Nice location and nice facilities”

The location is such that I can walk to the Matsue Castle, take the canal boat ride, and also the food street for meals and tea time. The big bath and clothes washing facilities are a big plus, especially the bath is using natural onsen springs. The amnesties provided are very complete, from make up remover and other face products, to charger to yukata. The only minus point for me is that the room window faces another building’s wall so no natural light for my room. The bento for my breakfast (in lieu of buffet breakfast due to corona prevention measures) is way above my expectations for the rate I got via Agoda.

Tried out the new rooms in the hotel with tatami flooring. Simple and clean room with onsen available. Walkable distance to night life and Matsue castle.

i enjoyed my stay at this hotel. staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was japanese style but there was plenty to choose from, and there are many other restaurants and bars nearby. the room was small which is usual in many hotels, but very comfortable and the window could be opened to let in fresh air. it was good value price-wise.

Good value for a night”

hotel rate is reasonable for what you get. clean and tidy but tiny rooms. there is limited ability of english communication, but for a business stay this hotel is ok. in the evening, you need to go out for a dinner or drink. breakfast is typical japanese, which is good enough if you have had a good dinner. hotel is more than walking distance from matsue station. so, there a little bit hassle to reach the transport to airports.

Smallest rooms in Japan”

It was difficult finding a room this weekend in Matsue and we were lucky enough to land one here. The room was the smallest of the 40 or so hotels we have stayed at in Japan. The staff was top notch however. The breakfast was lackluster. The air conditioner was not very effective.

Good location”

we stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and it was a comfortable base for exploring matsue. it is conveniently situated within walking distance of the main train station, several restaurants and the main sights (castle, samurai houses, lafcadio hearn residence and temples). we were disappointed with the breakfast selection which had no black tea available. we also planned to have dinner in the hotel one night but as no staff appeared after we had entered the restaurant we decided to head out instead.

Was not happy with our stay”

we had a problem with our room ac and the window opened with the center attached in a v pattern, two whole inches. no cool breeze could come in and the fan that was provided only kept the warm room air circulating. complaints got me nothing but that fan. the room was tight for two,but typical of a japanese hotel room. altho you could walk to the hotel, it would be difficult dragging roll-ons and not being able to read street names. maybe a 30 minute walk, at least.

All the staff in the hotel were impressively kind. In fact, hotel's location, room's condition are so normal as you know if you have stayed in any buisness hotel before. Below someone said no convenient store nearby. But not true. There are two convenient stores nearby. Just search it on google maps, and you will find.

the hotel is a bit far from jr station and major attractions in the city. however, the staff are very helpful and cheerful. it provides free shuttle bus service to jr station but the last one left at around 10 in the morning. it will be better if more service is provided in the afternoon. no convenient shop nearby.
