Walk, jeepney, pedicab, lots of things are close-ish, we walked to Rizal Park and Intramuros with no difficulty, but it's also close to the LRT (Pedro Gil Station), where you can go from one end of the city to the other for P15. Anyway, we fell in love with the area, and the Pan Pacific only enhanced the experience. As a caution, don't fall in love with the room and the hotel so much you don't get out and about!

BREAKFAST is really no big deal, so better forget it (breakfast included "special rate" on some booking platforms = forget it also). About the AIR CONDITION: 99.99% of all negative customer's comments here are on the AC which is old, very noisy and not really adjustable. In addition to that A/C is directly blowing into your face while sleeping (management says, customers like it. I did not and spent 2 full days in bed with a heavy cold (from the said A/C). I don't know how many customers will have to complaint again until the management will replace these rotten items. Tipp: Rothman hotel belongs to the same management and is just half a block away. Rothman rates are almost the same, but the hotel is in most categories far better (apart from A/C which is the same model (but at least not blowing onto the bed).And yes, there are girls going in and out in both of the hotels (some comments were about), but it's very discreet, decent and safe (doorman controls all in/outgoing guests 24h ). This is the case in all hotels of the area. If you can't live with it, don't stay in Malate, you better go to Makati which is boring (and where you pay 3 times more)....

tune hotels really have the formula down to a tee. the rooms are just big enough, but scrupulously clean and in the case of malate/ermita it is fabulously located. downstairs is a fantastic irish pub called "molly malone's" and this is a must stop in place with great staff, good food and wonderful company. across the road there is a top massage "time and zone" and ...tune hotels really have the formula down to a tee. the rooms are just big enough, but scrupulously clean and in the case of malate/ermita it is fabulously located. downstairs is a fantastic irish pub called "molly malone's" and this is a must stop in place with great staff, good food and wonderful company. across the road there is a top massage "time and zone" and if karaoke is your thing there are countless bars nearby, none better than jewel cabin diagonally opposite to the left as you leave the tune. we used the tune as a base and actually extended our original two night stay to five. we never tired of exploring manila by train, jeepney, tricycle, and foot. as a caution avoid the horse drawn carriages, or if you do succumb, set a price in concrete first. clarify that it is a total price, not a per person or a per half hour price, but a total all up. i reckon i paid enough to now own the horse and carriage but, hey, it was still cheap in australian terms. from tune (given there are no facilities in the rooms for food etc.) venture about 150 metres south along mabini street where over the road you will find a fabulous cheap cafe called "dq logan", open 24 hours and breakfast will cost you about ($ australian) for two. anyway, drink in the culture and flavour of this bay side of manila, we loved it and intend to return asap!

I was pleasantly surprised and happy I booked here. The good and not so goods--> Positive....the breakfast buffet was one of the best I have had since I tend to stay at hotels that provide it. Lots to choose from and you can eat enough to hold you until dinner. Also positive is the location to the Robinson Mall....(across the street)....once you can manage crossing the street there is plenty at the mall....it will be a daily visit for you. Negative--> The rooms don't look as nice as the photos here, but they are very sufficient. Your rooms are only "cleaned" on request. Mainly just changing the sheets and new towels....anything else you need to ask. For example there were some small bugs around (harmless, but annoying to see) that I had to make a request to spray. Overall I would stay again....oh...and on a final note there is a great bus service across at the mall for 150p (3 USD) and cool comfort that will take you to the airport....independently owned.

And yes, there are beggars and homeless in the streets (see other comments/complaints). But if you expect a "Singapore scenery" here don't come to Manila. There are so many suffering (better you buy some rice and chicken or milk powder 1x per day and give it to a homeless mother in the street). Tipp: If you don't like street noise, ask for a room heading to the back side of the hotel (send e-mail in advance9, it is very quiet, whereas the front side is noisy. NB:: Riviera Mansion Hotel belongs to the same group and is just half a block away. But DON'T go there if Rothman is available. Everything in Rothman is better in particular the WiFi which is a desaster in Riviera Mansion.

As this hotel was only recently opened everything was as expected new and clean. The fact that some floors were still under construction, had no negative effect on the guests ( noise or dust) The rooms are very large and clean as they have easy cleanable wooden floor instead of a carpet. The included breakfast was served in the well appointed restaurant of the hotel and they offered a good and typical asian breakfast. Coffee (or tea) was offered and served directly by the friendly waiters as well as any kind of egg. Interestingly the waiters never offered a refill of your coffee/tea. The location is reasonable with the Manila Bay ( Roxas Blvd) only a few minutes walk away. The next access to traffic jam free transportation is the LRT Station Quirino 10min walk, or depending on traffic, an even longer ride on Taxi or Jeepney away. Nearest shopping is Robinsons a 5 min straight jeepney or taxi ride away. Laundry and supermarkets are in the immediate vicinity of the hotel... as well as night life... if required.

Upon arrival to the hotel, at first site, makes a person already welcomed by the two bellboys with their smiles an very willing to assist. The front desk however during the check in kind of took to long, there were to many staff using the same computer the same girl was using checking me and my friend in. The restaurant located in the Lobby, decors look great makes you feel like eating all the time or at least to go in and have coffee just to be in it. The food was ok, but, lacking the sushi, Toro, Hamachi and Uni. At least offer on the side for those who wants to spend a little more. During busy time like lunch/dinner time additional staff should be added to enhance the service. The Manager, a female, filipina, slim, should smile all the time, she looks like shes not happy and welcoming. I m not sure if she spoke english, but when I asked a question, she turned and ignored me. As for the Lobby Bar, the bartender was great, tended to my needs and very friendly making you feel at home. Only thing is, I felt the place was a little to warm, maybe just me. The Hotel Security was polite and not demanding like other places. The Hotel Taxi or at least I think its the Hotel Taxi Service, Mr. Daria was very helpful in providing my friend and myself the best places to go shopping including good restaurants to try different dishes, different sites for site seeing and most importantly, keeping us safe. Hope to see him again during our next visit soon. Overall rating for this Hotel is great. I will be returning again.

Over all a pleasant experience; a five star this hotel is not but a solid three in my book. It is clean,in a good location, some of the rooms are small but its a converted mansion so that's expected. Security will take down the information of all taxi drivers when they pick up or drop off and the door is locked at night security must let you in. I had a minor maintenance issue and it was taken care of very quickly. Hot water is a bit fickled so if that is something that bothers you might not want to stay here. Keep in mind if you book that this is in Manila and its on a typical big city street so if you walk just be mindful of that. The restaurant is very good and the prices are typical for a hotel but in my book its worth it. There are lots of places to eat well within walking distance. My only real complaint is the cable TV is unusable and would have liked to have that the one day I took a break.

The area is full of good eateries and close enought to Manila Bay to benefit from the cooling effect of the sea. Good place to stay and still be in the rough and tumble of Manila life. I would rather not review this hotel as I prefer there to be last minute rooms available.

If the highest score is 10 then I would give them a score of 11. Heroes Hotel have exceeded my expectations in a hotel. If you want the service of a 5-star hotel that would still fit your budget then just book your stay here. All of their staff are courteous and ready to help you with anything, their facilities are awesome (specially their bathroom!! All in all, we are very satisfied with our stay. I will surely return and I would love to try their tour packages. PS: they are also involved in outreach programs. Truly, service with a heart...

Second time stayed at Palm plaza, still my fav hotel in malate, location wise and the room size, ( mine is double superior room on 8th floor) , I would like to thank the receptionist letting me to late check out at 3pm without extra cost, ( selamat pó) :) like the bath room, shower area has a deep base, so no water splash every where while u having a shower,water press...Second time stayed at Palm plaza, still my fav hotel in malate, location wise and the room size, ( mine is double superior room on 8th floor) , I would like to thank the receptionist letting me to late check out at 3pm without extra cost, ( selamat pó) :) like the bath room, shower area has a deep base, so no water splash every where while u having a shower,water pressure isn't great but it's ok , plentiful of power points in room to recharge Ur gadget, good city view, BUT!!! It gets really noisy between 12am to 3am, loud music from pubs and night clubs around the area, light sleeper should ask for room behind but no view though , Few things has improved since my last stay, 1st is unlimited free wifi internet in the lobby, ( used to be only free for 1 hour) hopefully in the future, we will get free in room wifi, free in room wifi is my 3rd most important thing I look for when I book my hotel!! 2nd is the all u can eat buffet breakfast (350 peso),it's not the best but some day they have really good food, you can check the food first. :) Agoda is still the cheapest online website to book hotel in Asia and their response for booking error is really fast, GREAT JOBS :)

I was looking for something cheap that would house me for like 8-10 hours and I saw this place selling a room for 8 USD. I quickly booked it. They have a nice guard, and a nice receptionist.
