Hotel with a history ”
We decided to book this onsen hotel based the rating given. The Hotel is located right next to the Arima bus terminal. We can access the arima onsen region either from Kyoto or from Osaka via Hankyu express bus. Once you step into the hotel, you step into history. The hotel does not have a lift, and access to your room is by stairs. All our luggage were sent out to our respective rooms by them. You need to take off your shoes before entering the hotel. Slippers would be provided for you. You would realise that time has stopped at its hotel doorstep. As we were there during weekends, there were street performances across the street. We booked a room with garden view. Both rooms share a nice garden. The onsen for the sexes is divided by a low wall. The onsen is refreshing and intimate. It has a boutique feel to the hotel. Both our breakfast were a fine dining experience with produces from neighbouring areas. This also applied to our dinner on the second night. Most cafes in the arima onsen are closed by 5 pm. Having a late dinner is quite difficult if we are travelling with oldies and teenagers. We may need to patronise the 7-11 for a quick bites. Lunch is not an issue.

Worth every penny!”
The expensive rooms look disheartening but it's all so worth it!! There's an open-air public bath that's open almost anytime (there's a specific time though, in the middle of the night, when it's closed for cleaning) and it's well-kept and very relaxing. We went in the winter and the hot bath mixed with the cold night air was amazing. Traditional Japanese ryokan with excellent food and even more excellent service. Staff were always helpful, polite, and accommodating. Would definitely come back here!!

Excellent service”
It's a 5star service, its a bit costly but it's worthy. Location it's convince to main road, family mart & near bus station. First time experience the onsen, its so great all u need face cleanser, lotion all its provided in the onsen changing room. If u never try onsen, this hotel is privacy not much people.

STRONGLY RECOMMEND”
if you have enough budget and wanna experience onsen, this will be your choice! very ideal location, very very helpful staff (some can speak chinese), very nice onsen with superb view. they also have free shuttle service to the train station also. tips: there is no bathroom in the room, so you will have to bath in the onsen pool.

Recommending GOSHOBOH”
If searching for a traditional Japan-like stay, I would highly recommend this Ryokan: the relaxing atmospheric onsen, kindness/hospitality of the staff, the scenic and breathtaking view of the Japanese garden (e.g. flower arrangements) and the cleanliness of the Ryokan itself.

Nice Onsen”
This is a place where you wish to relax after a few days of shopping to completely relax your muscle and have their hot onsen. Do note that this is a naked pool hence shy folks are not too recommended

Best experience on traditional Japanese hotel”
Our family has stayed there for one night. This place is extremely close to the bus station, just one min walking. It is very traditional, staff is very nice and helpful. Onsen was great, but just a little small. We had dinner and breakfast and it's very good, especially Kobe beef. Overall it's a very good experience, although it's quite costly.

Nice Japanese onsen hotel”
Great Japanese hotel atmosphere, easily located, both dinner and breakfast served nicely and tasty too. The staff is friendly and is willing to do menu adjustment for one of my family member who doesnt eat fish. The hotel facility has no elevator and need to climb stairs to the room. For elderly or those who has big baggage might not be so convenient. Next to the bus station which can take bus to Kyoto, which is quite convenient too.

Great service, beautiful ryokan but pricey for food”
Although this is the oldest ryokan in Arima, it is huge, clean and looks extremely well-maintained. It is located near the walking streets and next to a souvenir shop so in terms of location, it is pretty good. As there is no car park at the ryokan, we needed staff to bring/send us to the car park so don't leave behind anything in the car that you might need at night. Dinner and breakfast were included in the package but it didn't seem to be worthwhile. So it is no wonder that there weren't many guests dining in the ryokan. The onsen is shared between male and female with a partition dividing each side. Great option for families ...the gin water was very soothing despite being very hot.

The staff are helpful. The location is not easy to find, but it exactly located a wonderful location near the Main Street. The onsen is impressive and fabulous.

Amazing ryokan experience”
My first experience in traditional japanese ryokan and it was nothing short of amazing. - Staff were extremely polite and courteous - Room was spacious and clean - Dinner and breakfast was great - Ryokan was a stone throw away from the main shopping street and bus terminal. - Semi outdoor golden hotspring was out of this world! Enjoyed myself thoroughly!
