Nice ambience & feel like home”

The staff were very friendly & helpful. They took time to explain to you the facilities & speak to you. The hotel is very clean & the private bath tub is ideal for people not comfortable with puic bath. Will definitely go back again.

Exceptional”

The place is just a short walk to the bus terminal and Yubate. However, you will need to take the slope thus will be quite slippery during winter. Host can converse well in English and breakfast was good. Private bath is always available. Overall, nice stay.

AWESOME VACATION!!”

Everything from the welcome tea making and treats, to the final good-byes, and everything between was just so awesome. The staff was so helpful and friendly. Breakfast was special and different everyday, with locally sourced items. The onsen baths were so relaxing. Nothing bad to say. Thank-you Yoshi and staff. We hope to be back again to Kusatsu, and would definitely make Hanaingen our number 1 choice!!

My sister and I have a nice stay in Hanaingen Hotel. We've spent only 1 night but very impress for everything. Our room is comfortable and clean. We'd love their private 24hrs onsen rooms. Hotel staffs also nice and give us warmly service even they cannot speak English. Breakfast is nice in traditional Japanese styles. There is coffee machine and other facilities in the dining room. Hotel location also good ,just 5 minutes from bus station and 5-10 minutes to Yubatake. Let say if you are looking for small hotel with warmly welcome and good location, Hanaingen is the good choice.

Outstanding stay worth more than 5 stars!”

The max stars I can give here is 5 but if I could I would give it more! Great hospitality in this mini ryokan with just a few rooms. Despite that, there are four private onsens to use with is very sufficient, all with the same spring water from Kusatsu onsen square. The breakfast included was spectacular. Would have been great if they did dinner as well. Definitely great value great quality in this hidden gem. Special thanks to Yoshi San for his warm hospitality!

Terrific spot with private onsen rooms!”

I had a wonderful stay at Hanaingen. The hosts/team were all very friendly, and make sure your stay is comfortable. It’s clear they take pride in their ryokan. Hanaingen also has 4 onsen tubs, so you can enjoy them in private. They also have a kitchen that has coffee and flavored drinks (lemonade, iced green tea, etc) that’s available anytime.

We only spent one night at Hanaingen and honestly we didnt want to go! The location is perfect - 2 min to bus stop and 10 min to public onsens. Our room looked somewhat traditional Japanese . Very clean and had everything we need. The hosts are friendly and sweet. The private onsens were great - there was always at least one available. The welcome snack was a delightful surprise and the breakfast was highlight of the stay!

A lovely stay”

Moderately convenient (there is a slight slope, so do take note if you're traveling with large pieces of luggage or with elderly) Breakfast was lovely and the facilities included four onsen rooms that use different variations of water. Rooms use tatami mats and while toilets are in-room, shower facilities are located outside the room together with the onsen rooms. I had a room with two beds and while the beds were comfortable, one of the beds had a very obvious tilt to it, forcing me to use the other bed instead. Thank god my room had two beds!

Highly recommend! ”

Located neat to the bus terminal as well as the centre of the town. Service was excellent throughout. Love the 4 private onsens which we can use as long as they were unoccupied. The room was not totally soundproof. There was no bathroom in the room, only toilet and a sink which was not an issue as we showered after using the onsen. The welcome drinks and snacks made us feel very welcomed. The breakfast was excellent and sufficient.

A perfect stay”

Nice location, 2 mins from bus station by walk. 24-hour bathroom with hot spring. 24-hour mini bar(simple drinks). Good Japanese breakfast and welcome dessert. Room is clean and quiet. Love this hotel so much.

Impressive experience staying in this hotel !”

We were super happy about our choice to stay here. The place was amazing. Great design and service. The location was superb. We can easily walk around the town. The private onsen bath was one of the highlights of this place. Not to mentoin the lovely breakfast. The staff also taught us to make "matcha". I would recommend this hotel to all of my friends.

Super friendly staff n clean room”

Easy to find the location. The reception can speak in English and very helpful on giving different tourist information to u. The room is very clean. Although the restaurant is small, the portion of breakfast is very good . They have 4 public baths to share and each has own character.

Lovely boutique hotel with many thoughtful, personal touches. ”

Hosts are warm and friendly, and the place is cozy and comfortable. You get private onsens with yukata, and a whole shelf of shampoo/conditioner from various popular brands to choose from! Location is top-notch and the breakfast is exquisite. I enjoyed my stay here.
