Find hotels near Bai Chay Commercial Center in Ha Long, Vietnam

ok... i have tried every single hotel in halong bai bai chai and halong city. i know everything about the hsitory of novotel here and hows its managed. it was built to be a 5 star, but they couldnt in the end so its a 4 star. as ive said before, you can call it a 4.5 star hotel. the price is great and the rooms are comftable with good internet connection. the views are...ok... i have tried every single hotel in halong bai bai chai and halong city. i know everything about the hsitory of novotel here and hows its managed. it was built to be a 5 star, but they couldnt in the end so its a 4 star. as ive said before, you can call it a 4.5 star hotel. the price is great and the rooms are comftable with good internet connection. the views are nice and staff are helpful. you are only about dong away from halong city, and minutes walking to the bai chai beach and market area. having stayed at every hotel this is the best hotel in the area. the only other 2 hotels that are comparable in comfort and price that i would reccomend is saigon halong hotel and halong plaza hotel. make sure you ask for a sea view room when you check in, normally you always do anyway. dont stay in hotels on a boat, why would you want to do that and be stuck on it unless your doing nothing else but relax and happy to eat from the floating seafood market. novotel is just simply "comftable" for everything you want to do in halong bay. key feature - the bathroom. its difficult to find decent showers in vietnam, here you will feel like home :)

Great place, I'd stay there again. Great big room, comfortable bed, cleaning staff were excellent. Great view of Halong Bay when you stay in a bay view room. People smoke everywhere in the hotel though and as a westerner I wasn't prepared for that. The food was great. A few small things kept me from giving top marks all round - carpet wasn't clean, the sofa in my room ...Great place, I'd stay there again. And - get this - if you take a beer from the mini bar and then replace it, they still charge you because all the drinks in the minibar has stickers on them, so they know if you have replaced them! Not okay for a 5 star hotel. We made a real fuss and were let off in the end, but you shouldn't have to go through all that hassle in such a nice hotel. All in all though, a great place to stay, in can absolutely recommend it.

This hotel is probably from the eighties and it shows in the decor of the room, but for us a good choice due to its location at the quieter end of Bay Chay close to the new bridge. Lucky not to have chosen the hotels near the Sun World complex, where the music was all too loud, some bars playing music blasting from the loudspeakers until late at night. No my idea of holiday entertainment! Avoid this area if you want to sleep and head to east to a quieter surrounding. Halong Plaza offers the best breakfast I have seen during my stay in Vietnam, absolutely amazing! The only minus was the backpacker group, who stayed up until 1.30 talking loudly in the corridors and banging doors, and up again at 6.00! Not much sleep, as all the noise came through the door. Overall this was a good stay, and there was a nice pool area on the second floor.

We arrived at the hotel 3AM in the morning for an early check-in, the lady receptionist (who woke up just to accomodate/receive us) is very accommodating and made sure provide our needs. She also did not hesitate to entertain our on-the-spot query/booking for Halong Bay Tour! We stayed here on the basis of a stop gap to go to on a junk through Halong Bay. I would recommend staying on the boat, but that has nothing to do with the hotel. it was brilliant and huge. with a reasonable priced restuarant on the top floor over looking the bay. The managers helped us to translate and came to the police station with us to make a report on our stolen belongings. That was nice. the travel agent was super nice and he took us to dinner at a local restaurant and the food was amazing. He also booked us was great. However the walls in our room were moldy and there is no wall decoration whatsoever. The best thing about this hotel is the staff - everyone is so helpful & so welcoming. We felt like they were our friends as soon as we arrived. The rooms are basic but very comfortable - comfy bed, good shower, good aircon, electric kettle in the room, quiet location. We went for the 2-star 3-day Golden Bay cruise and had a great time at a very good price. Staff also booked us a bus to go to Sapa and then changed it (with no cancellation fee) when we decided to go to Hanoi instead. Laundry service is 50k VND/kilo, not bad. Food here must be ordered in advance but is very good, well priced and has generous portion sizes. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel at all, except I wish there was another one in Hanoi!

Boats for halong bay are no longer based anywhere near here. Breakfast was OK mainly catering for Asians. But the standard eggs and bread were available. We stayed in Viet Nhat Hotel for three nights. The room and bathroom were clean. The bed was a little bit hard, but you get used to it. The only problem was the noise from outside starting at 6 am (busses, motorbikes, workers) - we had a room to the street side. Ha Long City itself is unspectacular but the bay is beautiful. The whole family helped us a lot with booking a Ha Long Bay Tour and a bus to our next stop. The Ha Long Bay Tour was cheaper compared to the same tour at other hostels/agency. We would recommend the hotel.

Overall we are pleased with this hotel. We have subsequently learned that we paid too much when we booked our trip around Ha Long Bay through the hotel manager. In addition, the view is not quite what we expected, we thought we would see more of the ocean. It was, however, foggy during our stay. The area the hotel is located is by the bay. Perhaps it was the low season when we were there because all the restaurants were empty and we saw very few tourists (which could be seen as a good thing). The room was clean and the bathroom was large. The staff is friendly and helpful. The price for the room may have been a bit too much compared to what you can get in general for this price in Vietnam. We're still pretty satisfied though, would recommend this hotel.

My friend and I booked 3 rooms and we were got upgrade one room which the room is quite large and comfy. Hotel is quite far from night market but still OK as located in quiet surrounding. However, the room is not well equipped with soundproof material so we heard some body talked in the hallway. Well located hotel in Halong Bay with good access to town and the major tours. The hotel will arange pick up and collection so there are no transport worries. Great views fro front of hotel. Breakfast was very plain but no worse than many other hotels. Wifi a but in and out. The staff were very helpful. It was the only hotel in Vietnam who insisted on charging me a do...Well located hotel in Halong Bay with good access to town and the major tours. We adored our stay at Viet Beauty Cruise. We actually travelled twice, once for two days, 1 night trip in 1 years ago and then again with my colleagues from Australia. We loved every activity about this trip, the staff so friendly, usefull, the quit clean rooms, mettress is very soft. We were really impressed with the welcome and helpful and detailed information abo...We adored our stay at Viet Beauty Cruise. We actually travelled twice, once for two days, 1 night trip in 1 years ago and then again with my colleagues from Australia. We loved every activity about this trip, the staff so friendly, usefull, the quit clean rooms, mettress is very soft. We were really impressed with the welcome and helpful and detailed information about trip received upon departure. The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful, and the food in the restaurant was amazing. Despite being rated in 4star boat but its service quality is qualified for 5 star and it really met our expectation, it was incredibly good value for money, too. We highly recommend travel here, it was just perfect. Thanks again.

This hotel is now well-maintained at all. The furniture in the rooms are old and not at all pleasing to the sight. The beds are dusty. The worst is the bathrooms. The floor of my bathroom cubicle is broken so I didn't take my bath at all that night. I was scared the floor might sink in. Thank God it was a cold night. My children's bathroom didn't have hot water at al...This hotel is now well-maintained at all. The furniture in the rooms are old and not at all pleasing to the sight. The beds are dusty. My children's bathroom didn't have hot water at all. This hotel isn't worth the price I paid. It shouldn't even be 3 star, not even a 1 star. I was very disappointed with this hotel. The girls at the counter couldn't even speak English at all. Therefore, it was useless to complain. But the location is good as it was near to the food stalls and the night market.
