As expected”

First off I just wanna say I’m not complaining and I’m not trying to be rude. After reading the reviews I still decided to book a room for one evening. In saying that I pretty much knew what to expect. The staff was wonderful. Polite and nice. Unfortunately when we got to our room our bed had dog prints on it. The dog paw prints were pretty clear to the eye. Again not complaining it was no issue we just called for room service for clean bedsheets. Housekeeping was there in no time to change the sheets. The bathroom did look like it needed to be cleaned, it wasn’t terrible but you can see that housekeeping is very minimal or maybe they don’t have a full-service housekeeping onsite, I don’t know. I will not post any photos on google only because I have faith that this place will easily be able to correct these small issues. The location was ideal for me and my husband. Not a far drive to a beach or chill pool hall. There was even a super target close by! I would probably book again in the future mainly because I did enjoy the staff and location.

Decent place for the price”

Overall this hotel is fine.. it's close to the freeway in Hotel Circle and for what it cost vs other hotels in the area ..there were no complaints--other than the beds are extremely uncomfortable; they are a thin mattress on a wooden platform. My husband flops around in his sleep and our wooden platform was broken and it was so noisy it was unbearable. We both work up very sore from the lack of comfort and support. Other than that we felt like we were going to fall through the bathtub floor because it was not firmly leveled but luckily we were on the bottom floor so it wasn't a valid scare.. We were disappointed that their jacuzzi wasn't working; but it didn't hinder the trip. The price point is good but the beds need to be replaced for sure.

We've had worse?”

Checking in was simple, easy, and staff was pleasant. Parking for the two nights was ample yet iffy. They share the lot with the hotel behind them so luckily there IS availability but not what you want to worry about coming from a night out. When we walked into our room and it was stuffy. They've obviously been trying to get rid of the cigarette smell because it was faint but still noticeable. There were no drawers or closets BUT there WERE two chairs nailed to the wall I guess as art?? Guess where we put our folded clothes - the chairs. Bathroom has no ventilation and parts of the wall was cracked. There was a light switch plate that was broken and I'm not sure if the fire alarm was connected? We saw wires -_0_- We read reviews of bed bugs so of course the first thing I look for when I walk in is ANY indication of bed bugs. Found none and had no issues on that front. I did though notice purple stain on our sheets - kind of like an old pen leaked? The stain looked as if it had been washed multiple times so it wasn't a real concern especially since ALL their sheets are WHITE

The room has a cigarette smell. All of the appliances were really dirty. We were unable to use them. Our second night there, we had to go to the office because our key didn't want to open our room. They had deactivated our key even though we had paid for two nights. The TV didn't work either.

Great Central Location but...”

With the proper management, this little hotel could have been the perfect budget hotel. But unfortunately the cleaning crew was not motivated to do a better job of interior cleaning of our room. And maybe having more frequent pest control would have prevented us from finding dead a cockroach in the bathroom.

Clean. Good location, price. Fridge and microwave in room. Attention to small details would really improve this place. *New towels. Towels were old and stained. *Beds were made with bottom sheet, blanket, top sheet. Should be blanket on top! had to re-make the beds. *Hot tub closed, caution tape around it. Pool was open. *WORST. TOILET-PAPER. EVER. So thin!

So so”

Well, let's start with Agoda first. Unlike some other travel websites, Agoda doesn't collect the resort fee (service fee) when you book online. When you arrive you will see a surprise surcharge! So make sure you take into consideration this when comparing hotels. Let's get back to Hotel Iris. One of my biggest pet peeves was cleanliness. Towels although washed were dirty. Some had black smear on them! We didn't have trash can in our room and I had to ask them to drop us one. Apparently, the cleaning lady had forgotten! Pillows were unbelievably small and didn't seem clean enough either. None of my family members felt that the hotel was following some form of industry procedure to clean the bed linings . Flooring was clean, shower was clean, the front desk guy was nice enough that anytime we asked him to fill up our bottles with water he did so. No ceiling light in the room. The AC unit was at the lower corner of the room, basically was blowing the table in the room and not us. I won't take my family there again. Good for travelers who want to sleep and leave the next morning.

Would not recommend.”

Would not recommend this place. This is NOT a hotel. There where cocoraches EVERYWHERE. The sink has mold, the shower would not drain the water, and the bathroom smelled like something had been wet and just left there for weeks. TV controller did not work which became the least of our worries. Random people where just sitting in front of the rooms seeing who comes and goes. Just not a great experience unfortunately.

Worst hotel experience ever”

I arrived at the hotel after driving 400 miles and then working 4 hours. I had no problems at the front desk checking in and went to room 249. I should have known there was going to be a problem when I opened the door and saw that the carpet had not been vacuumed but ok it wasn't too bad and I was tired. I needed a shower so I looked for the soap, and shampoo, no problem but when I looked for a towel , no luck. I went to look for the phone to call the front desk and again no luck. I got dressed and walked back to the office to inform them that I had no towels and that I would go to dinner and was asked if it was ok for someone to enter my room while I was gone to give me towels and I said it was okay. I returned 90 minutes later and checked for towels and again no luck. I again returned to the office and was told that they couldn't get me any towels because they didn't have a key to the laundry room. I would have to wait until morning. Upon returning to the room I also noticed that there was no waste basket, no iron the chair at the desk looked like it had been found at the side of the road and the bottom sheet on the bed had quite a few dark spots on it. I was expecting to be given towels in the morning and I waited until 9:30 before again going to the office where I was told that there was a shortage of towels and that they were currently being washed and that I would be given them later that day. I asked when the manager would be in and was informed that he would be working from 11:00 to 3:00. Unfortunately I had to go to work so I couldn't wait. I returned to my room about 6:30 Saturday night and went to my room only to again find no towels. Back to the office and a new person behind the desk. When I explained about my problems he looked on a clipboard and could see the 3 previous visits and confirmed that the manager had indeed worked the 11:00 to 3:00 shift. He said he was sorry and that he would personally bring towels and a waste basket to my ro

Room 103”

I’m not usually one to complain or even spend time writing a review, but I don’t want someone to make the same mistake I did. This hotel was so dirty, I wanted to leave the second I walked through the door but my husband is the easy going type & just convinced me to stay & get through it, considering we just had drive almost 8 hours & it was already midnight. The room smelled so bad of smoke. There was someone else’s hair everywhere. I stepped on the back of an earring barefoot which hurt! (Like they just didn’t sweep the whole room at all. There was little pieces of trash left behind. An open container left in the fridge. There were cobwebs on the ceiling, random tape on the ceiling. The little packages of soap they leave for shampoo & conditioner were already opened & used. Aside from how dirty it was, I would expect everything to be a little bit newer & updates or replaced for the money you pay. The bed was so old & seemed like it could fall apart. A hard king size bed on a queen box. The curtains had stains. The fridge was falling apart. The lamp shades had lots of tears. There was rust & caked dirt on the bathroom floors. Luckily I over packed & brought my own everything including blankets & towels because I didn’t feel comfortable using their stuff & I walked around with my slippers the entire time :/ the jacuzzi bath tub was the ONLY awesome thing about the room! But I cleaned it before using it just in case… I also felt the need to write this review because I am pregnant & just the thought of having kids & coming to this hotel, I would have been seven more upset & definitely just asked for a refund & stayed somewhere else. This hotel is not worth the amount you pay & like I said only good thing about it is the jacuzzi tub. But be prepared to clean & bring your own stuff to use! :(

NOT ACCEPTABLE”

Currently staying here. Fridge in room is broken leaking everywhere and the linen and room was dirty. They charged my wife’s card and my card. The room looks nothing like the picture online. Stay away and save your money. This is NOT “luxury” as they say.
