Exceptional”
The Guesthouse is on the top of a very steep hill, so if you have large luggage like I did, don't bring it with you! At the Hakone train station, you have the option of sending you luggage to the guesthouse directly (and back when you leave). Use that option instead. The receptionist Ai-san was super cheerful and so very very nice! She gave many recommendations for what I could do and even made me a delicious breakfast! The mini onsen there was super cute and cosy. I didn't have time to try it since I was too tired, but would recommend. The place was very tidy and clean.

Awesome staff, great room; location might be a bit hard to find ”
The host lady is a great cook! Totally enjoy the omelette rice she made for my dinner. The bar/reception area is a great place for having a drink and conversation with other travelers as well as the hosts. One thing that the guesthouse can do better is to provide tips on how to get to them. If you are not driving, you will have to walk to the guesthouse from Kowakidani Train station via a shortcut (which might be easy to miss for first timer, and not recommended if you carry lots of luggage) or via a bus stop coming from Hakone-Yumoto station. If you choose to access the guesthouse by bus, the stop is just a few minutes walk uphill (might be the easier route if you have big luggages).

Best stay ever!”
I travelled solo to Hakone and stayed here for 2 nights. It was really relaxing, super clean, I love the indoor hot bath. The only meh part was it's a bit far from the convenient store and the restaurants around are on the expensive side for me.. but the food that the owner makes are really good! Would stay here again if I'm ever in Hakone

Just right for solo traveler”
But i'm not here as a solo traveler. I went here with my fiance and booked for private room. It was nice, clean, private as it was the only room upstairs. It was right in front of the wooden deck where you can see stars but sadly i was there when it was foggy. Beside my room there is a train rail so it was kinda noisy but they offer free earplug (i didn't use it cause i can sleep with loud sounds). You have to hike a lil bit to get in here as the guesthouse is kinda on top of the hill and not close to any restaurants or market and you have to walk bit from the station so it's not the best for location. Not recommended for many nights especially if you carry big luggage. Surprisingly clean eventhough shared shower but the toilet is just for one person so you have to wait.

Not recommend to bring big luggage”
Location is uphill. If u bring heavy luggage, all the way drag on hill. Hotel surrounding mountain view is nice breathtaking autumn color. Guesthouse built by wooden and there has 2 parts. One side is Resection and bar counter, Female Dormitory, wooden bathtub onsen, roof top view, toilet and shower room. The other part is Mix dormitory (8 partitions cube) and toilet. There has no shower room. The guest have to go other side and take shower.

Wonderful Stay”
We only stayed one night but we wish we were staying longer! The staff were SO lovely, made us feel really welcome and at home. They really went out of their way to help us out with any questions we had about the area. The room itself is basic, futons on the floor, a mirror and drawers, no whistles and bells, but that's all we needed. Very new facilities, shower and toilet excellent. Would recommend to friends! Thanks so much for having us :)

CONVENIENT”
I was in the female dormitory for golden week. The location is value for money for a budget traveler. I liked the one-person onsen tub and the bathrooms and rooms were clean. Location is perfect. Just a couple of minutes from bus and train staions and not far away from Yunessun Spar Resort and Lake Ashi. The location is perfect for a backpacker and the futons were comfy. It was value for money.

Good value for money”
The futon beds were comfortable enough, the rooms smelled a bit of moisture but it was okay. The guest house is very close to the bus station. It's a bit far from the train so need to know where and how to take a bus. It's a bit of a hike from the train station actually which with luggage can be a bit tiring. But the views are great. There's even a trekking trail right across. The ambience of the lobby is super kawai!

Nice and cozy”
Recently reformed building taking shape as a cozy little guesthouse. Friendly staff. Nice little private wooden bathtub (my only criticism is that they need a reservation system for the bathtub during busy times).

Such a cute guesthouse! ”
The staff are quite lovely, and they make a tasty breakfast. There are some great drinks you can order at the bar too! If you are a light sleeper you may have trouble, as the train tracks are fairly close. Earplugs are provided though ^_^ I would definitely go back, especially for the private onset.

Lovely guesthouse with great staff”
Unfortunately the typhoon meant most the guests had to cancel so there wasn't many other people during my stay but the staff were super helpful with telling me what I should see in the area and even made me a vegan dinner :) Would definitely stay there again

Love it!”
Best night in Japan there! The hosts are nice. The wife cooks delicious comfort food. The vibe there is so warm, homey and cozy, with the onsen (it was a little too hot) and the amazing view around the hostel. However, the bed sheet was a bit dusty in the mixed dorm.

Recommendation for backpackers! ”
Friendly host, able to speak fluent English. Location is a little bit difficult to find, but the location is quite convenient. Stay doesn't include breakfast, but you can ask the host to prepare for you.

Good choice.”
Very clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Basic accomodation with a few perks like the hot spring. To get a shower you need to get of the building. The location is not the best possible if you come by train, but close enough to the bus station. Overall, a good choice if you are on a budget.
