Great place to stay in Santa Ana”

Great staff, wifi worked well, the hostel rooms were semi-private (they had walls and curtains which effectively gave you your own private space). There was a nice courtyard area to relax, a kitchen you could use, and lockers to store your valuables in. Also the hostel is located a two minute walk from the main square (which also has a decent-sized supermarket and several food options)
The toilets didn’t appear to be cleaned on a daily basis

Plaza Antigua is clean, comfortable and conveniently located.”

My friend and I had a great 4-night stay at Hostal Plaza Antigua (we originally booked 3 nights and decided to stay an extra night). The location is perfect, only a short walk to the Plaza, and staff members Alex & Pepe went above & beyond to help us plan our activities and transportation (Pepe drove us to the volcano hike and lake). I definitely recommend it!

A highly recommended stay with Pepe and Alex!”

The rooms are very spacious. It’s a very old building with beautiful rooms and ceilings. The beds are very comfortable. Pepe and Alex (the hosts) are super friendly. We did the volcano and lake tour with Pepe and that was absolutely amazing. We highly recommend this hotel and the tour.

Very nice people always around and helpful, great wifi, huge room, comfy bed soft clean sheets, kitchen to put things in the fridge, brought us an extra fan, secure free parking, great location! Try simmer down for dinner.

Wonderful historic place”

It’s not everyday that you find a hostel in a former president’s house, but that’s what you got in Santa Ana. Pedro José Escalón used to live here in the beginning of the 20th century. It’s a beautiful house - a bit run down from the outside but certainly majestic inside.

Best Staff ever!”

The staff is super funny and helpful. They can help you with everything. Also nice vibes and not complicated at all.
The laundry service is quite expensive. About 10 dollars per load.

Nice central hostel”

Very close to town, nice and helpful staff. We has air con which helped a lot. The building was lovely and classical, I personally had no issues the maintenance of the place. Our private room was huge.
Trying to get in/out of the hostel was hard because we always had to bluse the door bell- in saying that this seems to be an issue in a number of Santa Ana hostels. Some free water would have been great.
