Regency Grand Suites

"My Filipina girlfriend and I decided to book 6days in the Regency Grand Suite and hoped it would be perfect for my last weeks stay in the Philippines. We were NOT dissappointed! We were greeted by the friendlest receptionist called Joseph who did everything for us from check us in to fixing the WIFI connection :) from there the stay in the hotel just got better. The location is perfect if you want to be central to Malate and it's right next to the mall. We stayed on the 32nd floor so obviously it was very quiet if you wanted to get away from the nightlife. The gym and the pool (very cold water ha) were great perfect to sit beside and relax. There are plenty of lovely Asian restaurants next to the hotel and the hotel is only short drive (100php) from Markati and the Fort. The room (a suite) was perfect it had plenty of power points (universal for 3pin plugs) a kitchen area with a microwave, kettle and fridge perfect for making snacks. The shower room was cozy and modern (don't forget to switch on the water heater) and after switching the water heater on the hot rain shower was wonderful. The view was magnificent from the 32nd floor balcony viewing out onto Manila bay and the cities beyond. The bed is huge but the space around the bed is limited but never the less its very cozy and perfect for me and my filipina girlfriend. The room also had a very modern flat screen TV with satelite channels such as HBO and PBO and other filipino channels. In short our stay in the Regency Grand Suites was wonderful and we shall most certainly be booking to stay here again on my next holiday. Special thanks to Joseph on reception who was amazing at getting us settled and was so attentive throughout our stay there. Many Thanks to all the team."

"tune hotels really have the formula down to a tee. the rooms are just big enough, but scrupulously clean and in the case of malate/ermita it is fabulously located. downstairs is a fantastic irish pub called "molly malone's" and this is a must stop in place with great staff, good food and wonderful company. across the road there is a top massage "time and zone" and if karaoke is your thing there are countless bars nearby, none better than jewel cabin diagonally opposite to the left as you leave the tune. we used the tune as a base and actually extended our original two night stay to five. we never tired of exploring manila by train, jeepney, tricycle, and foot. as a caution avoid the horse drawn carriages, or if you do succumb, set a price in concrete first. clarify that it is a total price, not a per person or a per half hour price, but a total all up. i reckon i paid enough to now own the horse and carriage but, hey, it was still cheap in australian terms. from tune (given there are no facilities in the rooms for food etc.) venture about 150 metres south along mabini street where over the road you will find a fabulous cheap cafe called "dq logan", open 24 hours and breakfast will cost you about ($ australian) for two. anyway, drink in the culture and flavour of this bay side of manila, we loved it and intend to return asap!"

"Booked since didnt know much about Malate. Close to LRT, right across from Robinson's Mall, and close to many bars, KTVs, and iconic locations (Rizal Park to even LA Cafe). Area can be interesting after dark; bar complex next to hotel plays loud music and simulated crowd sounds (it sounded busy, but in reality, it was a sausage fest) and if you are solo male, you will be approached by freelancers. The room was fine...good facilities (great pool!). Didnt try onsite food. Great Security, but not for people looking to bring "friends" just met in. Traffic is horrible in the area, so use scooter or walk to get around. Near many Korean restaurants and bars. "

"I have a review on this hotel for a four night stay. I extended for an extra night and the staff was good to let me stay in the same room. My review is the same as the four day stay. The only down part was the extra cost for one night versus the four I had, but the convenience was worth it. With so many negative reviews, I was set up for disappointment, but decided to take the chance. For the price, I chose one of the suites, so that is all I can review. I was pleasantly surprised and happy I booked here. The good and not so goods--> Positive....the breakfast buffet was one of the best I have had since I tend to stay at hotels that provide it. Lots to choose from and you can eat enough to hold you until dinner. Also positive is the location to the Robinson Mall....(across the street)....once you can manage crossing the street there is plenty at the mall....it will be a daily visit for you. Negative--> The rooms don't look as nice as the photos here, but they are very sufficient. Your rooms are only "cleaned" on request. Mainly just changing the sheets and new towels....anything else you need to ask. For example there were some small bugs around (harmless, but annoying to see) that I had to make a request to spray. Overall I would stay again....oh...and on a final note there is a great bus service across at the mall for 150p (3 USD) and cool comfort that will take you to the airport....independently owned. "

"This is my regular hotel when I stay in Manila. The rooms are large, the breakfast is good and the staff are friendly and security conscious. The hotel is located in a quiet street, but only 5 minutes walk to Robinsons Place, the major shopping mall in the area. It is 10 minutes walk to Manila Bay, and 20 minutes walk to Rizal Park and Manila Ocean Park. There are also excellent transport connections (LRT, Jeepney, UV Express) if you wish to use public transportation. The hotel has a lovely pool, which is in shadow from mid afternoon so you won't get sunburnt. You can buy a limited selection of drinks from the pool attendant. Breakfast is great, a range of western and Filipino delights from an a la carte menu. I highly recommend the longanisa!"

"It was our 3rd time staying at this hotel. Everything was great as usual. Rooms were clean, pool was refreshing, and the staff are very friendly. If I could give the staff 6 stars, I would gladly do so. Malate keeps adding restaurants, bars, and other fun venues, and they are all within walking distance. The best part is that the hotel is down an alley, so you are far away enough from the 24 hour bustle of Adriatico street, and won't be disturbed by the noise. A true oasis! Hope to stay there again!"

"we stayed here for a relaxing break. The hotel is well situated with easy access to the greenbelt and locally some nice restaurants nearby, aristocrats and cafe adriatico are both within easy walking distance. The club lounge was lovely with lovely snacks and drinks available. the service was very good and we really enjoyed our stay here. The breakfast in the main hotel was excellent - one of the best we have enjoyed with a really good selection of cushiness available. we tended to go for the English breakfast and really enjoyed the food. The bakery type items were also really good with excellent croissants and lovely bread. "
