Hotel Excel - Okayama is situated in a very convenient position, just so handy to every thing one needs whilst visiting this beautiful city. It is surrounded by good restaurants all within walking distant, The Symphony Hall is just across the road and is well worth a visit. A grocery store that is open from 9AM until late evening has a good range of needs including fresh meals, liquor section and much more. The covered shopping street is adjacent and is a must see. The manager and staff of Hotel Excel are friendly, helpful and attended to any requests for anything from information on Okayama to any Hotel needs you may have. Views are fantastic , my favourite being to watch the castle , with a back drop of mountains behind it, appear each morning out of the mists at dawn and slowly become 3D - fantastic - I watched this happen everyday of the two weeks we were there. I do highly recommend this Hotel (and the Hotel Excel chain in other cities and towns in Japan).

your own massage chair in your room is exceptional ”
The hotel was very near tram station, so it was great location. We felt lucky because our room was facing to Okayama Castle and moreover we got our own massage chair inside the room!! Can't be more thankful to get a free massage after a long walk.. The staff was really helpful since we're asking for a package box to send our overbaggage items back to our country, unfortunately the box is only for Japan sent items only so we cancel the box. But the staff keep being polite with smile, sorry for troubling you. It was great experience in this hotel.

Quiet and cozy lodging”
This hotel is 3 street car stops away from Okayama station. The street car entrance is really small, so it isn't advisable to bring big luggages. Backpack would be good though. I didn't realise that the hotel stay hadn't been paid off, and had a little hiccup when I checked out. It would be better for the payment slip to be stated as payment instead of deposit. Or as least we could be reminded again when we checked in. Other than that little episode, the 2-night stay was great! Love it :)

very near the famous park, at the same time, it is only about 1 km away from the Okayama JR station, taking the tram or walking are both fine hotel itself is simple but very clean, hope the sir-con in the hallway and laundry room could be a bit stronger. other than that, everything is fine

Good location, cleanliness”
I was there for three nights and my stay was comfortable. It's located just about 12 min walk away from Okayama station and a tram runs from the hotel to the station and other parts of town. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. The room service was relatively cheap. It's an ideal hotel for a business traveler who wishes for something a little better than business hotels. Would stay there next time.

Room area is acceptable but very clean, good location as just around 10 mins walk to the Okayama Castle, but by means that it stays at the other end of shopping area. It takes around 15 to 20 mins walk from JR station to the hotel, so if having a lot of luggage travelers, better take a taxi there.

The hotel is located right next to the okayama castle, and korakuen (famous japanese garden park). It's straight down the street from the okayama train station. We liked it. better than other hotels in okayama for the same price.

Typical no frills business hotel located very close to the main sights ( 5 minutes to castle and garden) and easily accessible by public transport ( 5-10 minutes ,3 stops by tram from the train station). The breakfast buffet - mainly Asian - was excellent. Those Staff who speak English are very friendly and helpful .Make enquiries in the evening- at least at the time I was there the likelihood to find English speaking staff in the evening was much higher than in the morning.

The hotel is really near to Okayama castle and is just a 200 yen tram-ride away from the station. If you're walking and dragging big baggage do ride the tram as it's 15-20 minutes walk. No complain whatsoever with the hotel. It's a standard business hotel that doesn't try to outdo itself.

The hotel is a little bit dated but I love the 60's feel. Room was spacious and clean. Excellent French restaurant, Table Harada, by the side of the hotel.

it was nice staying here, big and clean room and provide the massage sofa in room, we love it. the hotel was easy to find and just wlak 2 mins to the castle and others attractions!!

Good stay - great location close to the tram stop and castle. There's also a great burger place opposite the hotel. Would recommend this hotel.
