Different and super comfortable”
It was very easy to find, went there with my sister and with only a small backpack, so very close walking from the station too (aprox 10 mins), they offer to take you to the station for free as well. We arrived, and on the door of the reception a paper with my name and directions of my room, like a self check-in. The room was big, everything already organized, clean and with all the commodities. Staff announced personally the dinner and breakfast (we chose this option), food was beautifully organized, delicious and different from other teishokus we have had. Staff was very nice and sweet as well. Wehad a perfect experience, we highly recommend the place.

Good clean inn with good onsen”
A small but clean inn. The photos of this inn looks old but the rooms are better than expected. The meal is money for value. Very satisfied. Only drawback is that the inn is next to a railway track therefore it maybe disturbing when train pass by (not frequent though)

Fantastic Hotel”
Hasuwa Inn is just a perfect place to stay with. The single room was spacious, and has good view of a small Japanese style garden. The onsens are just perfect, you can lock the door to make it private onsen when you want to use it. They have 2 outdoor onsen and 1 indoor onsen, so that you do not need to queue at most of the times, at least one onsen is available whenever you want to use it. The only con of this hotel is the location, this hotel is really far from the Yufuin train station. However, the hotel provide free shuttle service to and from station, just inform them the time earlier and they will arrange for the pick up service. Besides, the hotel provides free bicycle, you can use them freely, ride to the station within 5 minutes, and park the bicycle beside the station, and you can explore Yufuin freely. Did not take the dinner as i planned to have dinner at Yufuin shopping street, but please be aware that the shops close early (around 5pm), lesser choice of eateries around.

Nice place with excellent service”
The place is located quite a distance from the train station the road to hotel is scenic. They also provide a drive from/to train station. The Thai staff name 'San' is very friendly and helpful. Staying for 2 nights feels not enough. Definitely go back again.

Excellent hospitality ”
There are four baths. 2 indoors and 2 outdoors. They were all private baths so we were able to go in just with the family. The baths were beautiful! After checkout, the staff also offered us a ride to the station :)

Great stay”
I was very impressive, their staff able to communicate well in English and very helpful. They provide pick up and delivery service for the customer to train station. The private onsen is so much comfortable and relaxes especially privacy is good. Foods are nice and bicycle to use as the location are not near to the street. I very enjoyed the nice onsen and foods provided as its delicious. I would like to recommend this nice stay.

Best budget ryokan I’ve been to”
The hotel is within about 10-minutes walking distance from the train station. Either buy your food (you’ll get refrigerator) or order one from the hotel in advance, as the town shuts completely down in the evening. I won’t repeat what others have been saying about the spacious room and the two outdoor private onsens! I’d come back and bring people over just to experience this wonderful place because the town itself is not that interesting.

Good value for money”
- Around 7mins walk to the main shopping street. - Pick up and drop off service at the train station. - Free bicycles based on first come first serve. None was available during my staff, but that's alright, I enjoyed taking a slow walk to the town. - Both outdoor onsen are pretty decent, just flip the sign to "Occupied" and lock the door, it's all yours. - Room is really clean and spacious. - Town gets really quiet after 5pm.

Thanks for pick up and drop off from Yufuin train station. A nice and pleasant and retroish place. Be prepared to wait for the onset and toilet if there are many travelers there at once.

Average but overpriced”
Breakfast was really basic, it was kind of dissapointing. Stayed at Sakura House and were told to keep the bath water running before we could enjoy the hot water - it's such a waste of water. When we ask if we could do laundry, they should have told us that it's chargable. If not, kindly have the notice placed at eye view rather than at the bottom of the washing machine. The staffs were friendly and only think we enjoy was the onsen.

Avoid! Worst bargain ever!”
I have sent an email to the hotel ask for the shuttle service but no one ever replied to me. The hotel actually costs around 20 minutes walk from the station to get there. The room is in good condition though, big and cozy. The room has a private wash basin and shared bathroom & restroom. And the restroom is a bit far from my room. However, the water system is the biggest problem. There is only a water faucet in the onsen and NO SHOWERHEAD under SINGLE DEGREE WEATHER. It is freezing cold out there so I am not sure what is it in the owner's mind. Also, the hot water system is not stable in our room (Room Sakura). It costs around 3-5 minutes to get hot water. Also, there is NO SINGLE DROP OF HOT WATER from the wash basin in the room. My girlfriend woke up in the 4 am and found out its way too cold. She tried to adjust it but there is only Japanese on the remote control. There is an instruction list but outdated. Looking at the cost I paid, its 13500 yen per night. Avoid!!!!!!!!!!

Beyond excellent :)”
The Indian(I assume) receptionist was so kind and helpful during my stay from 28/8-29/8. He clearly introduced the facilities which I could use when I checked in. Moreover, he was so friendly to ask if I want pick up service as the weather was so hot. Even when I checked out, he chased outside to question "is that the jewellery I left in the house?" (Although it's not mine, I do thank you his kindness.) The cleanliness of the house was extremely nice. They provided bicycles for guests to use if interested. There are private toilet and washing sink in room. I enjoyed the private onsen so much as a comfortable relaxation after long journey. Though the location a bit far from station (around 10-15mins walk), it is totally worth staying in this house. :) I absolutely recommend this house for your stay in Yufuin! ^_^

Sufficiently pleasant stay”
Hasuwa Inn offers Japanese style rooms that are fairly spacious. Given the area and the prices of the other accommodations, Hasuwa offers competitive prices. We arrived earlier than the stated check-in time and was kindly allowed to our room. The lady in-charge was very eager to show us the onsens and had little concern for the backpacks we still had on our backs. She was however very helpful and gave us a lift to the station on the day we left. The best part of our stay was the bicycles that were complimentary as Yufuin is easily explorable by cycling. Two notable negatives: the mattresses that were laid down for the night were left as they were and we arrived back from our Mount Yufu hike to find our room door unlocked. Despite the negatives, it was a good experience in an affordable place in an otherwise expensive town.

I spent 4 days a Hasuwa -- probably a bit too long for Yufuin but having a JR Pass meant I could go for day trips. Hasuwa was a great place to stay. I particularly liked the outdoor onsen which you can have to yourself. The owner was very generous, even taking me to Beppu to see the volcanic steam baths and shouting me lunch.

The best thing of my Japan trip”
I choose to stay here becaues many good reviews in social media. When I'd arrived here I'm not surprise why everybody love here. A small ryokan in Yufuin ; there are only 6 or 7 rooms. But good atmosphere and great Onsen. The owner is very kind also.

Nice small hotel in a nice town.”
This hotel is a bit out of the city center, about 20 minutes walk from train station, compensate the distance with free bicycles. We can take the bicycles around Yufuin, that's fun! The lady at the hotel speak good English and very nice. Private bath are great, especially for one who is new to Japanese onsen tradition (naked while in bath).
