Feels Like Home”
Our stay in this hotel was very memorable. It is located next to Hakone Lake near the Hakone Shrine & Hakone port. Our room has the direct view to Hakone Lake & we can see Hakone Shrine from our room. The Hotel is quite old & traditional. The rooms are all Japanese traditional style room with futon bed. If you book this hotel include their breakfast & Kaiseki Dinner, You will not regret it. If you love Japanese traditional food, I guarantee you will love it so much like me & my wife did. Their Japanese Breakfast menu will also awe you. They have a public bath (Indoor & Outdoor) at the highest floor of their hotel with direct view to Hakone Lake. It is separated for Men & Women. You can enjoy your relaxing hot bath while staring out the beauty of Hakone Lake. The staffs were the best part of this hotel. They are already at the age of my grandparents I think. But their spirit & passion to serve the guests has touch my heart. Thank you so much for your kind & warm welcome. (^_^)

A little bit of Heaven on Earth...”
The location is very convenient since it is so close to a port for a sightseeing cruise, plus the Hakone Shrine and Hakone Checkpoint are within a good walking distance. Our room did face the lake, but during sunset the room did get quite hot from the amount of light pouring in, and the AC unit wasn’t very strong. The onsen was very relaxing, but once again during sunset the light can be very bright, so I couldn’t quite get the view I wanted because I was squinting. In contrast, I did go to the onsen at 6AM and the view then was serene, so I highly recommend going in the morning. The staff did not speak much English but they made up for it with customer service and care. The kaiseki dinner is must if you stay here. The dinner and breakfast were very delicious and were a great experience. Overall we enjoyed our stay and may look to staying here again if we ever make our way back to Hakone. Thank you!

What a fun place to stay. The staff was older, very nice and attentive. You leave the key at the desk when going out and they knew what room you were in when you came back. Right on the water of lake Ashi, all of the rooms face the water. Great view of the tori in the water as well as the ships, boats and boat swans. The site seeing pirate ships and sleeker white boats are so close, like 50 steps and 100 steps away. The bus is so close too, the departing bus actually has a stop right in front of the hotel, but we walked the half block to the other stop to try to insure getting a seat because we thought it was the first stop, but the bus we rode actually came from somewhere else, so we could have gotten on right in front of the hotel. The second day was clear, the view of my. Fuji is spectacular, can’t see it from the hotel because of a small mountain in the way, but from in front of the seven-11, directly over the Torii is how it lines up. The walk is about 150 steps.

Great find for the price”
This is a 2 min walk from the nearest bus station and the river cruise. Definitely an older place and the bathroom is out dated but it didnt bother us at all. There is public use of the onsen/bath house on the 5th floor with a great view. All the staff are friendly and great

Excellent room service. Futon bed is made up well before we return to the hotel after a day’s trip out. Hotel does serve a kettle of hot water upon arrival saves us the trouble of boiling water ourselves. There is an indoor and outdoor onsen as well which is free for hotel guest.

Old Building but ”
Great location! It is right by the famous lake and you can walk to the temple. View from the room was fantastic! The staffs are old, but very friendly. The town sleeps early, so there's not much to do at night save for some convenience stores.

View of the lake was amazing; walking distance to most attraction in Hakone; staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room is a little outdated but was kept clean.

Japanese style hotel by the lake”
Stunning lake view from the room and from the onsen bath pool. I took the room with breakfast and dinner, and it was delicious and worth it. Overall a very comfortable stay.

Wonderful experience”
More than a hotel, this was an experience! The staff were very nice and helpful. The room was very traditional ryokan which is what we wanted. The hot springs inside the hotel was very nice with a great view. I would definitely stay there again if I go back to Hakone.

it's good for family vocation”
There is a big lake near here, You can go around lake and visit the famous Jinza and take photos. Besides, you can down town and go to Musium . On the Musium you look down the lake and around. It's so beautiful. you can take a bath onsen in the hotel in morning, and look at the sun.

Dated rooms but incredible service!”
Traditional Japanese rooms, amazing 10 course meal, had a wonderful stay in this authentic hotel. Particular thanks to Pan, the Taiwanese maid, who went out of her way to explain everything.

Great stay”
My family and I enjoyed the stay in this hotel even if it is a little far from the Hakone Yumoto station but the location of this hotel is near the sightseeing spots which was very convenient. The hotel is near the Lake Ashi, Hakone Shrine, Motohakone and other great tourist spots. Although the hotel is very old, we were able to experience Japanese-style room, Japanese breakfast and Japanese culture.

location location & hospitality”
Locate near the pier and shrine. Recommended for an early visit to the shrine. Beware nearby shop closed by 5pm. But there are 2 convenience store nearby and 1 Italian restaurant open till 7pm. The hotel have sign of aging but hospitality of the staff will make up for it. Well maintain public bath for relaxation facing the lake.

excellent location, abundance of food”
the location cannot be better. its right by the lake, near to hakone shrine. from the onsen on the fifth floor, it overlooks the serene lake with hakone shrine tori gate clearly in sight. the food is more than enough, we had a great time having dinner and breakfast

A value for money traditional Japanese accommodation.”
Together with my spouse & teenage child, we stayed for 2 nights. We opted for breakfast & dinner. The meals were different daily & never fail to impress (& surprise) us. From the presentation, we see each dish is done with great effort & tasty too (especially the tofu!). Despite a late request for 1 pax with vegetarian diet, the hotel staff is understanding & helped us to meet our needs. The hotel location is closed to amenities (eg. convenience shop, souvenirs shops, bus stop*, restaurants, etc). And of course, next to Lake Ashi!... also a short walking distance to Hakone Shrine. The outdoor onsen is remarkable too especially at night. A tranquility experience! The hotel staff from counter, room makeup to kitchen are ready to help. Look no further, if you want to experience a traditional Japanese lodging! * bus stop 151 (Hakone-jinja-iriguchi)

Great traditional Japanese experience”
It was great experience visiting Hotel Musashiya in March 2019. Enjoyed a lot the location, gorgeous traditional dinner set, hotel staff is extremely friendly though a bit of more English would be a definite plus. All facilities including public places like Ibsen are very clean. WiFi is in the lobby only. Transports are really frequent and easy to access. Definitely the experience to repeat!

NIce Traditional Type Hotel”
We stayed there for 1 night. They a very nice view for Mt. Fuji or Lake Ashi. We got Mt. Fuji view. The hotel is very nice, really looks like a traditional Japan House. The staffs were so friendly and full service. They were all wearing traditional clothes but they can only speak Japanese only the receptionist can speak a little bit English. It's a unique experience because we sleep in the Futon not the usual bed like other hotels. The hotel is nearby Lake and we can just go out to enjoy the Lake view.

Very pleasant and comfortable stay”
Traditional Japanese breakfast was good, room though relatively old but was comfortable and location right beside Lake Ashi in the middle of Hakone provided the best pitstop. lake view room could be better since it was mostly blocked by a huge tree right in front.
