Superb accommodating and helpful reception staffs! ”
Located right in front of Takamibaba tram station (around 2 or 3 stations away from the main Kagoshimachuo train station). Might be difficult to pull heavy luggage to board the tram, otherwise the location is very convenient for exploring the city. Walkable distance from Tenmonkandori arcade shopping street with Don Quijote, Animate, Book-off etc (although you can board tram if don't want to walk; it's just 1 station away from Takamibaba). Hot coffee/tea are free at lobby, iced coffee is priced at JPY 150 iirc. Convenience store within walkable distance. Luggage delivery service is available at reception to send your luggage to your next hotel. Room was okay for single traveler, but furnishings seem to be old. What made my stay awesome was the reception staffs; they're super helpful and willing to go extra miles to make sure they communicate correctly with me by using translator apps! Will definitely come back here again when I visit Kagoshima in the future for the service and price.

I enjoyed the stay at the Areaone hotel in Kagoshima very much. The location is good (though not excellent), directly at a tram stop, just a few minutes from the station. The welcome was incredibly friendly, even for Japanese standards. The room was very comfortable (with a large bed) and clean. There were also some small extras, like free cold drinks and tea. I would go back to this hotel anytime! :)

Areaone located in the middle of Tenmonkan and Kagoshima Chuo JR station. It is great locate for me to go shopping & dinning. Hotel staff very nice, patience and helpful. Thank you for the hotel staff to let me know the airport settle bus location and can buy the ticket on the bus in Tenmonkan station to Kagoshima airport.

I loved the Areaone Hotel! The staff were so kind and always willing to help me. The cleaning was good and thorough. The building is slightly older but still very clean. Lots of good room amenities and just enough space to be comfortable. The hotel is right in downtown and the tram was right next to the hotel. Convenience stores and restaurants were also everywhere.

i went to kagoshima from hakata mainly for the scenic spot "sakurajima". i chose hotel areaone kagoshima as it was situated in a good location - 5 mins walk from tenmonkan of kagoshima city. conveniently located for business as well as sightseeing. free optical internet access is available in all rooms, and a free pc in main lobby. i liked to buy japan cds and there is a chaim cd shop "book-off" around the hotel. just 1-min walk. i went there from kagoshima chuo station with city train - got off at takami-baba station. if you have time, you can go there on foot with around 15 mins.

Areaone Hotel at Takamibaba Kagoshima ”
The hotel is located just two tram stops from the Kagoshima railway station. If you come from the airport, get off at the Tenmonkan stop. Hotel is clean, rooms are small, typical Japanese Hotel, but with everything inside: fridge, hair dryer, TV, free Internet, bathroom, air-conditioner and comfortable bed etc. It is a double room I stayed in, if you come in two, it will be a very crowded room.

from kagoshima station to hotel station, jr pass not cover this route. you need to pay for electric railway there’s no wifi service in the room and only come with lan. there’s a coffee shop serve free wifi at kagoshima station and this is the only free wifi available for public. look for seattle’s best coffee house in the station i found many dust around the environment, maybe because of the volcano ashes.

Computer with internet is available on first floor, all facilities that were discribed were available. Hotel is easy to find because of big advertisement on building and very close loication to mail big road with trains. Although view from window was on wall this hotel is worth one night staying beforegoing somewhere else. Very friendly staff.

Nice quiet room”
The hotel is situated between the railway station and the shopping / restaurant area, Tenmonkan. Both places are within walking distance. There is free bottled water in the fridge. And one can take free coffee from a vending machine in the mornings.

We booked this hotel due to price, but to our suprise also found the location is very good (just next to JR station). It's nice and clean and location is top, especially if you are travelling onwards after a short stay.

Great location but super tiny room”
the rooms is extremely small with window facing external wall of the next building. no natural lighting in the room. however, the hotel is walking distance to the shopping district, tenmonkan area.

the room condition is a bit old,there is a restaurant beside the hotel,the food smell can go in our room through the window.the bed mattress is too soft,you may get back ache the next morning.there is a microwave,free of tea bag and instant soup at lobby.Free used of bicycle is available.
