I'm used to staying at 4-5 star hotel so staying at this hotel is below my expectations, I actually just stayed for 1 night even if I paid for 3 days. This hotel is good if you only need a quick place to stay and if you are busy running around. If you just want to relax, away from the chaos, this is for you. I'm scared at the old rooms, carpet is really old and dirty, it's dingy and it smell really old. Over all, this hotel has a potential, it used to be the "it" hotel in Subic when it was "Marmont Hotel" eons of years ago.

Interesting place”
To be honest I stayed here just to experience this classic hotel. Built many years ago, I believe it was once the main hotel in the area, used by all the US Navy officers, so as a result, has a bit of history attached. Hotel is a definitely worn a bit with time, but it all adds to the charm. Looks different from most hotels in the area with a distinct European / Italian design. So overall, I enjoyed my one night at this classic nostalgic place.

I enjoyed my stay here the staff were very helpful...clean and tidy...only thing that does not make this a 3 star is that there is no fridge in the rooms....in a hot country there must be a fridge in the room for cool drinks.

For 1986 Hotel it looks like le1946 hotel”
This place looks horrible from the outside with the 3rd floor gutted. The hotel might have been ok when built, but now it is really past its prime Filipino style, meaning no maintenance and upkeep and pool that gave me skin rashes with mold etc it should be closed down and rehabbed. The place is really a "condo tel" with focus on long term tenants, not hotel guest. Whoever owns it must be absent cause it is really run down, but has charming lobby.

Lack of maintenance”
Oldest hotel in Barrio Barretto. Full of character but desperately in need of essential maintenance and a lick of paint. I moved room 2 times due to an aircon unit that sounded like a boeing 747 taking off and a shower unit which packed in. I gave up asking for a functional TV. Staff did their best but not resourced to deal with any issues. The so called 'maintenance' man turned up to attend to my aircon unit without any kind of tools. Pool setting could be nice but just 2 knackered old loungers for use of. Poolside bar is dilapidated and clearly not been in service for several years. Some locals believe that the place is haunted which adds to the character. There are several perfectly good hotels in same price bracket nearby including Dennito next door.

A place to sleep, shave, and shower. Run down, but I like the side street quiet. The pool is OK and alot of long term residents. Rooms are big, staff and security is good. 1400PHP in cash at front desk, long term rooms $17500 to 28500 for 1-2br monthly.

Unfortunately this hotel is not located by beach. But it is clean and quiet, as well as relatevely cheap compared with other hotel. If you want to go to beach, you can get there 5min walk.

Faded glory”
The hotel has a vintage charm. Once the biggest hotel in the area nothing has been updated for 30 years. With only 4 or 5 guests there it can be a bit spooky. The staff were lovely but the last time I saw that type of shower was in Cuba. Some will look and run others like me will.feel at home.

Old and tired place”
Older and dingy place. Walking distance to barrio barretto. Staff is ok. Price was reasonable. Hair in the CR. Ants all over. Stayed two nights, but no maid service to straighten the room. Had to ask for fresh towels. Wouldn't stay there again.

RUN DOWN HOTEL -cold, damp, depressing”
The photos are deceiving... i thought it is decent.. but its not.. the pool is dirty.. the hotel is dark and so not cozy..looks like a ghost hotel.. the room is smelly.... 1. carpet stinks 2. the tv doesnt work 3. the phone doesnt work 4. the toilet/cr shower looks dark and uncozy and just ewww 5. no toiletries but small safeguard soap 6. no water/complimentary

Acceptable”
Beautiful courtyard and pool area, but what a waste, once a beautiful and grand hotel gone to waste from lack on maintenance and care. Complete lack of security as well, in the evening anyone has full access to any room key, balcony door does not close fully (latch missing) no room safe and reception wanted p500 to use their lock box, wifi only worked occasionally unreal experience!
