Great place!”
We came here for CNY and the hotel staff provided wonderful service for us. It is really a Japanese style hotel and have nice hot spring, dinner and breakfast. Will consider to come again in the future.

Wonderful experience”
The Hakone Shiunso staff were wonderful in every way. The onsen was delightful, the meals delicious, the service excellent. We were able to explore the Hakone area well from this location, which was not far from Hakone-Yamoto and easily accessible by bus.

Good service and enviornment”
The hotel is beside the river, and you can have hot spring outdoor facing a beautiful mountain view. Food is really good quality. And services is excellent. Not many staff can speak English but still can provide a good service. For transportation, you can go to hotel from Hakone-Yumoto directly by bus, only 4 stop and bus stop just in front of the hotel. You can still try taking train but not recommend for anyone bring heavy luggage, because it takes about 10 mins walk.

Excellent”
You can book a private bath for free. In room kaiseki meal is good, though I had had better elsewhere. Room is HUGE. They gave us a room with 2 separate areas, each with 10 tatami mats, so a total of 20 for 2 people plus a seating area near the window. There is not much to do in Hakone Yumoto area, so you had better not stay for more than 3 days. Free one way shuttle to Hakone Yumoto station provided daily.

First stay in Ryokan and great experience”
The staff was very helpful even before our stay giving us information on the luggage delivery service at Hakone-Yumato station so that we could drop off luggage in the morning before exploring the area. The private outdoor bath was worth extra cost but you could be just as satisfied with the included indoor private bath or the shared baths. Dinner and breakfast were both amazing so make sure to start hungry.

Best Experience in Japan”
Pros: 1. Exquisite food, delicately prepared. 2.Clean, spacious and cosy room with private onset 3. Friendly and very helpful staff Cons: 1. Location is not the best (10 min walk to hakone yumoto) 2. Noise from the river (we are OK with it as long as it is not traffic noise.)

good location, onsen”
Hotel is close to the Hakone Yumoto Station. It takes only 5 minutes by a public bus. The good thing about this hotel is that they have both public and private onsen (a Japanese-style hot spring). For a private onsen type, you can book for privately use without any additional costs but only for 40 minutes use (no one will tell you in advance, it’s better to directly e-mail and ask. Otherwise, it won’t be available for you on your stay date). On the other hand, it was my second time staying in Hakone areas, so I compared my previous stay with this hotel. I found out that food and staff (only women) in this hotel are not that nice. Kindly note that 10.30-14.00 everyday; the hotel will be closed for cleaning. All guesses can’t even sit in the lobby or balcony.

Traditional Japan with Amazing service/views !”
Service was amazing, food was excellent and the view was breathtaking. Private hot spring bath was a bonus ! Will visit again ! Bit overpriced considering I was the only customer and the rooms are not as big as the photo but still highly recommended.

Lovely Ryokan next to the river and close to Hakone Yumoto station”
We had a lovely time at this Ryokan. It is a mix of modern and traditional where the Ryokan itself is a bit modern but the room we stayed in was very traditional with tatami mats and futon. The Ryokan is next to a river and there is a terrace where you can sit and enjoy the view outside. The staff were very accommodating but not all of them spoke English (they did try their best). The food (Keiseki) was decent though not every dish could be rated excellent- it was more of an experience rather than a culinary success. We were a bit let down by desert- it was just fruits but that's being very picky. The room was immaculately clean and we were provided with (I think it's called) a yukata to use to go to the hot spring (onsen). There are two hot springs, one indoor and one outdoor and they switch daily between men and woman. Overall a decent place but would have preferred less disposable toiletries and a "fresher" looking lobby space.

Great for Ryokan and onsen experience ”
Second time we stayed here, and had another great experience at this ryokan. They offer in-room, private outdoor and public bath for variety of options. The in room dining experience is also wonderful especially with the full attention by the staff who oversees all your needs, besides dining and, preparing your futon. Also, the river right outside your window is such a nice touch, we kept our window open so we could hear the brook. Would recommend, and also return again. Both times our friends and family were impressed with the service, the dining, the river, and the baths.

Fantastic ”
The only thing I would mention is that as non japanese, the rules on timing the meal and room preparation is something we are not use too and we needed a little time to adjust, but following these strict schedule is part of the experience and we loved it.

Very good”
I am travelling with my older parents. My dad doesnt walk very well and use wheelchair a lot. The staff went above and beyond in accomodating us. It is absolutely amazing. The facilities are older yet charming. Facelift to the facilites could be beneficial. The food was always amazing. And the lady who serves our room was also amazing. Overall amazing experience!!

Not up to standard... ”
I am sure it was good when it was first build but it desperately needed upgrading. There was mould in the coner of the room... Everything looks a bit tired. The food was just ok... Breakfast was better than the dinner. The staffs were super friendly and helpful however the managers seems the opposite. It is a shame that we were hoping for a good real Japanese experience but it was a bit disappointing. I won't recommend it considering the price.
