Best homestay !!”
We had a great Time at hai dang homestay ! The family is very welcoming and generous. She cooked for us local specialities and we shared memorable moments with the whole family. She offered to reserve our bus for Hué and helped us find a great adresse for body massage. The location is perfect and the proximity with the family helped us to discover the Vietnam culture ! Thanks again !!

Can Not recommend ,but nice balcony with riverview”
We stood one night and had a very nice View on the River. You can Walk to maintown within 20 minutes. At nighttime it was very noisy, and early in the morning ( Starting before 5 am !) We Had to listen to the noise comming from the Family to start in their day. So we stayed awake very early and could Not Recovery. The door to our room was Not working good, it was Not possible to Look and unlook the door probanly - the owner was not willing to fix this Problem and we lost another 2 hours waiting ..... We cannot recommend to stay there, the price is Low but you will Not get the Recovery you need . The room.is big and has a balcony with riverview.

Nice riverside homestay”
Our stay was very nice in this homestay. We had the view of the river from the balcony. Room was big, and clean, with hot water shower. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom sometimes smelled awful, but we poured some water then it was fine. Breakfast was delicious and changed every day. You can also have other meals if you want for lunch or dinner. Owners are kind people, they can help you with tickets. You can refill your water bottle. Laundry is available. Location is good enough to walk to the city center (15 mins). You have to take into account that the family lives in the house, so it can be noisy in rhe morning.

We’d love this homestay in Hoi an, the location is perfect , a quite street but super close to the markets etc. Room had everything you need plus balcony. Lovely family !! Biggest plus , I forgot my passport and realised on the way to Hanoi. We called her and she promised to send it to my hostel via express at the next day! What she did and even payed for it, also stayed in contact with me through the time! So thankful she absolutely saved me

avoid this homestay ”
Avoid this homestay! My stay at Hai Dang homestay was very ordinary. English is not widely spoken in the house which can make things very confusing. As it is a homestay you are staying is the same house of the hosting family and are subjected to the noises from them. We were woken up every morning by someone coughing up phlegm at 5 am and then all of the cooking noises from the family as they begin their day. We were also locked out one night and had to call the family to let us in as the key you are given does not work in the front door. The owner also does not know personal space and let herself into our room without knocking when we were in it and basically forced us to check out at 9am when the stated checkout time is 12pm (lunch time). The room is big, the bed is okay. None of the toiletries advertised were available in the room. Had to ask the owner for a bin for toilet paper by acting it out and then had to leave it in the hallway so it would be emptied. The door to the room had large glass panels on them which let in light from the hall, making the room very bright at night. I was a little afraid to turn off the lights in case someone else returned later to the homestay and required them. The shower had very little water pressure it was unable to come out of the shower head forcing you to shower by sitting on the floor under a tap. The basin in the bathroom was about to fall off the wall and had broken away from the drain meaning it basically drained to the floor wetting your feet each time you used it. The shower towels provided were the size of a postage stamp and were not changed the entire length of the stay (4 days) and ended up with a very musty smell. With the limited English it was hard to arrange for new towels. The fridge was very mouldy and we did not want to use it. The included breakfast was 2 eggs, 3 slices of tomato and cucumber and a baguette. The eggs were rather tasteless, you would be better eating out for breakfast. We asked to use the

Stay elsewhere...”
The room was dirty, with rubbish left on the floor, I had to clean out the fridge myself as it had mould inside, the shower pressure was non-existent, no toiletries provided as stated, not even a bin for the toilet paper we provided and emptied our own bag! The mould spots and dirty marks on the walls gave the room an overall grimy feeling, uncomfortable pillows and bed. The lights in the hallway/stairwell stayed on all night and having a glass window on the door meant the room never got dark. Used the crappy bikes for the day and were told at check out we had to pay for them! The family also woke up super early and made so much noise. The worst was the lack of privacy, we were laying in bed reading one of ladies (and a random guy) walked in and out of our room a number of times and proceeded to look at something in the bathroom without knocking or saying anything. The bathroom sink also leaked badly out the bottom, the sticky tape repair obviously not doing the trick. We were sitting in our room finalizing our bags at 9.00am and the lady walked in and asked for our key, checkout is 12.00. Lack of English is no excuse for rudeness. There has been no care or attempt taken to keep the property in good repair. For $10 USD you can find way better properties to stay. The location is the only thing going for it.

Nice, simple accomodation”
I Stayed here on my first night in Hoi An after taking the bus from Quy Nhon. The staff are friendly and the accommodation is clean. The bed is a typical thin mattress on wooden slats that serves it's purpose but is slightly below what I would call comfortable. A short walk from Old Town down a relatively quite street. It is a great place if you are a solo traveller and you want a break from a dorm room without breaking the bank.

Awkward stay”
We arrived at the home stay and they had used our room for somebody else so we stayed in their room with only a fan. Our second night we had the room we payed for and it was much better. They didn't speak much English but we didn't have many requests so this wasn't a problem. We booked through Agoda but it stated we pay at the homestay. When she converted it to dong we ended up paying slightly more than planed.

Pricey”
First of all, the bedrooms dont have en-suite bathrooms and so £8/night was a bit steep I think. Had better deals with en-suites. They do laundry but dont have tumble dryer so our clothes was still wet after 2 days and consequently stinky. It tends to rain a lot in this area and so tumble dryer would be good. Its a home stay so dont expect quiet mornings as locals get up early and dont think their guests might be phased by a lous radio or busy kitchen noise at 4:30am. Also nobody spoke english and so geting a map or understanding that we needed laundry done was an incredible struggle despite us using several online translators and the international sign language. Wouldnt stay agan.

Real Homestay”
Our stay at Hai Dang was lovely. Nice Vietnamese breakfast each morning, served on the terrace with the river passing by, very close to the old town, the hosts happily organised bicycles for us, took me to an excellent value local goldsmith to have my wedding ring remade and generally catered to any request we had. The location really was excellent, very quiet with a lovely clean, light filled room with a bathroom, fridge and decent TV. The whole family (Grandma, Grandpa, Aunty, Mum, Dad and children) were happy, good natured and welcoming. I couldn't recommend the Hai Dang (Lighthouse) Homestay more highly. Great value for money!
