Wonderful Hosts But Better If You Drive”
The Shims are great hosts and really make the place live up to its name! If you want to experience genuine Korean hospitality, this is the place. Happy Home Pension is located in a quiet residential area and you will be able to relax and enjoy a very peaceful stay. However, do bear in mind that it is located some 10 mins drive away from the Jongmun Tourist Complex so if you want to check out the attractions there, as well as in other parts of Jeju Island, it would be better if you rent a car. As we didn't, Mr and Mrs Shim were only too helpful in driving us to the nearest bus stop or to Jongmun Tourist Information Centre (both about 5 mins drive away) but it was a fair walk back to the Pension from the bus stop on the main road. When we arrived, we took the Airport Bus to the Tourist Information Centre and Mrs Shim picked us up from there. The nearest restaurants are along the main road (Mrs Shim dropped us off at a great place which serves Jeju’s famous BBQ black pork) so you may wish to purchase groceries from the mini-marts along the main road and cook them in the kitchenette in your unit (which is what we saw the Koreans guests at the Pension doing). Mr Shim speaks some English and he has a lovely dog (a Japanese akita).

Beautiful hotel with great owners!”
we were only here for one night, but it was so great! when we were in jeju the taxi drivers had gone on strike, so we ended up busing into jungmun where the bus dropped us off at the tourist information centre. it was here that they called happy house pension for us, where the owner came and picked us up himself. he was so great during our stay. we had breakfast brought to our room the next morning, it was so relaxing.

Wonderful pension with outstanding hospitality!”
We absolutely loved our stay at Happy House in Jeju! The room was spacious and very clean! The air conditioning worked wonderfully and there was everything we needed in the kitchen. The owners are lovely people and offered to drive us to dinners, the grocery store, and even the World Cup stadium! Breakfast was provided and brought to our room every morning. The location is very close to Jungmun beach and is right down the road from a great Western restaurant/bar (Geckos)! We had a wonderful stay at Happy House and would definitely recommend it!

Excellent service and most cosy room I have ever a”
The hostel manager is the nicest person we met on jeju island. Very helpful and attentive. The room we got was huge and has everything we need, full kitchenette. Breakfast is served personally to your room, consist of bread, fresh fruit, milk and cereals. Our friend told us that it is easy to rent a car at the airport, but when we reach there we were informed that all coarse rented out. Wet old the hostel manager and we called AJ rental service and got us a Matis at only won for two days.

Cozy guesthouse with friendly owner and manager”
Booked Happy House Pension but was allocated room at owner's other guesthouse at 527 Yeraehaean-ro. Owner was super friendly and we were allocated a room where it had a huge living room, bedroom and toilet with kitchenette. Bed was hard but the service from the owner and manager made it up. Room was on the third floor and there is no elevator in the guesthouse. There were not many guests during our stay and manager prepared our breakfast for us which consisted of sandwiches from Paris Baguette, strawberry toast and green tea which we had requested. It was located in a quiet area and was about 3 - 5 mins away from Jungmun resort and from the nearest convenience store. The owner and manager were extremely friendly =)

It is near jungmun resort area. The couple owner were so helpful and they offered their car for us to see around seongsan area and brought us to our new hotel in downtown with a minimal cost. They even recommend us to stay in suite room in a standard price. Best place ever...

Great Hotel with Excellent service”
Went to Korea for the first time for attending a conference. I choose this hotel because the price is really affordable. It was my best experience ever! and never regret it. The room is really big and complete with everything! and what I like the most was the service! Since I came to attend a conference for 5 days, and the hotel was not within the range where the free shuttle service pass by, the hotel owner kindly offered me a ride every day back and forth without a charge. At the end of my stay, I catches a mild cough and the hotel owner gave me a a bottle of Korean medicine. He also provided me and my friend with some special tea for my sore throat for the last day of my stay. For the first experience visiting Korea, knowing such great people (the owner) plus with a great service provided. You will know that if you had a really great trip when in the end it is hard for you to say "Good Bye". Definitely will not be my last visit!

despite injury on the owner hand he still welcome us with big smile when we reach the pension late at night. breakfast was homemade korean food. offered to help us order supper in the middle of the night. it just felt like you are home.

Feels like living at home...”
Although the location is not so ideal in terms of proximity to amenities, Mr Sim, the owner, more than makes up for it with his excellent service. He personally attends to all our queries, makes good recommendations for meals, and even fetches us to the restaurants and bus stations. He would also turn on our room heater before we return from the day's activities so that the room is nice and warm. So welcoming, like the owner! Finally, there's his handsome akeda dog, Khan, which willingly poses for pictures with us. Thank you, for making our stay in Jeju a memorable one.

Breakfast and Bed, Comfortable but Remote”
I was at this hotel as I was attending a conference at the ICC, and this looked to be one of the closer hotels. It is however not really within walking distance, and I tried cycling - the distance though not great, was challenging because the area is hilly. The hotel manager is able to drop you off anywhere, but that is provided you can find him. So most of the time, taxi is the option. On the whole, I had a pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel if you are visiting Jeju

Clean pension well equipped with microwave and cooking utencil. Location is a bit out of tourist place but the owner is very friendly to pick us up from the bus dropping stops from airport and send us for lunch/ dinner. And very nice Akida dog - Khan

Basic and Quaint Hotel but Requires Car Access. ”
overall the stay was pleasant. the area was really quiet just west of jungmun, access by car is a must, else good luck finding a cab. we found it easy to get around to explore the jungmun and seowipo sights, and there were lots of affordable and delicious meals in nearby restaurants, about 20 mins away. the quirky thing about this pension was that the heating element for the room was on the floor which means it took a long time to heat up. but when it heats up, it takes a long time to cool down, so adjust the heating carefully. besides that, there were lots of mosquitos in the area, i was attacked in the middle of the night, due to a sliding door that was slightly ajar. check your doors! lastly, the manager was extremely helpful and referred us to a lot of local restaurants. breakfast was less than desired, a small sandwich, and salad made from old lettuce. skip breakfast and explore other restaurants.

Big room but Hard beds!”
The room was nice and large but the bed was very hard. If you like soft beds, you will have a "hard" time sleeping in Jeju hotels/pensions. The room has a nice little kitchen if you choose to cook. There are not really any places within walking distance, so this is only a good spot if you have a rental car. Make sure you bring an extra towel with you in Jeju as well. We as a couple were given one towel for three days. No room cleaning service. We asked for an extra towel and told no.

Friendly English speaking host”
Spacious with basic kitchen, located in quiet area near to major tourist place of interest such as Jungmun Resort area - visible from open roof top. Convenient if you drive. A little run down, externally and internally. Facilities varies, my Children room have PC, but not our. They have big LCD TV, but we got a small CRT types. WiFi is free. Roof & small Garden was once use for bbq, don't seem to be in use for some time. The Host was kind enough to walk us to a nearby home like restaurant to try Jeju famous 'black' pork, bbq style. Otherwise a short drive out require for basic things. Overall, we are satisfied with our two-days stay.

Cozy atmostphere in Southern Jeju”
We were glad we ended up in the Happy House. It is a bit far from the beach and the hotel, but the owner was very accommodating and took us around with his own car whenever he could. The hotel had a nice and cozy feeling about it.

The room is very clean and have good views.Nearby there are some local restaurants with very reasonable price and good food. Room isequipped with kitchen. The place is quiet and confortable. The owner is very friendly and helpful. He speaks very good English. He helps us call the taxi and translating when we order in the restaurant.

Friendly and helpful owner”
I stayed in this hotel 2 night. The room equipped with kitchen. The room is big with balcony. The owner is very friendly and helpful. He drove us to nearby restaurant and shopping mart (because typhoon second day) and help us call taxi driver as well. Will recommend family or traveler with vehicle to stay this hotel because the nearest attraction need to walk about 30 mins.
