Though it is outside Davao city and roughly an hour drive from the airport, it is truly a paradise that one should experience. It is not your normal resort rather it is a resort with an environmental purpose. It promotes sustainable living and environmental awareness and protection. Most of the produce that they serve grow in the property. Aside from the food, the different types of accommodation is very simple yet clean and spacious. It has a very beautiful pool and a swimmable and safe beach. Though the sand is black and it has small shells, the sand is very fine and clean. The water quality is top notched and you will rarely see any trash floating on the beach or even around the premises. One can also do fishing which is a good experience for both city dwellers or just those who wants to relax while waiting for a big catch. An amazing feature of this resort is the forest tour. Aside from being educational, the endemic wildlife are free to roam in the area which adds more excitement

Yes we actually found paradise in Hijo resort Madaum! Beautiful volcanic sand beach, amazing Cassitas accomodation, good restaurant and food with very friendly and helpful staff! Lovely clean and fun fish pond to fish in and fabulous swimming pool next to the restaurant. The view from the pool area was stunning, i could live here forever!

The Premium Casita is a luxurious resot style that in secluded and private. The room is clean, the ammenities are nice, and the staff is helpful. We only had dinner 1 evening there and it was great. We have already booked our next stay there and can't wait ti try the adventures they offer.

We haven't fully enjoyed the resort since the weather was bad due to the monsoon season. Since the resort is beach front, it is almost impossible to swim in the pool since the wind is so strong. It also affected the cleanliness of the resort since there are fallen leaves everywhere even in the pool. Good thing is we are impressed with the room since it is so spacious with a unique setting and perfectly functioning AC. We were just a little bit disappointed with the CR since it appears so rustic and the water in the faucet has an odd smell. Location is 5-10 mins from the main road so it would be best to bring your own vehicle or contact the property for shuttle service. We also enjoyed the activities offered by the resort, gun firing for 1,500 for 50 bullets already as well as archery for P300 good for 30 mins. The in-charge who assisted us with our activities is also impressive. Our group had so much fun. Staff are also excellent, from the guards to the reception and restaurant.

Best Place to Stay in Tagum”
Stayed here for a night. One of the best experience i had so far. Place is great. Food is excellent. Can't comment much more on this hidden gem in Tagum City. Definitely a place to stay if you're in Davao and looking for peace and quiet. They also have some activities for groups. A must try.

Quite expensive I must say nonetheless the resort is worth the price. You get an amazing view of Davao Gulf and the pool isnt crowded. The location isn’t accessible by public transport so you need a private car or you have to ride a tricycle. The food is so delicious in their breakfast buffet.

Enjoyed my vacation (except the power interruption)”
I love that the place was secluded and very private. However, the road to the resort is not cemented. So going there, you have to face dusts and all. Reserved a one premium villa and 2 small casitas. Love the premium villa, except the sofa bed near the TV was dirty underneath. There was also power interruption for 3 hours and the whole resort was in total darkness! Staff and the place were awesome though.

2 days stay”
A wonderfull surrounding and pool site. The roomson the other hand are spartan army rooms. A foam matrass on the floor.. NO hot water in the shower.... nothing, but realy nothing insidethe room ecxept for the bad matrass. A big difference with the outdoors. The restaurant can be much better. Dinner is to be ordered BEFORE 19.15......on vacation!!!!! The kitchen is closed @ 20.00. Our food was ready and waiting for 20 minutes on the counter and was cold when it got served. The breakfast buffet in the morning served eggs, pork fish, rice.... but everything wich supposed to be hot was ice cold etc, etc.....

The staff were fabulous. They were truly caring and concerned about your happiness and I can’t say enough good things about them. Loss of water repeatedly over 30 hours. Overwhelming musty smell in the room which they tried to reduce by putting air fresheners in but it was the mustiness was still present. .

Forgive my review but the public needs to know facts about your place... - This is a mosquito nesting place. Young children are not safe to stay overnight because of this. - Their Casitas could use more cleaning... On a positive note, only ONE staff was friendly. The others were blah.. Can't even move a single muscle to force a smile. Please...

A nightmare during a blackout”
The room was lovely and large. The service staff were friendly. Unfortunately, there was a blackout during my trip due to heavy rain and a tree has fallen into the power cables. We were left in a dark room with no back-up power supply for a few hours until we have to brave the heavy rain with lots of mosquitos to get to the lobby area only to be told what's happening. They should have provided notice to guest when things like this happen rather than wait for us to wonder in the dark without aircon and this happened at 11pm... We were finally relocated to another shabby room at 2 plus in the morning. They was no apology nor compensation offered for our trouble. At least the hotel should offer something like a free night stay for good will. It was a scary and unpleasant experience.

They put nice picture of the beds but in the casita i can not call that a bed awful back pain never slept so bed Than they upgrade me but tv is not working and in the morning no water to shower waited more than 1 hour than i get a bucket of water so i can shower the old way Was so glad when i left there even after upgrade......... never again

Not what it shows”
This property is well out of town. The rooms are not as shown in the photos. The beds are a thin piece of foam on a hard timber floor. Not very friendly to your back or to people with difficulty getting up or down. Always a smell of sewerage around the restaurant. Gardeners starting mowers chain saws and other equipment from 6:30am so there goes the late wake up.
