Perfect Area!”
Second 6 day stay & no complaints. Still a great price in a great area for eating shopping exploring & relaxing! I was on the 5th floor this time with a double bed & it was much bigger then the single room on the 2nd floor especially bathroom wise! A new 7/11 is on the corner now so extremely quick grab & go & even nicer it’s right on your way to Goin Station. I plan on staying again on my next trip given the area it’s in & how fast you can get to shopping areas to look around & get what you need!

Best Value for Money Perfectly Located Hotel”
Not only it is strategically located 3 mins walks from Gion station and 1 min walk from Kushiro shrine and Tochoji shrine, the staff were very helpful and friendly. Maybe we got updated from small double non-smoking room? We had bathroom and toilet inside our own room instead of what Agoda described as shared shower. Not sure if Agoda inaccurate or we got upgraded. Whatever it was, we thank Agoda and the hotel for such a perfect stay.

Good location but the room is too small”
Hotel is very near to Gion station (5mins walk). We arrived 1hour before the check in time so we left our bags with the reception and went to a nearby temple for short sightseeing. When we return for check in, our bags are already placed nicely in our room. Location is good as you can walk to canal city for shopping (about 5mins walk). However , the room is too small! If you are taller than 165cm you will not be able to fit the shower ceiling; you will have to bend down to shower. Room is so small we can’t even find a space to open our luggage.

Perfect Area!”
It’s in a GREAT area. A few minutes walk to Gion Station, the subway lines connected to the local airport (Free shuttle busses to & from the international to the local) a 7/11 being put in not even 2min walk/others very close by. Hakata is on the same line as Gion so good shopping areas around the hotel. Hotel was upkept/clean had free WiFi, some stuff was translated. I am a foreigner & didn’t want to be disrespectful so language wise speaking to the clerks happened like 3 times, I might be wrong but after leaving all hours threwout the day they always seemed to have desk clerks available. They have heating & cooling. The building is like apartments, take the elevator or stairs your then on the balcony/hallway with your room, free local tv stations available others you pay for. It’s honestly just a great hotel. Priced great, great area, great staff. I just hate that I’m still not at the hotel & in japan, my next visit to Fukuoka i’ll be staying at the hotel again!!!! -Matt

Standard Japanese Business Hotel”
We stayed at Hotel New Gaea for one night. It is very accessible, a few minutes walk from Gion Station. The room was clean and spacious but you can tell it is an older hotel (from peeling wallpaper, marks in bathroom, tiny elevator etc). But if you are looking for a no frills place just for sleep, it is a quiet, accessible and affordable option. The staff was friendly.

Good spot for one night stay”
Just needed a place to crash after traveling from New York before heading on to our final destination. A 15 minute walk from the station, no fuss. Big bed, clean room. Bit of a tight squeeze with two suitcases but that’s what you get in Japan. Can’t beat the price for the amenities.

Good and Cozy!”
Overall cozy and good for solo traveller but might be quite small for couple as I can't even fully open up my large size luggage in the room 😅. Location is good as it located right infront of Kushida Shrine (1min walking distance). You can even use the Kushida Shrine back door to enter Canal City walkway. Canal City Shopping mall located about 5mins walking distance only.

It was nice because it was quiet ”
It was nice because it was close to the gion station and quiet above all. In Tianjin and other areas, it feels a little crowded. There are few people at the gion station and the subway is so close that it is good to travel. The sad thing is that there was only one person in English. And there was no bicycle. I thought convenience facilities including bicycle were a little short. Everything else is satisfactory.
