Good property to spend a night on the way to Gurudongmar lake in a place like Lachen. Older people should avoid this property because of too many steps to rooms. Staffs are good, food is also very good & tasty.

People like us who travelled to North Sikkim had limited choices to stay. This is a very simple BnB and is on part with most hotels in this area. Views are breathtaking. But rooms are very average and need a makeover. Beds are hard, but I think you cannot expect too much in such remote locations. Staff were good. Food was nice.

Hotel Snow Retreat is the worst hotel that we ever been spent a night. There are no basic facilities neither in the room nor in the Hotel like hot water, power backup, decent bed, chair etc to spend a night at -2~5 C temperature. Manager, Mr Karzan, is very sweet but his sweetness is of no use. When help is needed you will not find him. We feel the reputation of the Agoda.com is in stake. So, please discontinue your relationship with Snow Retreat as soon as possible.

Good clean hotel & good hospitality”
we reached the hotel on 14th May 5 PM, after a long but memorable journey from Gangtok (120 km), which took about 7 Hrs. We asked for hot coffee for us and milk for our children, which us immediately attended. we were given room B3, which was on the backside, but still offers mesmerizing view of the high mountains and two waterfalls! Clouds seems to enter the room, if windows are kept open. The rooms are clean, had Flat TV screen (but Tata Sky dish re-charged only on daily basis), clean bathrooms with hot water. Only the floor was not carpeted and feels cold on your feet. This need to be fixed by the management quickly as Lachen in a cool place. Manager Barun Ghosh is a nice person. The cook Shailen Das from Siliguri was a good gentleman and a fine cook. Even the service person, Vishnu Saw, was a good person. Remember, Lachen is a remote place, so always carry tit-bit food items like cakes,biscuits,cookies,chocolates,chips with you. Food items are costly at the hotel, but at that altitude, you should feel grateful that they serves you tasty hot food.
