Had a half board , though is buffet, v authentic jap food. They serve free liquor too, even hv an chillax area for reading , all day coffee / tea / soft drinks. Onsen is great , hv both public and private. Even a foot bath on outdoor, nice place. Nearby open air museum is worth the visit.

The accommodation would be the best in Gora 強羅 area in my opinion because of nice spa and meals. Always confused with the floor map like which stairs connects to which floor but still nice. Comfortable and well-located ”
Hi he hotel used to be a wellness centre for a major Japanese company’s employees. It has been renovated and modernised in an appealing style, blending elements of Japanese and Scandinavian design. The wonderful Hakone Open Air Museum is nearby, as is access to the cable cars that take you over the mountain and sulphur mines to Lake Ashinoko and the Hakone shrine. The option to have dinner at the hotel is recommended for value as the main dishes are well-prepared, although the buffet is a little limited. The view from our room was beautiful.

Quiet relax accommodation”
Dinner and Breakfast were wonderful with free drink including alcohol. The price for staying is amazing. We had lounge with drink bar at 2nd floor also. Now the restaurant is closed around 8:30pm but we could buy some alcohol at vending machine and drink in our room. People from overseas not familiar with Public bath space or family with small kids have a choice to reserve a private bathroom for 45 mins. I appreciate the hospitality of all staff, thanks.

Up the mountain to this amazing hotel! The staff were so very helpful with everything right down to shipping our bags onward to our next hotel! Breakfast was delicious and the snacks and drinks a available throughout the day really made the stay feel welcoming. The onsens were a nice treat as well. Our beds were super comfortable and our room had an amazing view! Just spectacular! Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Hotel is 5 min walk from Gora train station on one side and 8 min walk from Chokoku No Mori train station on the other side. The trains run up to 10+ pm so there is no issue getting back to the hotel once you are on the train line. Shops around the walkable surrounding area however, close at 3+ pm to 4pm, which is very early. There was almost no selection for dinner around the area, and you would have to take a train all the way to Odawara station where shops open up till 10+ pm. Yutowa hotel only offers buffet dinner at SGD76/pax. While the dinner spread was enjoyable, it would have been better if the hotel offers ala carte dinner menu as well, as customers are not likely to want to eat buffet dinner every night. The private onsen was a refreshing relaxation each night after a long day out sightseeing. It was not difficult to wait for your turn to get a slot to use the private onsen. The hotel provides free flow of snacks and drinks throughout the day, and free beer up to 10pm. We stayed in the block where the onsen was located. To get from the main block where the reception was to the onsen block, there was a flight of 16 steps which tourists would have to negotiate carrying luggage bags up/down on the 1st and last day of your stay. The hotel can look into renovating a slope along the steps, so that there is the option of pulling the luggage up/down the slope instead of carrying it up/down the steps. Other than this flight of steps, the rest have lift access so it is okay. The facilities are clean and cosy to use. The staff are very helpful and try their best to accede to our requests and answer all our questions. Overall we enjoyed our 1-week stay in Yutowa and Hakone and would recommend it!
