"The Mitsui Garden Hotel Gotanda is a 16 story hotel tucked away on a small side street off the main road. It us conveniently located near the Gotanda train station, which is a very short 3 minute walk away. The 16th floor is the spa and reception is on the 15th floor with great views of the city. The 1st floor is the Tanto Tanto restaurant which serves a reasonably priced breakfast buffet and is an Italian restaurant in the evening. This hotel is fairly new, modern and very boutique-like in style and size. We would definitely stay here again to avoid the crowds at the larger hotels. It is more calming and less hectic. There are many nearby convenience stores and small restaurants. We walk through the Tokyu store in the Remy building around the corner to get into the train station. The Remy building also houses other stores and restaurants including a Starbucks."

"Tobu Shinagawa is a nice modest, no frills hotel. It is up the hill from the Shinagawa train station along other hotels like the Grand Prince and Keikyu. It was a perfect landing spot for a couple days in Tokyo for our itinerary. It was convenient to the Narita and Haneda airport via Keikyu line or limousine bus. The limo bus doesn’t stop here but across the street at the Grand Prince. Not a big deal for the price and convenience unless you have a lot of luggage. Free coffee in the 2nd floor lounge with paid washing machines and vending, with bottles of water. Beds were comfy and room was clean. You have to give your room key every time you leave as it’s still a key system. "

"Stayed here for 3 days back in the first week of December. The location was great. It is very near the train stations (Gotanda) of two lines (Yamanote Line and Toei-Asakusa Line). There is a Family Mart located beside the hotel entrance, and a grocery store across the street. There are also fast food chains and restaurants around, as well as bookstores. The service was also great. The room was clean and comfortable. Things such as towels, toothbrush and toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, bath soap, hair dryer, mirror, sleepwear, slippers, and air/fabric freshener are provided. There was also a television, an electric kettle and a refrigerator provided in the room. There was also tea. The room was cleaned and trash are taken out everyday. The towels, toothbrush, toothpaste, and sleepwear were replaced everyday. They also provide luggage storage if you ever arrive too early for check-in (like me). They can also hold your luggage after your check-out. My room was on the 11th floor, facing the Yamanote line railways, and I can hear the Yamanote line train. It didn't bother me at all though. There was also a window at my room with a pretty nice city view. I did not attempt opening it because it was cold outside. The heater in the room works perfectly. As well as the heater for the shower and toilet. Washing machines and microwave ovens are located in a different (common) room. It's not difficult to locate it as there are directions on the wall and the elevator. Overall, the experience was great and I have no complaints."

"Their large rooms were neat and clean. The morning calm was tranquil to the ears and the green garden was soothing to the eyes. The staff in the hotel were well trained for professionalism and language skills. Complimentary shuttle bus to nearest train station was a plus and the door to door airport limousine bus service brought further convenience. A stroll through the green scenery from the hotel to the station takes 5-10mins. It would be a Plus in the near future to include Complimentary Internet (LAN/WIFI) in the rooms. "

"Great stay here, would certainly return. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Very close to Osaki train station and only a few stops from Shibuya. There are three large office buildings nearby, each has a range of restaurants and shops, as well as a supermarket. Lastly, I can recommend Hitosaji Coffee & Curry on the 2nd floor of the nearby Gate City Ohsaki, only a little cafe, but great curry."

"I was initially hesitant about this hotel due to its bad reviews, but due to the lack of cheap options during New Year Eve and New Year Day, I took the plunge and booked the room. For the price of +-USD$55 a night for a private double room near the station on the Yamanote Line as well as metro line? WOW!!!!! Really, you don’t get any more value for money than this. Additional pros - separate toilet, sink and shower rooms make your grooming sessions so much more comfortable. The free WiFi was fast and I had zero problems with it. Cons - ALL ROOMS ARE SMOKING ROOMS (regardless of what Agoda says). However, the smell is quite faint as they deodorises the rooms routinely. If you are still sensitive to the smell of smoke, theres free deodorisers and an air filter in the room. There is also pretty remarkable platform height between the washing areas and the bedroom, so maybe it may not be suitable for young children or people with limited mobility. All in all, recommended."
