Great location for Hamra area”
we stayed at hotel 35 for 3 nights while vacationing in beirut. while we spent most of our days outside of the hotel touring, the hotel was just what we needed. comfortable beds and decent breakfast buffet. the service was mediocre, the staff nothing to rave about and really showed no sense of urgency..we just felt they were overly laid back and we were ok with that (we're not hard to please) but if you're wanting quick service, talkative staff at your beckon call..you probably won't find it here. english is half decent but seemed to show more interest if you were able to speak arabic. they are able to hire drivers for you, but keep in mind that the charge is a lot more than if you were to find your own cab driver for the day (and they are plentiful in the area)..although we found the quality of the driver to be better than if you were to take a random driver off the streets. if you are taking a taxi from the hotel, you should be able to get one cheaper than the rate the hotel offers for pick up (we paid but apparently you can drive it down to as less than if you're a good haggler). i'd recommend this hotel if you're looking for comfort and no one to bother you, that being said, if that is all you're looking for, i think you can also find cheaper hotels in the same area.

Location, cleanliness and design”
I had a very good stay at the 35 Rooms Hotel. Friendly staff, spacious room, nice design touches. I requested a queen bed and they immediately changed the room, instead of 2 twin beds. Breakfast was nice and complete. It is very well located a few meters away of Hamra St.

Nice looking, but overpriced...”
The hotel is well located in Hamra, with swift access to the bars and restaurants in Gemmayze. Plenty of coffee shops and clothes shopping etc. in the area. Staff were lovely, and came out on the street to find me when I was lost. The style of the hotel is very cool, with unique rooms. Everything in Beirut accommodation is expensive, but the tv in this hotel had 4 channels, the kettle didn't work properly and my expensive double was a twin, which for a solo traveller is always really annoying. That made me feel like the room itself was overpriced, and that I should have stayed in a private room in a hostel for half the price. The door between the bedrooms was also silly, as it meant I could hear every exceeding loud conversation my neighbour was having all evening.

Clean, comfortable, good value”
We had a pleasant stay. Initially the room had twin beds rather than the double we asked for so w were upgrade to a large room at the back of the hotel, which was great. This was very comfortable, quiet and clean. Good value.

Could be better!”
This place might have been nice when new. We had a non- smoking room, but it still stunk. We changed rooms, the shower drain didn't work, was gross and mouldy. Cleaning staff needs to have more attention to detail. There's only about 2 channels on the tv and none in English. Location is noisey, however staff is friendly, that's about the only plus at this place.

Clean hotel with just what you need ”
Very clean hotel with just all the comfort you need. Very friendly staff was a plus. Quiet apart from some hallway noise from drunk entering guests in the middle of the night.

My summary ”
Receptionists were rude, loud and very boastful. The way i see it they are not professional on handling customers (regardless to the value paid). Bottom line is "u r dealing with uneducated personnels." Be careful if you choose to stay in that hotel.

Good stay in general”
Pros: - very easy to take a Service (cab) from the location (stand next to Al Chaikha). The hotel is somehow central. - clean in general. Unless you're a housewife, you wouldn't notice. - staff is very friendly - internet is good unless you need it for an online meeting. - electricity and water 24/7 - towels and pillows smell nice - close to Barbar if you need a midnight sandwich - minimarkets are close too Cons: - the sofa and carpets in room 305 are super stained. I started feeling itchy a couple of minutes after sitting. A deep cleaning is a MUST. - there were around 3 swatted flies in the room - by the end of our stay (day 3 of 4), we noticed flies coming in (not sure where from) Bottom line: if you're in Lebanon for vacation and expecting the level of a hotel chain, then that's not the place for you. Yet, if you're looking for a decent place that is in general clean just to sleep, then book directly.
