"Amazing location, wonderful property in the middle of a park. Excellent staff. Incredible price to the location and quality. (If you've ever been to a hotel in London, you will know what I mean.) Please note this is still a youth hostel, with bunk beds and shared bathrooms."

"I had stayed at 5 different hostels/hotels in London last October and November and 3 of them were Generator. Yes I was very satisfied :) Every staff and roomates I met were nice. Even though there was a tiny little problem with my bookings, staffs were careful and they tried their best to make me feel comfortable. I was using 3 mobile and it was hard for me to use 3g in the hostel but I could use free wifi-it was fast and safe to access."

"I stayed here for three nights by myself at the end of my holiday in the U.K. (my boyfriend had to leave before I did, so I had four nights to myself - I would have stayed all four nights here but the first night they had no vacancies) and I'm so glad I made the decision to stay here! Location was convenient. It's a quick walk from Swiss Cottage (Jubilee Line) tube station (exit 2) and there are numerous buses as well. If you're taking the tube, you can be at Oxford Street in no time at all - take the Jubilee south to Bond St. and you're in the heart of all the best shopping and atmosphere that central London has to offer. If Camden Town is on your agenda, you're actually better off grabbing a bus because you'll get there faster, and there are a number of buses which go toward that part of town. Regardless of where you want to go, you'll be close to everything the great city of London has to offer! In the neighborhood, within a few minutes walk, there are a few fast food restaurants, a couple small restaurants which serve good food, and a couple pubs (this is London after all). There's a mini Marks & Spencer food shop, Argos, a pharmacy, and a number of other shops (including a charity shop which is ALWAYS good for buying cheap books, and if you're like me, that's a necessity). Cleanliness: I was very impressed by how much attention they pay to cleaning the place! You hear stories about hostels being these dark hovels of squalor, but this place was clean and lovely! Beds: Comfortable, and I truly loved and appreciated the privacy curtains and individual reading lights. I was able to sleep quite comfortably in the room. Staff: Great! Very warm, friendly and helpful! Breakfast: Simple (toast/croissants, cereal, juice, coffee), but it's free! Dinner menu: Surprisingly good and inexpensive as well!"

"This hostel is one of the best hostel I have visited before, in top 5. Most of all I like the location. it is located in the Kensington area. So it feels very safety while I was staying even though I come back the room lately. The Earl's court Metro is very close to the hostel. It takes just in 5 minutes. And if you like to walk or to run. It takes just in 30 min. to the Kensington garden and Hyde park. There are buses to the City of London near the Cromwelroad. it takes 10 min. by walk to the bus station. And a bus to Victoria just around the hostel. It is in the zone 1, so you can save your money for transfortation. And the staffs are very kind and helpful. When I ask them something. All of they are respond me and try to solve the my ask with kindness. Facilties, lounge, kitchen, toilet and shower rooms are very clean and useful. The rooms has a enough space to me and it was clean too. There are just some little bad thing if I have to say. The floor of the room make a noise, it seems like wooden floor under the bottom. it doesn't matter to me, if the others make a noise. But I was a little bit care about it when I walk in night. I just don't wanted make others bothering..A woman in the room was very sensitive for noising. It can be to whoever has sensitive ears... But the building is old one. It was the one reason why I chose. The other things of interior are remodeled, so there are no problem to use it. I highly recommand it to you! Thank you all staffs:) "

"Professional hospitality at this hostel. Spotlessly clean, hand sanitizers never empty filled regularly, excellent security, place is very safe even for vulnerable people. Room cleaners are polite, supportive and lovely people. There are no many utensils in shared kitchens but is equipped with quality ovens and microwaves. Towels provided and bed-sheets changed very often. Batroms (showers) clean with free shower gels, toilets cleaned regularly and often, - never seen it unclean or bad smell at all, toilet rolls never missing. Stayed two weeks in twin room - windows possible open fully which is super if need fresh air at night. Hostel is located in lovely quiet street few minutes by walk to underground station which will take you to central London 20 minutes. Among the best hostels I have been London."

"I stayed here for one night in late October. I got a bed in a shared room for very cheap, obviously this is ideal if you're a young traveler on a budget wanting to stay in central London! But saving money can come at the expense of your well being...I have a motto of 'you get what you pay for', and I think next time I'll have to spend a little more for the sake of a good nights sleep. In my opinion its false economy if you get a cheap room but the worst night sleep of your life, and thus the next day of your life is spent feeling like sh**. So yeah you saved money, but spent a lot more in terms of stress. The room I stayed in was just awful - a small, long room with very high ceilings, which meant that three triple-story bunk beds were crammed into it. The beds rocked and wobbled like crazy each time I climbed mine, and whenever the sleeper above me moved or climbed up/down, the disturbance was hideous. Someone might as well have been shaking me with their bare hands. The beds were also very small, smaller than a single bed, and cramped. No where to put luggage either. There was no ventilation except for a small fan. It was VERY hot and VERY uncomfortable. Last but not least, the noise from the neighboring room was super loud and intrusive. I know its a cheap hostel in central London, but not everyone chooses to stay in one of these because they're interested in bar crawls! All I could hear almost all night was a hoard of yelling, drunken yobs. After a night of tossing, turning, noise and a quaking bed I spent most of my morning feeling crap, and it showed. Who wants to feel like that when they're having a weekend in the city?? I don't understand why some of these cheap hostels can't have half of the hostel a more peaceful zone, and the other half a party-goers/pub-crawl zone. I don't think it would cost much to do that! The staff at reception were nice. The bathrooms were alright. Just basic, like college toilets. At least they weren't too grubby. Although I will"

"The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Wayne who helped us early check-in and handled our luggage storage. The room was big and clean as compared with other hotels in London with similar price. The hotel provided breakfast with price (5 pound per person). There was also laundry service. The only one drawback is that the location of the hostel is soso with around 10 mins walk from underground station (Aldgate East or Tower Hill). Overall, Wombats worths its price and I will definitely choose this brand when I am going to other countries."

"Great place to stay - we booked it on a chance as we needed cheap accommodation on a Monday night near to Brixton Academy - it's a short walk from a tube station but on lots of bus routes. The dorm itself was exceptionally clean and had all the essentials - USB plug sockets, modern lighting and design. I personally really liked the wall mounted baskets next to each bed - perfect for storing phone on charge, a bottle of water etc. The staff were all great, and the 10% off drinks 24/7 and 25% off brunch was actually fantastic - we ate all of our meals there and it was good quality home cooked food. Will stay here again for sure! "
