local tour of the river and environs for the morning and a motor bike tour of the temples and pagodas plus the sunset for the afternoon. He also organised our bus trip from Chau Doc to Ho Chi Minh City. It was one of our highlights of our trip to Viet Nam.

great hotel, friendly staff, delicious food”
Very good location for boat transfer to Cambodia. The staff were great - very funny male receptionist made us laugh every day! the little restaurant in reception was a godsend as chau doc has limited tourist places to eat. The food was freshly cooked, served hot and delicious. good prices too! The room was small but ok - the beds were as in a lots of places very hard - the bathroom had a shower cubical with a powerful hot shower. The room was quiet as the town sleeps around 11pm - we enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

Nice hotel and the staff is very friendly and kind”
The hotel is new. Bathrooms are very spacious and nice. The reception and restaurant staff are very kind and friendly. You can organise small size tours through the hotel. When we asked about the tours, all arrangements were done immediately. The hotel has a good restaurant, and the breakfast is included in the price. The hotel is located on the corner, so it is fun to sit there in the evenings and watch the traffic on the intersection. We would definitely stay here again if we are in Chau Doc.

A friendly hotel in a great location”
We had a great stay at Hai Chau. Chau Doc is a bustling, town with most hotels around the market, we were lucky to be central but away from the noise! We did a couple of the hotel trips which were good value for money. They efficiently organised our onward travel

Good basic hotel”
This was a centrally located basic but decent hotel in Chau Doc. The breakfast was good, and the staff friendly, plus they made us feel very welcome by having a welcome sign with our names on when we arrived there! The only down was the side of the room. There were 3 of us so we booked into a superior twin, which had 2 double beds. The room was obviously only made for 1 bed though - the other was just lied up in front of it in space at the foot of the bed - the aircon and fan were above the other bed, so if you sleep in the second bed you get very hot. But it was decent for one night.

Comfortable, friendly and well situated.”
I found the Hai Chau Hotel to be a pleasant place to break up a journey by motorcycle around the Mekong Delta. The hotel was very comfortable, with crisp, clean linen and powerful, hot showers, both a God-send after a day on the bike! The hotel is within walking distance of nearby restaurants and cafés, while there's a motorcycle mechanic just across the road if you're travelling by that medium. The staff are helpful and friendly, all too happy to have a chat or offer advice on things to see. I was taking an unorthodox route back to Saigon and the chap behind the counter advised me of a suitable route which also allowed me to see nearby Cham mosques and villages. The breakfast is fine and there's also an extensive menu for lunch and dinner if you don't wish to venture out. The only drawback was finding the place. The street name provided by Agoda is no longer the actual name, so consult Lonely Planet if you're in doubt, for it has the proper name (I don't have the actual name to hand. Sorry!) All in all, a pleasant place to stay and well worth the price.

Perfect for what I was looking for”
i found hai chau when i was on my way back from the delta to phnom penh and in need of a place for a night. this was an excellent choice as my room was clean and spotless, the location was central (walking distance to river and market and 5 minute cyclo to the boat) and hospitality was delightful. at first, the internet didn't work in my room and the downstairs clerk came about 6 minutes after i called and connected it for me. the bathroom had a large shower, my room had a little balcony and there was a small table and chairs for eating dinner from the downstairs restaurant (which delivers to the room) or drinking morning coffee. for the price, it was excellent value and i would stay here again.

Lovely hotel with excelent helpful stuff!”
We stayed in large room equipped with big double bed and very comfortable bathroom. The young (26 years old)manager is very kind and helpful. He arranged for us a great tour to the bird nature reserve outside Chau Doc and the famous hill for sunset viewing, a tour that changed our thoughts on this small town.

Nothing wrong with it...”
a fine place to stay for a night or 2, not sure why anyone would stay there longer... chau doc is a big city on the river (like countless others in vietnam) and the hotel was fine. very helpful staff with good english.

Pleasant Stay”
We arrived at Hai Chau at a low point of our journey (the local mini- van we caught from Can Tho to Chau Doc threw us out before reaching the last stop and we had to walk the remaining 1 hour to the hotel) but meeting Bon who spoke perfect English and insisted we go to the room to relax and shower before completing check-in formalities, was a great eg of Vietnamese warmth. Once clean, we completed check-in and were asked to keep our passports with him due to police checks at night. This practice of keeping passports with reception staff is customary in Vietnam, but we have never done it and instead always requested the staff to call our room when the police come so we can show them our passports ourselves as we are uneasy about handing over our most important identity doc to anyone. The room was spacious with a little tea table, 2 chairs, a huge mirror, bedside tables and a balcony overlooking the busy street below. Breakfast was a choice of eggs made to order. No buffet here but fresh and filling food. For the price paid, I was very happy. After breakfast we left early to take the speed boat to PP

Large, clean, comfortable rooms with helpful staff”
We entered Vietnam by boat from Phnom Penh and Chau Doc was our first taste of the country. The good quality rooms and pleasant staff help made for an easy transition and introduction to Vietnam.

Island of relax in this messy town”
Chau Doc is a really messy town with anything interesting for a tourist. This hotel was like a paradise after the messy streets of Chau Doc :) Rooms was very basic but still there was everything I needed. Staff was helpful in.irganizing a boat to Cambodia. The breakfast was disappointing, though. Also, there was a karaoke bar just in front of the hotel so it was loud (although the "party" finishef early)
