Cheap but maybe too cheap...”

Cheap, all necessities

This hotel is probably the cheapest hotel in Tokyo. That offers a private room with everything you need. The internet (wifi) worked well in my room. I just had to put in the SSID and password manually. It has a fridge and TV that you can watch for free. A comfortable bed and toilet with a shower. As well as some other stuff like a ashtray, clock, mirror, clothing hangers. So for the price and what you get I think it's very good. The problem is that it does not seem to be in very good condition. Pretty dirty in some spots and just worn down. Many things like the wallpaper, the shower drain, leaking fridge (leaking within). Worst of all was the AC. It's a very old AC and doesn't do much if you're there in the hot summer. And then I had the misfortune to have a cockroach in my room. A big black one. Creeped me out and after I tried to catch it and it escaped I asked to change the room and I got a slightly better room. I would not recommend this hotel unless you really really want the cheapest option that acts as a proper hotel. I would suggest the other hotel, New Hotel Bandung, instead. The problem there might be the wifi. WHen I stayed there last time the only problem was that the wifi in my room was near unusable. So I guess it's a risk. And it's a bit more expensive. But worth it for the AC and the hotels condition. Go to www.youtube.com/MurdocLC for some upcoming footage from the hotel.

Good option for budget travellers”

Location, Room Price, Ensuite Bathroom

I was staying at the Hotel New Bandung, a couple of yards away on the other side of the street from the actual Hotel Bandung. The room was tiny and so-so clean (the carpet had seen better days). If you travel on your own and are staying only a couple of days, this could be a good option. The Hotel is near an elementary school, so at around 9:00 am, you can hear children singing or the school band playing (trumpets, other wind instruments and drums), which I liked very much. My room was a smoking room -- there does not seem to be a way to request or book a non-smoking room at this hotel -- but fortunately it did not smell of cigarette at all.

Cheap place to stay”

Your own room for the price of a bed in hostel

small and old hotel, wi-fi is working really well though. from the hotel it's about 10 minutes to the nearest station. if you're on a tight budget, and interested in asakusa attractions, you should consider it. otherwise look for something else in the other parts of city.

Okay hotel, good price”

I liked the price, the free wi-fi and that I had my own bedroom and bathroom

This hotel was strictly okay. I kind of figured I wouldn't be getting great accommodation because it was cheap but really it wasn't so bad. The bed was comfortable, I had a good heater and enough space to store my things The bathroom is my biggest issue though

Does not look like a 'hotel'.”

Just Cheap

The reception is usually unattended and it looks like a second hand shoop, full of old stuff. The old guy, beleived to be the owner does not speak Englsh. Family operated business does not have uniform. Room doors open outward which can block the others in case of fire.

Budget accommodation close to Asakusa”

The hotel was inexpensive but very basic, close-ish to Asakusa temple, Skytree and shopping. The Internet access was fast and reliable

If you want to stay in a shoe box with a student bedsit kind of feel look no further. A case of you get what you pay for. If you don't expect much then you will find the hotel has the basics that you need for showering and sleeping. It is a good 10 - 15 minute walk to train stations, but doable.
