Lovely Hotel”
I like the modern, glass-fronted Holiday Inn Almaty. I've found a welcoming hotel in the heart of Almaty's prestigious financial district. It's trusted, secure taxi service escorted me from Almaty International Airport, 25km away. I enjoyed the fresh air and open spaces around unspoilt Almaty. It's a 5-minute walk from Holiday Inn Almaty to vibrant Republic Square, where a Saka warrior watches the world go by from the 18-metre Independence Monument. And of course light snacks and hot drinks in the 24-hour Tipsy Bar. I also could work out in the MiniGym, with a flat-screen TV and cardio machines. Great place for Business Travelers.

An under rated hotel!”
This hotel is one of the most comfortable I have ever stayed in. Everything works and the staff is helpful and polite. And after a hard day of exploring the city, what better than to return to the clean, comfortable and safe environment of the hotel. The room exudes a feel of luxury, and is extremely comfortable. The hotel is conveniently situated. It is within walking distance to eating, shopping and entertainment outlets, and you can catch public transport easily from outside the lobby. I would recommend it to anyone coming to Almaty.

A good place to sleep but not worth its price”
the hotel room was good. It is cleaned daily with toiletries well provided. The staff can speak English, which is hard to find in Almaty. However, it is not as customer friendly as compared with other hotels and inns i have been in other parts of the world. They did not offer to accompany me to my room and take care of my luggage. The toilet in my room does not have exhaust fan so it becomes smelly when i do my thing. There is not even complimentary bottled water. I was expecting they should at least offer this considering their room price. Normally, i would choose mid priced hotels but i had to choose Holiday Inn because of its proximity to Hotel Intercon, where my boss was staying. It was only for this that the hotel was convenient for me. Otherwise, i would have chosen other cheaper hotels, which i learned upon getting to Almaty are also much closer to shops and parks.

Mostly OK, but mixed feelings”
My wife and I stayed for four nights for a business trip. We arrived in the afternoon and check-in was smooth. Our compliments to Diana at the front desk, who was friendly, helpful and efficient. The room was clean and had all necessary amenities. Breakfast was decent with a reasonable spread but staff were a tad grumpy and were slow in topping up the buffet. Unfortunately our business colleagues had a much less positive experience: they arrived at 5am in the morning and had to wait 45 minutes for their rooms to be ready, even though they had informed the hotel in advance of their late arrival. On a subsequent night one of them had unknown persons entering his room at 5am in the morning. The hotel promised to investigate, but did not provide any follow-up report. Hence our mixed feelings about the service in this hotel. Overall an OK hotel. Location was not bad, but not many conveniences nearby. For a Holiday Inn/IHG hotel, service was somewhat sub-par.

I unfortunately sprained my ankle when I was in Almaty. The staff noticed that I was limping and offered to send some emergency medical personnel to administer first aid. The staff were very helpful and did everything they could to make me feel more comfortable like sending me ice and food up to my room so I don't have to walk much.

Nice room and breakfast, so-so location”
I joined the loyalty program and got internet for free, The room was nice the mini-bar was outrageous though. Like $5 USD for a little bottle of drinking water? Internet came and went, weak signal. The location is so-so depending on where you come from, the taxis have to go past on the highway and make a u-turn or go to the traffic roundabout at the end and come back. Not sure this is worth the price and definitely is not if breakfast and wifi were not included.

it is a very nice hotel to stay. big and clean room. the restaurant served very good food at reasonable price. however, it is a bit far from city centre and there is no convenient shop or restaurant nearby hotel.

there is a bit if communication barrier to front desk staff. wifi is pretty expensive and hotel taxi is expensive too. the room is very comfortable and nice. near to museum and also few shopping mall. you can go to flee market by taxi and is just 5-10 minutes away. limited choice for breakfast

it is a nice area to stay. quiet and cosy. however, there is no wifi and the charges are pretty expensive for internet. near to museum and shopping area. 5-10 minutes away from most of the market and bazaar. the room is very comfortable. limited choice of breakfast and sometimes barrier in communicating with hotel staff. hotel taxi is rather expensive too.

breakfast was fine - but little variety staff were extremely friendly and helpful - front desk/ service and driver - all fantastic hotel is quite far from the sites and hotel could really provide a free shuttle service on the hour to help guests get around the city gym looks good - but equipment needs servicing - hotel cars also need servicing (no air conditioning) rooms/ bed were comfortable and room service was good

For 2N3D staying with late check-out at last day. Staff are helpful and quick action when I asked to deliver something. Location is so so good. Honestly speaking, breakfast charge is expensive, but the dishes were good enough for me.
