It is a very nice hotel with lake view indeed and good location. Direction: After you go out of Toyako onsen bus terminal, you turn right, you just across the Main Street; then go straight with small and short street; the hotel is in front of you. Meals: good breakfast and dinner View: direct lake view Staff: so nice Onsen: nice bathtub and cleanliness We will come back later and recommend to other visitors. Regards, Bao Hang

Good Stay”
Traditional onsen hotel with valet parking. During check in, the staff went through lots of information with us, which we feel is too much to absorb. Would prefer they put the information in the room as well for us to refer to. Also, during check in, we have to choose the dinner time slot and the breakfast slot. The meals were in the dining hall, prepared and all ready. We were in awe at the dinner spread. For those not too adventurous, the Japanese traditional food may not be appealing. We tried and enjoyed the food. Breakfast was also served in the same dining hall. Bath has to be taken at the big onsen. From the room, we can view the fireworks, or we can choose to take a few minutes’ walk to the lake to watch the fireworks. The room is big, but after setting up 3 futons, there is barely any walking space. The sign to the hotel is not prominent; we took a while to locate the hotel even with a GPS.

Very friendly staff, very convenient location. So close to bus terminal and ferry station. However a bit further from the popular shopping street. Facilities are quite dated, but it's very clean. Still worth the money.

Excellent location and meals”
The hotel has a great location and provides a wonderful view of the lake. Had a nice walk along the lake to view the fireworks show. We enjoyed the onset and the variety and quality of the meals.

Although the price was a little bit expensive, but the breakfast and dinner plus the onsen was value for money. If you stay at this hotel, don't forget to take the outdoor onsen, and don't miss the fireworks at 8.45pm.

Good hotel with onsen besides Lake Toya”
Very good hotel with onsen. Parking is available on-site and the hotel is very easy to locate. View of Lake Toya from the room is magnificent. Dinner and breakfast is good. The hotel is able to accommodate our request for seafood meals.

Old but ok”
Just a corner away from Toyoko onsen bus terminal. (1 minute walk). Cheap hotel. Value for money if you just want a place to sleep. The hotel is very old and it looks really really old inside and outside. Onsen is located in the building underground with no window. So, if you want to have onsen with toya lake view, you have to pick somewhere else. Also, it looks old and scary a bit. Room: no hair dryer in room but provided in onsen. / lake view from the room is beautiful. There were tea set with small japanese snack provieded in room. Staff: we met old lady when we checked in. She wasn’t super polite (like most japanese service provider would be) but not that bad. Too casual I would say... But young staff after that was nice and polite. To sum up, room is great, onsen and entire building is old. Location is the best. Staff is not to be expected. If you look for cheap place to sleep, ok. If you look for onsen with a view, go away.

The location is just next to Lake Toya cruise pier. The dinner and breakfast are good and on time. Taste good. Public bath and onsen is great. Unfortunately, our room was opposite to a conference room where they held a party. Loud karaoke up until 9pm and smoking smell comes in our room.

View overlooking lake from our room where also we could see the daily evening fireworks. A staff came into our room to setup the futons. Had a lovely restaurant meal close by.

Cant really complain, a simple hotel to provide simple accomodation, no bathroom attached to the rooms (we have to shower in the common bath area which is in the onsen). We only spent a night so its ok. Dinner was quite scrumptious.

Good experience of Japanese Ryokan style hotel”
The Toya Grand Hotel is located just by Lake Toya, with the terminal for the lake cruise just in front of it. The view from our fourth floor room was superb, taking in the whole of Lake Toya. We had a Japanese style room and were surprised that both dinner and breakfast would be served in the room. Both meals were elaborate with nice tableware and superb Japanese food. A dedicated staff provided all the room service including the rolling and rolling out of our futon bedding. It is incredible good value and experience in today's world.

The hotel is within walking distance to many restaurants and convenient stores. The only down point to the stay is our room is located at first floor, which is underground. It defeated my purpose of booking this hotel as the main reason I booked Hotel Grand Toya is to enjoy the lake view and also the fireworks at night. If not for the lake view, I would have rather book a cheaper/average hotel. Anyway, their onsen was great. There are 3 indoor pools (2 hot, 1 cold jacuzzi) and 1 small outdoor pool. Temperature was bearable, ranging from 39-42 degree celsius. Our first dip into onsen was enjoyable!

A bit old but well located”
We chose this hotel because of its price tag and convenient location. The hotel is very well located, 3 mins from the toyako bus terminal and along the shore of lake toya. The staff was helpful for our late checkin. The room was larger than expected amd had wifi, a kettle, and a fridge. There were also tea cups and a tea pot. However the smell when entering the room was stark - old wood perhaps. We got used to it after a while. The bathroom was small, old and there seemed to be some moød on the ceiling. Checkout at 10 am is also a bit early. We were a few minutes late but got a call at 10 am sharp reminding us of checkout time; it felt a bit rude. We did not have time to try the hot spring so cannot comment on it.
