Went to shillong after a decade. Centre Point is one of the oldest landmarks of Shillong. Pros: The best aspect of hotel is its location which is bang in the middle of the city. Both restaurants were good and served tasty food. Staff was courteous and helpful. Cons: Bathrooms could be maintained better. Splashing can be avoided by increasing the height of the barrier between shower and toilet areas. Toiletries also can be improved.

Great hotel”
The hotel staff truly welcome you and make you feel like you are their priority. Checking in was no issues and the food at the restaurant was delicious. Although the hotel is right smack in the middle of the city, and it can get quite noisy with the buses honking away, i would recommend this hotel to everyone. It did get alittle annoying as at times certain staff gave conflicting information. The don bosco museum was closed but the staff told us that they had checked and it was indeed open. This messed up our plans on our last day as we had ditched the sacred forest trail for this. Also one staff told me that check out was at 2pm while when i called reception again alittle later, the staff told me that check out was at 12 noon. As we only had 3d, 2n in shillong, every hour was precious. Apart from this, very hospitable staff and overall, the hotel was great.

It was an awesome experience staying at this hotel. It is centrally located, market, food joints, etc are just at walk-able distances. Great food, awesome location and very good service makes Hotel Centre Point the best budget hotel.

a good hotel to stay in shillong”
i have been staying at this hotel mostly since 1997 since whenever i go to shillong.no doubt it is a very good hotel to stay as it is located in the main commercial area of shillong.close to lots of shops and local markets and reataurants all around.the rooms of the hotel is nice and clean with pinewood finish and big ceiling to floor windows with great view of the city and natural beauty.a few years back they have introduced club rooms also with chic looks and also the older rooms were renovated.but the bathroom sizes are not that big enough but it is ok as it is clean.the food quality is very good and the complimentary breakfast is good too.the only negative point of the hotel is that it is very noisy all around as it is located in the main market area of shillong.from morning 5 one will hear the sound of local taxis outside the hotel and also at night one can hear the sound of cars zooming in and out and also some loud musics in weekends as there is 3-4 nightclubs in and around the hotel and the hotel itself has a nightclub at the top floor.but still i love the hotel and the place a lot.and if they provide wi-fi/internet service at rooms then it will be great.hope that they will do it soon.

Great location, awesome view”
Hotel is a tad pricey but guess its normal for hotels in Shillong. Has a great location. Right in the middle of Shillong Town. Lovely view of the mountains. Clean and comfortable rooms. Only thing I never understood was the lack of a fridge in the room. Staff are friendly and helpful. Wifi is only in lobby.

Central city hotel and great meeting place”
I was connecting with friends and this was a fantastic central location that every form of transport is found. This was a great clean hotel, though the great draw back are the daily traffic congestion and constant traffic noise all day. So if you use this as your base and take day trips out it is the perfect location.

Exactly at the centre”
The rooms needs renovation, housekeeping needs to improve. We always had to ask for towels, toiletries & water for the extra bed (which should have been provided by themselves). I would not recommend to stay at the rooms with (06,07, & 08) in any floor as the view is horrible, you can see the dirty roof of the bank opposite to the hotel and markets.

Best part of the hotel is location, location and location. Exact at center. You can plan out the detail trip of the city. Food is not bad. But the hotel room needs renovation now. It's has become a bit more boring. It was not my first visit to the hotel.

Awful and Bad Experience at Centre Point”
The Experience right from the time I entered has been pretty bad. You are not attended to properly. Coupled with this I had a huge problem in my room. The door was not opening when I checked in. It took more than 15 to 20 mins for the person to come and open the door. After I went out and returned the same thing, it took half an hour to open the door. Similarly when I returned from Dinner it took 45 mins for the staff to open the door. All my complaints to the reception went unheard.My request for a change of room was refused quite unpolitely. Finally the next day the person came and took one hour to repair the door lock. Similarly I could see an elderly person coming to the reception thrice and requesting them to reduce the volume of Music being played as they could not sleep. Here again I saw the staff quite indifferent and did not attend to the problem. I finally saw this person shouting that he will call the police. The view outside the window we could only see State Bank of India and shops. Overall the experience was pretty Bad.

Stay in this hotel is little value for money.”
Hotel has a celebration hall where loud music goes on until midnight, which disturbs the guests staying in the room. Sound is so loud as if you are in the Hall itself. Hotel staff did not do anything to control the sound and I had to call police, who fortunately came and got music stopped.
