You get what you pay for”

Superb location. The hotel entrance is only about 25 meters from the nearest gate of the Tokyo station, with direct links to the Narita Express, the Shinkansen Network as well as the ever so popular Yamanote line, which circles the city and stops at most tourist hotspots. Rooms are exceptionally big and comfortable, with all imagineable amenities. Bathtub with a view in the premier rooms is great. Employees are „over the top“ friendly without exception. It went to the level where I found myself a little out of place with all the bowing and demonstration of respect. The pool was very relaxing and I guess it‘s hardly ever full, because the Shangri-La is not huge. It only occupies the top (roughly) ten floors of the tower. Breakfast was too expensive for what it was. All very nicely presented, and food of very good quality, and the made to order main course always fine, but 4‘400 Yen per adult is not a great value. Hope to overcome my lazyness in the future and eat elsewhere.

Loved the hotel”

From the moment we stepped of the train to be guided by a smiling Oliva who escorted us to the hotel, we knew we were in for an enjoyable stay. The room was lovely, great views, clean, comfortable and great bathroom. Wifi also very good. The staff went above and beyond, particularly have to thank Oliva who assisted us a few times during our stay and offered great advice on where to go. The location directly next to the station was very convenient and taxi's were very easy to catch from the basement. We also had a swim with a great view from the pool and gym area. The food and drinks in the club lounge in the evening was a nice touch and we're already planning our return. Thanks for a great stay.

Rude and condescending receptionists”

The female receptionists are SO rude in this hotel. I was reminded sternly twice that the check-out time was 12. And was later even told "since my flight was at 3pm, there wouldn't be any problems checking out right?" Oh my god! Did she think I'll lock myself in the room and refuse to check out on time? What in the world? I golly well know what the check out time is. I never get reminded of check out time in any of the high-end hotels I stayed in. It was all just welcome to our hotel and have a pleasant stay. What is with this horrible service Shangri-la???? Furthermore, I paid for imperial garden view and got a view of all buildings and the Tokyo station. I later told them about this, and they insisted that they gave me the right room. It was all buildings, there wasn't a smidge of garden please! Check-out with equally horrible with another female reception staff. It seems that Shangri-la reception is consistently poor. Terrible reception, I will never stay with them again

Beautiful hotel”

Hotel is beautiful and for the price so it should be! Enjoyed our stay, did feel a little uncomfortable when we went for afternoon tea wearing shorts and t-shirt and all other guests were very smartly dressed (suppose i should have expected this!?). Staff kind of hid us round a corner lol

Staff excellence”

Service is the key word and spaciousness is a commodity that is found here. Staff were attentive during a difficult time when the recent earthquake stopped the Shinkansen from running etc. Staff ran up and down stairs checking on guests and took our heavy bags down by hand. Yes I would recommend this hotel.

Tokyo in style”

Good location next to Tokyo Station. Beautiful room, luxurious extras and excellent staff. Breakfast was very expensive but there are plenty of outside the hotel options that are excellent and more reasonable.

Tokyo stay”

Good location and excellent convenience to go about places. A dissatisfaction of this hotel is staffs are not friendly and attentive. Request for luggage pick up, they took an hour to our room.

Unforgettable!”

Staff in the gym was absolutely prompt to sanitize the gym equipment and restock water and towels almost immediately. Hotel provided complimentary assistance of booking bullet train tickets, making restaurant reservations, and changing of large Yen notes to smaller notes. Would recommend anyone going to Tokyo to stay at Shangri-La!
