Comfortable modern ryokan with onsen”
The hotel is just 10 min walk from Beppu Station, next to a nice park. Though dated, the Japanese style room is very cosy. Service was great and dinner (half board) was amazing . There are both indoor and outdoor onsen and having snow flakes flying down while relaxing at outdoor onsen was magical. Prices in the hotel "shop" is the same as outside, thus, a convenient place for hotel guests to shop for some local food souvenirs before packing up!

Clean, friendly, great Onsen”
We used this hotel as a base for 2 days to explore Beppu and the "Hells area" around. Good location only few mins walk from train station. Friendly staff. Slightly dated décor of rooms but clean, comfy beds, good size room and had all the required amenities in room. 3 restaurants to choose from in Hotel. We tried 2 (one Western, one Japanese - both very good and reasonably priced). The Onsen is large and very relaxing! Overall very good value for money.

Modern onsen hotel near the JR station”
The hotel is 10 minutes walk from JR Beppu station. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Great service. The grand spa contains one indoor and one outdoor pools. The hotel has an excellent Japanese restaurant. If you want to eat outside you will have to walk over to the main street near JR station, which has a number of great restaurants. It is frequented by a lot of Japanese and foreign guests. Access to other attractions such as Jigoku areas and Myoban onsen could be easily reached by the bus outside the JR station. However the hotel has been around for quite a number of years and certain minor areas in the room are not well kept and cleaned.

Located just opposite Beppu park with a 10 minutes walk from Beppu station and a bus stop right in front of the hotel, Shiragiku has a quiet surroundings yet convenient location. It serves a scrumptious breakfast made with local ingredients. Unfortunately, dirty stain on the toilet seat in our room destroyed the perfection. In addition, for the size and facilities of the room we stayed in, the cost is rather expensive: 25750 YEN (about USD 239) for one “non-smoking twin room of western style” per night (without private hot springs bath in the room).

Good location within 10 mins walking distance from Beppu Station. Bus stop just outside main entrance of hotel so convenient for those commuting on local buses. Outdoor onsen not as nice as depicted in website. Excellent staff service. Poor score on breakfast which is exactly the same every morning of our 3 night stay. Does not serve kaiseki dinner in the rooms which is another minus.

The service here was great including easy check in, check out and luggage storage. The onsen was great too. However, make sure you check how many people are staying when you book because when I booked this hotel I thought I booked for two people but they told me I only paid for one person so I ended up paying for one more person at the hotel. But other than that the hotel was great and people there were very nice.

Good hot spring and food”
Hotel is located walking distance to train and bus station. Hot spring and the food included in the room rate is superb. Wifi is available but not strong enough in the room and cuts off after midnight. Staff and service are good but English are seldom understood at the reception counter.

Great Hotel with Onsen ”
The hotel is walking distance to the train station. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. I love an outdoor onsen at the hotel. Not too many restaurants near by. Breakfast is great!

Good spa (onsen) hotel”
Our stay at the hotel was ok, though this hotel would be more convenient for people with cars. The hotel itself is not located too far from the train station, but because most of the shops and retails are located on the other side of the train station, visitors may be more inclined to stay on the other side of the tracks. It didn't seem like the hotel had central heating or good insulation, so the exterior cold did seep in, in the middle of the night. The onsen for the men was good and spacious, although my wife had told me that the women side seemed small.

Deserve to recommended with caring staff”
Staff are very polite and caring! Besides, most of them can speak english well, so can communicate with us without much difficulty. Breakfast buffet is nice with lots of variety! Rest room of the hot spring pool is large and facilities there is good enough for people to take a break afterwards.
