Highly recommended”
1. best view of Batad rice terraces on their dining hall 2. food has big serving, good taste 3. staff is approachable and always around 4. rooms are clean 5. bathroom (common bath) is already dirty when its my turn to use it, no trash can that's why leftover shampoos and soaps scatter on the floor which made the water outlet clogged. water is so cold, no water heater. 6. i know they can do better

Thank you po, Ma'am Mirza, for being very accommodating. We enjoyed our stay at Hillside Inn. ”
Hillside Inn has a very good view of the rice terraces. Dining by the veranda was a very pleasant experience.

Exceptional”
Place was very nice and quiet. People were very friendly. I had a solo room which feels homey. Just a little concern that my windows had no screens so there were insects in the room, but they didn't bite.

Amazing view from room and restaurant, quiet place in the middle of nowhere.”
No mobile signal, no wifi = best place to stay out of work! You cannot expect 5* hotel in place like this, even walking to this hotel can be advanteru in case of rain. But it's worth to go there and stay.

Unbelievable location/view for the price”
OVERALL: The room cost is incredibly low for the extraordinary view and proximity to a UNESCO World Heritage Site. FACILITIES: The rooms are no frills, homey, and clean, which is exactly what was expected. The hot shower was nice, but the bathroom/shower could be cleaned more frequently. The restaurant upstairs with viewing deck was beautiful. SERVICE: The town has few restaurants, so most people choose to eat at the hotel. The food is lackluster (understandable given the geographic isolation) and extremely overpriced. You are also charged a fee for charging your electronic devices and for shower towels, which was unexpected and excessive. We almost ran out of cash, and there is no ATM in Batad. Lastly, the customer service could definitely be improved -- the hotel staff were not welcoming or particularly helpful, and were kind of gruff in answering questions. EXPERIENCES: The hotel did a good job connecting us to a fantastic local guide (Job), who organized a great 2-day itinerary.

best breakfast with a view ever ! ”
(+++) fantastic view over the rice terraces (from both the restaurant and the rooms), good and cheap food, adorable staff, and excellent traditional massages available ; can also help you to find a guide to hike and a porter to carry your bag to/from the jeepney/tricycle drop point (20 mn walking) (-) Basic rooms (with or without private bathrooms), with thin matress and poor light, and nothing to fix your clothes, but you don't care cause you just sleep there and go out

VERY NICE VIEW!”
This place is very very worth it because of the view despite the trek to the place. One of the best places to unwind away from busy city, and gadgets

Travel between the 1st and 3rd week of June wherein the views of the Rice terraces are impressive”
Do not expect much in Batad like internet/network since there is no signal, we stayed there for 2nights because we planned to trek the rice terraces and the Tappiya waterfalls. This Inn offers a 5 star majestic views of the rice terraces, Get a room that is on the 2nd floor, room number 1 and 2 offers a window facing the perfect view . You can also enjoy having breakfast, lunch, and dinner or just sipping to your brewed coffee while enjoying the view of the terraces. We suggest to take a picture on their laundry area on the 2nd floor it offers a fulldeck view of the rice terraces. Hillside Inn would be the perfect place to stay at if you are after the view of the rice terraces and do not care much of the services/amenities

By far the only inn that offers a full eye level view of the majestic Batad rice Terraces”
We stayed there for 2 nights last June 15 to June 17, and we were very lucky that we were only a few guests checked in, it was lean season and the rice terraces were a mixture of golden yellow and green and was very majestic and impressive to look at, We were on the 2nd floor which was room number 1 and 2 and both rooms offers windows of the rice terraces, the room is pretty basic with pillows and blankets, it was a little disappointing because there were cobwebs in our room, and the heater on the shower did not work at times, you also have to pay 20pesos each time you charge your phone and 30pesos for charging your camera, the food was very basic I did not enjoyed how the chicken adobo was cooked, it was too watery and bland, and the pansit was too salty when it was cooked. The only food that we enjoyed were the simple rice with egg and ham. If you plan to stay in Batad, do not give high expectation on wifi or network because the entire area is secluded and there is no signal.

daylight robbery priced food & no hot water”
The worst: There aren't any restaurants in Batad village so, when you need a meal you have to go back to your hotel and order their food to eat. BUT Price for food is like day light robbery. For just a simple fried noodle with bits of chicken, it's USD5. Strongly suggest you guys to bring your own food or instant noodles to avoid being 'robbed' by the hotel. Price for room is quite reasonable, however, it was raining in the evening and the whole village had no electricity and we had to sleep in the dark without lights or fan. Which is okay. But the weather is cold and the hotel don't provide any hot or warm water for shower! It was quite a bad experience. Hotel owners and staff were friendly and the view of the batad terraces is amazing

Good”
Location and price is excellent for our purpose which is to see Batad Rice Terraces However with a few cheap additions to the rooms like hooks where you can hang your clothes and things will improve things a lot Cleanliness of toilets will also greatly improve the place

Nice view of rice terraces, you can hear other rooms, screen door on the bathroom, no outlet for electricity you need to pay to charge 20-30. You need to pay for wifi also. Expensive food

Exceptional location but there's no service hospitality or warmth from the staff”
It has probably the best view of the Batad Rice Terraces.. BUT, where's the hospitality? I never felt any warmth or welcoming vibe from the staff. They don't smile and it seems that having people in their midst is a pain on their asses. Also, you have to pay to charge your gadgets and the cleanliness of the room needs something to be desired. Seriously, they need to hire staffs that are more welcoming. Filipino hospitality = NOT FOUND

Above average”
The view from the Inn is beautiful. But you have to walk trough the mountains for half an hour with your luggage. The rooms had no aircon or fan and the shower and toilet where dirty. There is nothing nearby. The beds where alright.

Okay for one night ”
Food was kind of expensive. Bed linen and pillows had a really strong weird smell. They dont provide towels, you have to pay for it and the washroom and shower wasnt really clean. But the view was amazing

Ultimate Disappointment”
NO towels provided - YOU HAVE TO RENT IF YOU DON'T HAVE ONE; NO electric sockets - YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR EACH GADGET TYPE (20 -Cellphone, 50 - Laptop); NO lock from the inside; and SHOWER HEATER NOT WORKING. MEALS - EXPENSIVE AS HELL. NOT EVEN GOOD FOOD. We had to split our ordered lunch because it's so pricey. We asked them if they could put it in the fridge for later. Come dinner time, we requested our leftover food to be reheated for dinner. We ordered rice to pair with our leftover food. The food arrived. They brought us two cups of rice and cold-ass leftover food. They didn't even reheat our food. THIS IS THE MOST INHOSPITABLE ACCOMMODATION I'VE ENCOUNTERED. The only thing good about this is their location relative to Batad Terraces. I booked 3D2N, I checked out after staying overnight. I really felt like I was scammed. You don't need to stay longer than a night in this INN.

Worth every step...”
Hillside Inn has the best view of Batad Rice terraces from our room.(make sure you request a room with the view). There were 5 of us. We're just excited to see a place we've only seen in pictures and movies since childhood. Et voila after 10 hours of bus ride (Ohayami bus services) from Sampaloc Manila to Banaue. Make sure you arrange all transportations with Hillside Inn because if you don't you will find yourself paying for more if you don't know any better. There is a jeep that goes to Batad from Banaue Local market ( price unknown as I wasn't given a change to haggle and a post a note on my foreheads "generouslady" 😀) if you're in a budget and know where to go at Batad I suggest you do that. But after a long bus ride you just want to Be where you want to Be. After the confusion our pick-up arrived a minute late I say and he admitted😀. We discussed our transport fee and it cost me (4,500 including a tour guide. this is including a return transport to Banaue. Does it sound expensive? I say yes but if you asked and arrange everything thru Hillside which I've admit I've forgotten maybe it will be cheaper. They did gave me a quote for a car pooling price which was more reasonable and again as I was busy thinking everything was ok for our trip I forgot could have saved me a little more for spending money😀.Live, travel and learn... From our journey to Banaue I'll say less than an hour depending on the road we arrived at Batad drop off point. A 20-30minutes trek (depends how long your legs are..mine was a bit challenge) to the town of Batad, every step was counted (I've stopped after 10) it was a good walked I've warned my nieces about the walk and I don't want any complains and they didn't as we were overtaken by an old lady carrying a sack of sand on her head walking as fast as she can with a mismatched slippers (thongs) so no complains at all. After 25 minutes walk we arrived and saw the green roof of hillside inn over looking the Batad rice terraces...yes it was

Perfect view and great food.”
I AM DEFINITELY GOING BACK! Everything you need is right there. It’s not only an inn. It’s also a restaurant, a view deck and a tourism office rolled into one. It’s conveniently located at the mouth of Batad Village. I think they have the busiest kitchen in the village. Well, that’s kind of expected. A market vendor in Banaue town advised me to look for it. She said it’s the most popular chalet in that part of the mountain. I was served the tastiest vegetable dish I’ve had in years! And, for a cheap price too. I was pleasantly surprised to find pizza in this very remote place. With the way they treat their guests, I can say how much premium is placed on customer service. That’s indigenous hospitality so to speak. I even sat side by side with guests from other inns who came to dine at the restaurant on a regular basis. No wonder this inn has been thriving for decades. The respectable woman who owns the place is the sweetest grandmother ever! It’s the one place I made friends with three different nationalities. My happiest moment: sitting by the restaurant's veranda, clutching a cup of coffee and staring at the most magnificent view in the world!

Awesome Trip!”
My girlfriend and I went to Banaue with our Taiwanese friend. Our stay at Hillside Inn was very fun. It wasn't the best inn in the world, but the staff made it worth it. Roberson served as our guide and our friend during our stay. Even his sister Odette was so friendly. The food doesn't get served immediately, so order earlier. They gave us bananas when we told them we've been waiting for a while. Finally, the view in our room, was so beautiful. You have to see it!
