"We stayed at APA Keisei Ekimae for 4 nights, we searched hotel information from internet, we did not think it's very excellent location, but in fact it's extremely convenient for us, just walk 1 minute from Keisei Station, 3 minutes to JR station and Ameyoko shopping center, can see the Tokyo sky tree from the room. Ueno park is in front of the hotel, Ueno zoo just next to the hotel. It's perfect and value for money."

"This was my first time staying in a capsule hotel purely out of necessity, I rather reluctantly booked this for 3 nights thinking I was going to hate it but I had no other choice. This was one of the best hotel choices I've ever made whilst in Japan! This Capsule hotel is located right in the middle of Ueno's Ameyoko shopping street, a great little area to stay that is close to the subway. It has this great feeling of a day spa, with a nice big onset and sauna all part of the experience. There is a large TV room with these awesome leather lazy boy air chairs, and a separate quiet room with air chairs with personal tv's attached. There is also a massage facility on hand 24hrs a day (at extra cost) Food facilities are available through the use of vending machines which can pump out hot dogs, noodles, burgers and beer. The capsules themselves are pretty good; not uncomfortable but simply a place to sleep and nothing else. You must stay here even if only for one night if you come to Tokyo. The only warning I can give is that if you are a non-smoker you may be bothered by the smoking in the TV areas and changing rooms."

"I stayed at the Hotel Sardonyx Ueno for 13 nights in November 2014. My stay exceeded all expectations. The hotel is perfectly located. Not only is it a short walk from the terminus of the Keisei trains to and from Narita Airport, but also it's very close to stations of the Yamanote Line, the Ginza Line, and the Hibiya Line. As such, it's quite easy to travel from the hotel to virtually any place in Tokyo. Furthermore, the hotel is located on the edge of the Ameyoko shopping district, which is filled with wonderful little shops and restaurants and which is itself a significant tourist destination. My room was typical for a Japanese "business hotel," albeit somewhat larger than at least some Japanese "business hotel" rooms in which I have stayed. For those unfamiliar with the rooms of Japanese "business hotels," you should know that they are small, but highly functional. As a rule of thumb, if you are comfortable staying in a cruise ship cabin, then you will be very comfortable staying in a Japanese "business hotel" room. The staff of the hotel were very courteous and helpful. Although not fluent in English, they spoke English sufficiently well to meet my needs. Given my long stay, I particularly valued the coin laundry facilities on the third floor. There are two washers and two dryers there. Surprisingly, they were usually not in use. The cost of one washer load was ¥200; and the cost of 30 minutes of dryer time was also ¥200. (The dryers took a long time to dry because they were the condenser type, rather than externally vented.) The free breakfasts were better than expected. While I was there, some new options were added to the breakfast menu. You can now upgrade your breakfast for an additional. I found that I liked the new BLT upgrade option. At the room rate offered by the hotel through Agoda, all of this was an extraordinary value. "
