      Hame on Skye is in a picturesque location with friendly staff and lovely, welcoming facilities.”

      Staying at Hame on Skye was like coming home at the end of a busy day. The common area room was comfortable and a lovely place to gather with other visitors to chat with - or not! It was just nice to have somewhere to gather other than the room itself! The honour system was appreciated so that we could enjoy a glass of wine at the end of the day and the breakfast was wonderful! The staff went out of their way to make sure we were all doing well and to check if there was anything else they could do for us. We recommend this hotel very highly! We loved it!

      Friendly staff, lounge and bar comfort, location for exploring, comfortable beds and good bathroom, excellent breakfast.
      Poor soundproofing especially with very noisy Swedish guests. Decor was a bit stark ( no pictures in rooms).

      Our room was right next to communal toilet with thin walls so could people using the toilet which wasn&#39;t pleasant when trying to sleep Also quite a lot of dust under bed, behind radiators, cobwebs in ceiling.

      Overall, very disappointing.”

      The location of the hotel was lovely and the decor which is very Scandinavian, was very relaxing. Honesty bar and lounge area also very nice. Good breakfast service.
      On arrival, discovered no bulb in bedside light and only one battery in TV remote control. Went to reception to ask if these could be sorted out. Returned to reception for something else about 20 mins later and man on reception was tapping on laptop; no other guests around. I mentioned again about the remote and bulb and he replied distractedly “oh yes, I’ll see if I can find something”. Then discovered that sink plug did not work, shower head drooped so water ran down wall and attachment could not be tightened. Finally, I booked an extra large large double bed - ours was 4’6’!! When I raised all these points when we checked out, the man on reception just shrugged. We had prepaid(£170) and when I queried the charge for the drinks we had had, in the light of all these other points which meant that our stay fell well short of expectations, he just remarked “you had the drinks, didn’t you?” Overall, this was a disappointing stay with what I can only describe as ‘cool’ customer service from reception.

      Hotel decor and bedrooms so lovely, relaxed atmosphere, sitting in lounge which felt so homely, chatting with other guests. Honesty bar was brilliant, and the staff were so welcoming, keeping us updated on our rooms being ready, discussing dinner and breakfast menus. We changed our time for dinner 3 times, and there was no issue with this, we were told, &#39;whatever suits you&#39; we are relaxed about our guests requirement, no problem at all to change the time. We were hoping to catch the sunset (there wasnt one), but the view of the Cuillin Ridge from the restaurant more than made up for it.
      All expectations met, felt relaxed straight away. The food was reasonably priced however personally think it could do with being refined a bit more. Fine for one night stay,

      This is a real gem of a hotel, Stuart went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and then everything from room to dinner and the staff just great customer service all around. It was hame from home and we’ll be back again.
      The remoteness of the property to nearest big town did have an affect when you have a young child, but nothing else.

      This is very expensive indeed for what it is but I guess that’s the rate on the Isle of Skye! I was unable to eat breakfast as had to set off early for the ferry. They offered to make me a bacon sandwich and I asked for it to be crispy bacon and ready for me when I leave at 7:30pm. It was late being ready, causing me concern, the morning reception staff member was abrupt and unfriendly (where as the lady on reception the night before was delightful) and the bacon was almost raw! Very disappointing after such a nice meal the night before.

      Food, location and ambience were amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt very looked after. Staff were excellent!
