Convenient and Comfortable”
We are three in the group when we stayed in one room good for three people. I didn't expect much from the hotel because I booked it when the price was discounted maybe more than 50% of the original rate. But the moment we arrived we are surprised that the hotel has very good interior, highly maintained and very cozy. I will believe that this hotel is a 5-star rating hotel. The staffs are okay not too friendly but they do their job well. The room was spacious and complete with hotel amenities. I will definitely recommend this to anyone coming to Niigata.

Great hotel in Niigata.”
the hotel sunroute niigata was easy enough to find and the walk from the station was a short one. great staff behind the front desk greeted me and there really was nothing to complain about the room. an extra plus for the free coffee in the lobby! as i didn't have a computer with me, it was good to be able to use two machines in the lobby. had a comfortable stay in this hotel.

Aged but central”
It is a five minutes walk from Niigate station. Buffet choice is sufficient. Room(s) got typical japanese modular bathrooms. My room was equipped with a massage chair (which I have not used - maybe I should have) which absorbed some space. Room supposed to be a non-smoking room but for sure has not been always been. For the room, you still got a key which has to be returned to the reception once you leave the hotel. The Italian restaurant on 2nd floor (which lacks some atmosphere) is also used as breakfast room. There are plenty of restaurants between hotel and station (or in the station as well). Facing west on a higher floor, I had a nice view on Niigata (which is not a true beauty). The low price (at the time of booking) and convienient location outweigh the cons. If you like to give yourself a treat, look for something more upgraded, if you are content with the basics, the Sunroute might be a good choice.

It's near to JR Niigata station and close to local restaurants. Hotel breakfast is nice with local delicacies. wifi in the room is fast and troubleless. Room was super clean. I am fully satisfied..

Nice and friendly hotel in a convenient location.”
We traveled from Beijing to Niigata to stay here for 4 nights. It was a very comfortable hotel at nice location. Lawson, 7-11 and many other eating places and convenience stores are located within 1 - 3 mins walk. Very close to JR station, and easy to catch a bus or taxi. The staff at the reception desk are very helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed staying here.

Close to the station and its very important because hot springs in niigata can be reached by the train. Also a lot of fresh fishes and good sakes are made in Niigata. You can enjoy them at very cheap price.

my wife and i spent the last two nights of our 2-week trip to japan at this hotel. since we were already a bit tired after having traveled for 10 days, other than that, the room was ok. the hotel is a 5 minute walk to the jr station, from where you can 1) take a local train to some of the hot springs and shrines/temples in niigata (we did not) or 2) purchase a “hop on hop off” bus that has its first stop right there (we did).

Simple hotel in a great location”
enjoyed my stay here.. having lived in niigata for two years i was looking for somewhere close to the station as that tends to be where there are a lot of reasonable restaurants and bars. the hotel was cheap and clean.. the staff attempted english and with my simple japanese things were sorted in no time! would definitely stay here again!

No-frills business hotel”
3 min walk from Niigata station (use the Bandai exit), quite easy to find. No-frills business hotel, design is quite dated. Central AC put out hot air in Nov and the room got quite stuffy, reception told us to just open the window. Bathroom rather small and not easy to use - the shower has a lever that you need to keep holding down otherwise it shuts off the moment you let go. Breakfast buffet selection was small but varied - surprised to find curry, pho and even lychees there, they also served new rice from the recent harvest, and seasoned rice too.

Hotel is located near JR station back entrance, however need to climb stairs [no lift]. Relatively quiet back road, eating places and convenience stores nearby. This hotel also includes Shiseido facial foam as part of toiletries. Wi-fi connection is poor [like many Japan hotels].

Extremely well appointed, easy access from station”
We had an extremely comfortable stay here. The room was large by Japanese standards, with excellent appointments, free WWW access and a relatively large bathroom. The hotel is easy to get to from the station, and has good access to the CBD.

super close to JR station, sweet staff”
The hotel has a very interesting view of Niigata city. Fine pizza at 2nd floor restaurant. Staff doesn't speak a lot of English, but is very willing to assist. Free internet only in lobby, but very speedy. Free coffee vending machine too, which was a bit wasteful (paper cups), but really nice in a pinch.

The room we stayed at was smelly ”
Even tho we booked a non-smoking room, I could smell smoke inside the room. Tho I was too exhausted to request to change to other rooms, which I regretted very much after I left there. After leaving the hotel and returned to the next hotel, I smelled all the clothes in my luggage absorb the bad smell of smoking and I couldn’t get rid of it at all. I am very disappointed at it.

Pretty near to the JR station”
Going to hotel is a 8mins walk from the JR station, turning to the right from the station ground floor facing towards the Taxi stands and Bus terminal. It has many laundry machines at the side of the lobby. So if you need to do some laundry is good. Nearby the hotel has a Family Mart and many small eateries.

Stayed there for 1 night. Room was clean and nice. There is no wifi in the room, but they provide 2 PCs in the lobby for guests. Room rate wise is very reasonable.
