Awesome Underrated Location”
Seriously great location! Japanese friends were surprised when we said we were staying in Sugamo, because it isn't the usual spot tourists stay. But the price was so much better than the more popular areas, and it's only a 4 min walk to the station that is a Yamanote Loop station so you can commute all around Tokyo! Only 15 mins to the east or west sides of Tokyo (Shinjuku etc). Hotel was comfortable, clean, bed big enough for a tall couple (185cm + 175cm). Sento (public bath) on the top floor was super cool and great to have to ease the muscles after a big day of walking. Room had enough space for us to pack our bags to leave Japan and was adequate for our 1 week stay there. Highly recommend! Sugamo is also an awesome area and shops are pretty cheap as it's the 'old people' part of Tokyo. A big shopping street is just over the road of the hotel. Definitely staying here again in the future!

nice hotel”
pretty newly built hotel. lobby was pretty and new and the location was very good. very close to the subway station so very convenient. the station is on the yamanote line which is the most convenient line for traveling around tokyo. the bathroom was clean and the tv was very large so nice to watch some shows. the staff let us hold luggage on the last day. and the staff gave free water. i would recommend this hotel if you are not wanting to stay in shibuya or shinjuku.

Great Hotel with great price and service”
This is one of the best APA Hotel I've ever stayed. The location of the hotel is very nice and near JR. There's also a Walmart nearby and can purchase some discounted snacks for night time when you are hungry. Also, there's an onsen on the 14th floor. It's also a great place to go at night.

A hop, skip, and a jump from the station surrounded by yummy izakayas, popular Supermarket a 5 min walk away. Quick checkout, very private, and a free newspaper to take with you. Free videos to watch. Planning on checking out the free onsen at the top next month.

It's great that the hotel comes with a public bath where I can unwind after a day of touring the city. Truly a gem! The location is fantastic as it's so near Sugamo station (not to mention a neighbouring supermarket that sells cheap local fruits and other produce.

This is available not only at night but also in the early morning, so please do not miss it. As for the location, it seems like you were satisfied with everything. Convenient location”
Usual small twin room for Tokyo, but we've had smaller ones so we knew what to expect. Had to open luggage in doorway or under the desk. Large comfortable beds, sleepwear provided. We did not opt for breakfast as there were plenty of options in the area. Difficult to do laundry when it's crowded as there are four machines on four different floors. The staff were very helpful and kept our luggage when we went to Gunma for a night.

Classy decor, well designed rooms, in an interesting lesser-known Tokyo neighborhood. The addition of the top floor onsen gives it even greater value.

The location is very good, walk around 5mins can go though JR station Very very clean, quiet and comfort from rooms The Japanese type bathroom locate from 14/F, its very clean The WiFi was totally lagged at night cuz the capacity problem. Check out must be left before 11AM otherwise will have penalty

Good location, adequate amenities”
The hotel is two short blocks (about 2mins walk) from the JR Yamanote line. If this line is your main reference point, then APA Sugamo is most convenient. More than adequate amenities (toothbrush, slippers, comb, vanity pack, coffee, etc.). For the environment conscious guests, the hotel has less single use plastic for shampoos, etc. I still wish the hotel would provide at least two big pillows for a nice restful sleep.

Had to take turns to use as only certain levels have washing machines and sometimes its such as hassles as we need to travel up and down to several levels to check if its vacant despite the TV notifications.

Onsen was a plus”
Small twin room but expected. Onsen was nice when it wasn't crowded with people wearing swimwear or dipping towels in the tub. Very convenient location, near Sugamo Station on the Mita subway line and the Yamanote JR line. Neighbourhood has plenty of restaurants, a large supermarket and a few pharmacies. Near enough to Shinjuku and Ikebukuro if you want to shop more.
