Hotel is rather unusual being located in the middle of the Irish quarter of Birmingham. On the other hand, I was given a very comfortalbe standard double which was newly refurbished, the paint was still almost wet, all bathroom shower fittings new, looking over a park area. It makes a very convenient one night stop over.

The hotel was right around the corner from Birmingham new street station and situated right in the middle of new street itself - it was amazing value allowing you to live right in the middle of Birmingham whether you are for business or for a good night out. The hotel, facilities, location are all great. It's a good 4* hotel, has some dated decor but you don't mind it as it fits with the hotel well. The views of the city from the 20th floor are brilliant too. The major let down was the staff. Front desk and housekeeping. When we saw this we didn't really mind, we phoned front desk about having this sorted, they informed us it will be done. On our way out to spend the day outside the hotel, we just gently reminded front desk again and we were reassured it would be sorted. We returned back to the hotel approximately 8 hours later, there was no change. We asked front desk again to have this sorted, which for is tea addicts was now becoming a problem!, again this time the front desk apologised and said it will be sorted, we went out for an evening meal. When we returned again- no change. When we put it a bit firmly to front desk this time, the problem was sorted in 2 minutes. It was a real let down as he enjoyed our stay at the hotel but having to tell staff 4/5 times to do a simple task was a big disappointment. I would recommend staying here, it's probably the best hotel in Birmingham, however, a bit of a let down by certain individual staff. There is room for parking for a charge of £9.30 for 24 hours, but it is small, there is a 24 hour pay and display literally 30 second walk from the hotel that charges £6 for 24 hours.

Near to a convenience store (just cross the road) and very near to shopping district (just a straight road to Birmingham City Centre-huge malls with lots of popular labels) Superset store is HUGE there and many others too. Food-wish...the hotel is near to 'chinatown' with many Chinese outlets (but not recommended by friends to try out though). It is less than 5mins walk. Overall, modern, convenient, spacious and rather value-for-money.

This is a good hotel. Distance from New Street station is fantastic but its a shame the surrounding area is so grubby and run down. The welcome and checking-in was warm and professional. I should have said it during my stay to be honest. One of the main reasons for booking this hotel, apart from location, was its gym. I was hoping it wold be a good one and one I would expect to be in a 4 star hotel. But it was awful and useless. 6 dumb bells, 2 running machines, 1 rowing machine. There were 4 people working out in the room and that was over crowded. If someone was using the dumb bells, you had no chance unless you wanted to be hit in the face by one. It was the worst gym I have ever seen in a 4 star hotel. I did speak to reception about this and they said it was going to be refurbished, no date was given. This was the only down side to it and dont want it to over shadow what is mainly a good hotel

I went there after studying the city map a bit, and because the price was reduced (around 80 EUR per night). I had a room with a king size bed (absolutely comfortable) on the 7th floor. This leads to my perhaps only point of criticism, namely I wasn't able to lower the temperature in the room to below something like 23-25 degrees, although I set the AC to 16 degrees. (Windows can't be opened.) A receptionist told me that it may have been due to the location under the roof, and the sun operating. Well, maybe; most of the time it was sunny indeed. I didn't use the spa facilities nor the breakfast (but I did use the Starbucks in the lobby and was satisfied). The location was perfect to me for two reasons: it's very close to the city centre, and to the New Street train station, which is 9 minutes of a train ride away from the Airport station, and 7 minutes from the University station (my conference was at the Edgbaston campus). Of great value for a conference-goer was the electric iron and the complimentary tea/coffee in the room. The hotel also had socket adapters that I could borrow (I forgot mine from the Continent), and separate USB charger sockets (perfect idea). I missed some shelf space a bit, but was able to use my suitcase as an ersatz set of shelves... Needed to re-log to the wi-fi all too often (that was a bit irritating). A supermarket is a few steps away, and there is a variety of restaurants to choose from, in the vicinity. The picturesque canal district is a few minutes away. All the staff were absolutely polite and helpful.

We used the hotel as a base from which to go for a meal, drinks and entertainment. The hotel was perfect for what we wanted - good value for money, clean, spacious and central location. The room was as described on the website...ample size, comfortable and clean with a touch of luxury. The staff worked seamlessly behind the scenes to make our stay one to remember. The service was a bit slow at breakfast but eggs and porridge were cooked to perfection we had to ask twice for marmalade as this was not among the preserves on the table and ..oh dear the...The room was as described on the website...ample size, comfortable and clean with a touch of luxury. Overall though we had a very pleasant stay and would recomment this hotel ; especially as it is in the heart of the city and so close to Birmingham New Street rail station.

This was one of the best hotels I have stayed in, it was extremely clean, the bedrooms were generously sized and the bathrooms were immaculate. All in all a great city break, brilliantly positioned in the centre of Brindley Place, meaning the city centre was walkable. ...This was one of the best hotels I have stayed in, it was extremely clean, the bedrooms were generously sized and the bathrooms were immaculate. No noise from Broad Street and centred in the modern district besides the best restaurants and bars in Birmingham. You do have to pay for parking additionally though. However, I shall definitely be staying in these hotels around the country again.

I booked and paid in full for a one night stay to attend my Daughter's graduation. On my way to Birmingham I received a phone call to say that the hotel through a "technical issue" was overbooked and they were moving me to an alternative outside the centre. To cut a long story straight through Agoda I found another room at an alternative hotel just down the road. So when the receptionist at the AC said there was no rooms available in Birmingham he obviously hadn't tried looking very hard.

Tram station is behind the hotel and is so convenient to travel the New street station and city(5 mins), cost only 1 pound per person. There are few restaurants close by Dominos, Syrian, and one or two other fast food outlets. Room is spacious, toilets were clean with necessities. Tram station is behind the hotel and is so convenient to travel the New street station and city(5 mins), cost only 1 pound per person. There are few restaurants close by Dominos, Syrian, and one or two other fast food outlets. Room is spacious, toilets were clean with necessities. Breakfast was great with lot of variety and was mainly a western breakfast. All in all service was excellent and true value for money.

Our rate through Agoda included a full English breakfast and they were really hefty! The spread was substiantial and satisfying.
