The staffs are very nice. The room type is like Ryokan. There will be staffs to prepare futon for you in the evening. The location is near bus station and 10 min walk from train station. The breakfast is Japanese style with many choices. I love the onsen that has indoor and outdoor pool.

Impeccable Service”
Staff were not only fluent in English but they were extremely courteous; they even held the lift door open for us to lug our suitcases in. Room was spacious, albeit old and some cabinets were not smooth to open. However, this was made up so much by the service: cold water was prepared for us, and futons were set on request for sleeping. Room was cozy and well insulated, perhaps because the public onsen is right above our accomodation. Breakfast buffet had lots of variations and was tasty. Staff thanked us for returning the trays, what a pleasant surprise. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

Awesome traditional hotel with super friendly staff”
We loved our stay at New Tsuruta. Room was spacious, clean, well equipped and stylish. Free onsen and included great buffet breakfast were our highlights. Not far from train station and big supermarket very close by. Staff was incredibly friendly, trying to help us for probably an hour calling airlines. We had a great stay, would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to come back!

Owns two hot spring sources at Hotel New Tsuruta. You can overlook Beppu Bay from the bathhouse on the 6th floor. This is a venerable hotel. The breakfast buffet is also delicious. People from all over the country come to the massage shop on the 1st floor for treatment.

Very close to the Nishitetsu Bus Station to/from Fukuoka or Oita Airport. Local and regional bus stops also very near. Few minutes walk to the JR station. Tatami room is spacious with Beppu bay view. Staffs are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast and Onsen is nice. Will come back.

It was a pleasant hotel, its a but old but spacious. Staffs were kind and I loved the onsen. It huge and the open bath has a good view of Oita bay. Its easy to find and near kitabeppu bus station.

Good location (but under-renovation)”
Hotel New Tsuruta is situated at the Kitahama Beach, within 10 minutes walking from Beppu Station. Shopping malls like Tokiwa & Youme are within 5 mins away. The hotel was under a major revamp when I checked in and the Main Onsen was not available for use by guests. So, bearing with the inconvenience, the hotel had made arrangements with the famous Takegawara Onsen (3 min walk) for guest access. Decent buffet breakfast (Viking-style) was also served every morning. Late-night restaurants are found in the neighbourhood.

Reserved for a Japanese tatami room with bay view and buffet breakfast. The hotel is kind of old, but in a good location, near shopping mall and many restaurant near by, and the front desk is helpful. The hot spring shower area is not too big, but nice. The buffet breakfast was not so luxury, but have many choices, especially Japanese style. The greatest part was the view of sunrise from our room, love it. Definitely will come again!

Our room is Deluxe Japanese style room facing the Beppu Bay ~ very big, good to put three tatami, still very spacious. Can see the beautiful sunrise from our room. Small size onsen on 6/F. Convenient location from Beppu Station. Value for money, we booked on promotion rate less 35%.

Great big traditional room”
We enjoyed a one night stay here with three of our children, ages 2, 6, and 8. The room was very spacious with plenty of room for all of us to sleep on. Kids enjoyed the traditional set up with sliding doors and separate seating area near the window. Breakfast buffet was amazing with great service. Highly recommend it.

Can’t beat the location: near Beppu station and the lively area of town. Short ride away from the Beppu Hells. The room itself isn’t anything to brag about and could’ve been cleaner but for the price, it was worth it.
