Spa resort by the sea”
This is a typical Japanese spa resort hotel by the sea. My room was a little larger than the usual narrow Japanese hotel rooms. I was in fact given a room with 3 beds when I was a solo traveller. It was comfortable and offered a small sofa and chairs and tables for a small gathering. It was a room with a "Shinkansen view" which literally means I could see the trains passing by only 50 metres away from the building. There are rooms with "ocean views" which would be much better. All the same I had a small balcony for sunny days. The staff at reception was particularly friendly and helpful. It rained terribly during my stay and, because I was tired from the long hike I had completed on the day, I didn't make full use of the spa facilities. However, there is a noticeable holiday resort feeling about the place, and I am sure that on a day with blue skies it must look wonderful as the hotel faces the ocean. I feel that the 4-star rating is slightly exaggerated as there is nothing truly exceptional about the hotel compared to other "spa" hotels where I have stayed in Japan. The bathrooms are the same usual plastic molded noisy affairs that you find in Japan. I would still recommend this hotel for its location and

Good hotel in quiet place”
Not much to see here for overseas travellers, more a quiet get away for locals. It’s an old hotel with massive rooms. Clean and functional. Staff were friendly. View of the Floating tori was cool.

Choosing to stay at 弁天岛 for a night is actually a sudden decision. When taking the JR from Fuji to Nagoya, I found that this location has a good view of one-side sea and one-side river, and thus choose to get off at this station. Actuallly there is very few grand hotel you could choose nearby. For this Ocean Hotel, I have to say that it is quite old in its environment and equipment, but not too dirty. There is very few restaurant nearby and more likely to be closed for some except weekend, and if you choose dinner buffet in the hotel, it costs 4,000 Yen. For the so-called hot spring, it is actually a public bathroom with a tiny pool on 4th floor, not a real hot spring, and only open in the early morning and late. You could see the sunset or sun rise at this place. Most of the hotel staff is friendly but cannot speak Engligh and I could only communicate with one tall guy wearing glass. It is a little bit embarassing that when I want to order something on 3rd floor, I have to go with the waitress to the 1st floor and ask this guy for communication. Also, the room guidance in English is really hard to understand with a lot of grammar mistake, just like directly translated by Google. This point is really not qualified for a 4-star hotel. During the stay, I met a lot of Chinese tourists guided by the travel agency staying in this hotel, while there is nothing to play with on this island and the only thing I could do is sleeping or walking around the hotel in the night. So it is just a hotel for them to stay for one night and kick off on the next day. Finally the breakfast is not bad with quite a lot choice from western food to 和食, but one strange thing is that you need to choose a time like 8:00 or 8:30 to eat. Guess this is to avoid too much guest attending at same time, but it will definitely influence you sleeping coz you have to wake up early and have pressure when eating. You pay for the quality”
It was cheap but the quality was not good. All you can eat buffet had plenty of food. NZ steak was good. Sushi, sashimi, and eel(unagi) were not tasty. Salads were fresh. The dinner curry was delicious but the breakfast one was not. I wish they had all you can drink plans. The onsen was clean but had chlorine smell. The water quality was not fantastic. The room was clean and had a good space. The views are a bullettrain(Shinkansen) and Mt. Fuji or the Hamana lake. The parking lot behind is half priced compared the one in front of the hotel. The staffs were not energetic but kind.

I was hesitant about whether to stay without meals or with meals, but after seeing reviews that the food was delicious, I decided to stay with two meals included. The breakfast and dinner were both very delicious. However, there were some small particles floating in the hot spring, so I wish the water was a little cleaner.

価格的に仕方ないんだと思うんですが、やはり、電車側の部屋でした。やっぱりなと思いましたが食事会場まで閉鎖的な空間での食事になるとは。バイキング会場では高い宿泊費を支払った窓側宿泊者はステーキだったり握り寿司だったりがあり安い金額の宿泊者が食事する会場にはそのようなサービスがありませんでした。支払い金額的に仕方ないとは思いますがあの差別は正直ショックでした。

初めての浜名湖旅行で利用させて頂きました。目の前に湖が広がっている景観は飽きないほど美しかったです。 ご飯の鰻はとても美味しかったのですが、後の料理はほんの少し冷めていてあまり食べれませんでした。 スタッフ様の応対はとても気持ちよかったのでそれだけでまた訪問したいなと思うくらいでしたよ。
