We got this hotel very cheap for a one night stop over in Birmingham after a night at the glee club. For the price we paid (less than 30 pounds) we were happy with it, the room was basic but clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is a bit tired and outdated in the corridors etc but for what we paid we couldn't really complain. You get what you pay for, if you just need somewhere to lay your head in Birmingham and aren't looking for the ritz then this is ideal. A twenty minute walk from new street and the bull ring, its not in the best area of Birmingham so I would maybe recommend getting a taxi late at night if you're on your own but we managed alright on a Friday night.

My mother had to close the window due to the moaning and groaning, and then spent a sleepless night in a hot and sticky room with no air con. Luckily I had headphones with me. Of course it was not the fault of the hotel, and if it had continued the 2nd night we would have mentioned it to the staff at reception. The reception staff are great, very helpful, efficient, polite, great customer service. We didnt have breakfast in the hotel so cant comment on that. Will always check the price on this hotel when visiting Birmingham as it could not be better situated for a trip to Birmingham for those on public transport.

When we saw this we didn't really mind, we phoned front desk about having this sorted, they informed us it will be done. On our way out to spend the day outside the hotel, we just gently reminded front desk again and we were reassured it would be sorted. We returned back to the hotel approximately 8 hours later, there was no change. We asked front desk again to have this sorted, which for is tea addicts was now becoming a problem!, again this time the front desk apologised and said it will be sorted, we went out for an evening meal. When we returned again- no change. When we put it a bit firmly to front desk this time, the problem was sorted in 2 minutes. It was a real let down as he enjoyed our stay at the hotel but having to tell staff 4/5 times to do a simple task was a big disappointment. I would recommend staying here, it's probably the best hotel in Birmingham, however, a bit of a let down by certain individual staff. There is room for parking for a charge of £9.30 for 24 hours, but it is small, there is a 24 hour pay and display literally 30 second walk from the hotel that charges £6 for 24 hours.

This is by far one of the best hotels in Birmingham . We visit twice a year and always have a great stay . Front of house staff are wonderful , as are the housekeeping. The Week time breakfast is slightly better than the weekend and i mean only marginally. Best of you prepay when you check in for there's a 3pound difference in price as to if you just strolled down . I was with my family ( all girls and a young child ) checking out from hotel heading to London. We have a few big luggages and shopping begs to carry and we were on our way to the nearest train station. The front desk staff saw us in this situation and in his first intention he showed us short cut by leading us to the back door. As such, we managed to get to the train on time once we reached train station. Or else, we will need to wait for the next train probably in 20 minutes to half an hour. By the time we reached London, it was before 11pm. I'm sure if this staff didn't show us the short cut, we will be late for the train, late to reach london, late to check in hotel in London. This leads to my perhaps only point of criticism, namely I wasn't able to lower the temperature in the room to below something like 23-25 degrees, although I set the AC to 16 degrees. (Windows can't be opened.) A receptionist told me that it may have been due to the location under the roof, and the sun operating. Well, maybe; most of the time it was sunny indeed. I didn't use the spa facilities nor the breakfast (but I did use the Starbucks in the lobby and was satisfied). The location was perfect to me for two reasons: it's very close to the city centre, and to the New Street train station, which is 9 minutes of a train ride away from the Airport station, and 7 minutes from the University station (my conference was at the Edgbaston campus). Of great value for a conference-goer was the electric iron and the complimentary tea/coffee in the room. The hotel also had socket adapters that I could borrow (I forgot mine from the Continent), and separate USB charger sockets (perfect idea). I missed some shelf space a bit, but was able to use my suitcase as an ersatz set of shelves... Needed to re-log to the wi-fi all too often (that was a bit irritating). A supermarket is a few steps away, and there is a variety of restaurants to choose from, in the vicinity. The picturesque canal district is a few minutes away. All the staff were absolutely polite and helpful.

The city centre is within walking distance by walking eastwards, passing the Symphony Hall, the Library and the Town Hall. After twn hall, there are many shops and eating places. The hotel is situated in the partying area of the riverside. There are also many pubs and restaurants between the hotel and the canal.Hotel parking is expensive though at 14 pound for overnight up to 24 hours, but separate charges for different entries. So for the second day, we parked at the private carpark next to the hotel at 8 pound for 24 hours with multiple entries.

Overall service is very pleasant, English breakfast is excellent. This hotel is very suitable to traveller not only business and also for pleasure. This was one of the best hotels I have stayed in, it was extremely clean, the bedrooms were generously sized and the bathrooms were immaculate. The room was cleaned each morning with fresh towels and bedding, and the breakfasts were fantastic. All in all a great city break, brilliantly positioned in the centre of Brindley Place, meaning the city centre was walkable. ...This was one of the best hotels I have stayed in, it was extremely clean, the bedrooms were generously sized and the bathrooms were immaculate. The room was cleaned each morning with fresh towels and bedding, and the breakfasts were fantastic. All in all a great city break, brilliantly positioned in the centre of Brindley Place, meaning the city centre was walkable. No noise from Broad Street and centred in the modern district besides the best restaurants and bars in Birmingham. You do have to pay for parking additionally though. However, I shall definitely be staying in these hotels around the country again.

I booked and paid in full for a one night stay to attend my Daughter's graduation. On my way to Birmingham I received a phone call to say that the hotel through a "technical issue" was overbooked and they were moving me to an alternative outside the centre. To cut a long story straight through Agoda I found another room at an alternative hotel just down the road. So when the receptionist at the AC said there was no rooms available in Birmingham he obviously hadn't tried looking very hard.

The room was supposed to be " king executive" but nothing was as such. Reception room, cold and soulless, giving you the feeling of checking in a budget hotel. I would stay again, as another trial but worried about finding the same problems. Stunning views from the breakfast room specially when you are lucky to have a sunny morning, food very good ( had eggs benedict) staff very charming and attentive.

We arrived at about 6.30 to check in, this was completed quickly. We were advised not to put out room card near our mobile, which we immediately forgot and then couldn't get in the lift. The receptionist sorted this straight away. The rooms are big, bright and clean and the bathroom was a good size with a big shower. The location isn't the best in birmingham and it's a good 20 mins walk to broad street however we were going to the jam house which was literally around the corne so was ideal for us. We were advised to be up early if we didn't want to queue for the buffet breakfast. We went down for 8.40 till about 9.15 and there was no queue. There was plenty of choice if foods, juices and drinks. Check out wasn't till 12 so we could take time getting ready and then reception called us a taxi and advised us how much it should cost to get back to the station

I wanted somewhere to stay within walking distance of the Conservative party conference. Most places were full and after a couple of hours searching found the comfort inn which checked all the boxes. Its an older hotel but was very clean, the staff friendly and served an excellent breakfast.
