Duration: 4-night (4Feb to 8Feb) Trip: Hong Kong to Manchester Great location with just 3-min walk from Manchester Piccadilly, a main train station in Manchester. It took around 19-min to Manchester Airport. Very clean with comprehensive facilities in the room. Looked up for few hotels in Manchester with similar price. This one is rare with kitchen and living room. Will recommend friends to book when visit Manchester. This hotel is another reason for me to visit Manchester soon. Just one point that disappointed me is some of the staff didnt speak English well.

Stayed two nights and it was worth every penny, the staff were so friendly and helpful and they made you feel like you were the most important of guests. Nothing was overlooked in the styling of the room we stayed in, every little detail oozed pure class! The only criticism was the air conditioning which didn't seem to work. We ate in the hotel restaurant 'Honey' one of the nights, and the food was fantastic, Nicholas our waiter was so helpful and knowledgeable. If you are in Manchester for a special occasion or just for some self indulgence then it would be a sin to overlook Hotel Gotham. Worth every one of its five stars!

We were delighted with our choice for this visit to Manchester. We didnt want to stay in the centre but wanted to be within walking distance. The location is perfect. The hotel is spotless clean and bright and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed for two nights. On arrival we were greeted by a lovely receptionist. Our room was lovely. It was bright and tastefully decorated with a free soft drink minibar provided along with robes and slippers. The hotel is located on First Street, a newly developed area with bars and restaurants and next door to Home, a theatre, restaurant & cinema complex. The are is still being developed but we are already looking forward to returning in the near future. Breakfast was good, the restaurant is bright and spacious and we didnt get that crowded breakfast room feeling. We had dinner in the hotel on the Saturday night and it was lovely. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Principal is one of the iconic building in Manchester, the interior design is comfy and classy. The breakfast is a buffet type and the variety is good. The room is modern and the ceiling is super high in my room. The location is very nice, it is just opposite to the Oxford road train station which you can connect to the Manchester airport. But if you consider the only shopping mall in Manchester City, "Arndale", is the Centre centre, then this hotel is a little bit far from there, but as Manchester downtown is not so big, it is still in a walkable distance of around 15-20 minutes. If you are a visitor of the University of Manchester, it is a good choice as it locates at the same road, Oxford road, of the university. Supermarkets such as TESCO and Sainsbury, mcdonalds, pizza express, Caffe Nero are available in 1-3 minutes walking distance. 10 minutes to the National express bus station where you can connect to many other cities of UK.

Found this hotel through Agoda at an unbelievable price....found check in a bit underwhelming as it was very noisy and took quite a while. We had requested a twin as I was travelling with a friend and was allocated a double....queried this and was told that they were overbooked on twins and because I had booked via a third party that i wasnt guaranteed what i had requested...however...the lovely man upgraded us to a room with the most fantastic view over the city with the biggest bed ever! Happy days! Mini bar was extortionate...but arent they all?! Room service however was very reasonable and we used this when we got back from our gig and the food was beautiful. So with that little hitch out of the way, the rest of the stay was just perfect...room amazing, breakfast probably the best I have ever had whilst staying in a hotel and the staff were outstanding...definitely my first to go to hotel in Manchester!

Lovely clean hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. Superb location for Manchester Pride......literally the Gay Village, us literally a 5 minute walk away. And a 2 minute walk to Piccadilly Square and all it's shops and restaurants. The hotel is right next door to a Whetherspoons, so we went there every morning for a very cheap but hearty breakfast. Will be using this hotel again as we often visit Manchester by train. The station is only a couple minutes walk from the hotel too.

we stayed at doubletree hilton in manchester for two nights. the hotel was clean and everyone was friendly, but for the price i would have stayed somewhere else which was closer to the city center. the location of this hotel is good if you need to be near the piccadilly station, otherwise it was a bit difficult to get to the hotel from and to other spots in the city. also, the name of this hotel used to be mint hotel, and many taxi drivers didn't know the exact location of doubletree, many of them would take me to the other hilton. i had parked my car at doubletree while staying there, the charge was gbp 15 per night. i don't know what other hotels charge for parking, but this seemed a bit high considering i am staying there. the other lots nearby offered similar rates for a more accessible lot. the breakfast at the hotel was okay at best. the spread for the buffet was very weak, and then you would have to order from the menu for the main entree. i have stayed at about 4 different hotels in manchester (4 star & 5 star) and they have always had a better breakfast. i think this hotel is great for a business traveller who needs a night stay in manchester and has to catch the train, otherwise, if your looking to enjoy as a couple or on holiday there may be better choices in manchester.

This is s nice hotel located in central Manchester. This hotel allows pets and our dog was very comfy. Many restaurants nearby. The street car station is very near. There is a street food market nearby. Lots of great shopping nearby. The area is very busy at night with a lot of people drinking. I found this very lively area fun. We noticed a wet spot on the carpet outside of the bathroom in the evening. The next morning the wet spot had grown tremendously. Obviously a water leak. When I reported this to management theý immediately changed our room while the maintenance guy came to look. I was impressed that they changed our room without a fuss. The new room was nicer too. I highly recommend this hotel. The only downside is parking. You must park your car at a city lot which is a 7 minute walk. The fee is £10 for 24 hours which is quite reasonable for the UK. We loved Manchester.

You get what you pay for. Fantastic location right in trhe city centre. I was staying to attend an exam the next day and it was quiet so no problem getting to sleep. Bed was comfortable and warm. The rooms are basic, no towels or toiletries or wardrobe,ust a sink and a shared toilet, which I had no problems getting access to at any time. I also paid for 5he shower upgrade. I didn't actually use it so cant comment on it. The price I paid was significantly lower than anywhere else even near Manchester. Basic yes, but value for money was there. Ideal for a bed for the night.

Stayed w/e end January for a show at the Opera House. Had booked well in advance so two double internal rooms were just £120.00. Upgraded on arrival for £10 each room for rooms with a view. V spacious and comfortable. Hotel has a restaurant and 24he bar, though we doesn't use either as we ate/drank out. It's about a 10-15 Min walk to the Opera House and about another 10 mins to centre of all the action in Manchester, so a great location. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Had a car park at the back, says it's limited, but we arrived at about 1pm on Saturday and there were plenty of spaces. Costs (c) £12 overnight parking which is way cheaper than NCP. Hotel have several with NCP. If their car park is full and u park at NCP, I get a 40% discount, which we coated after discount at around £35. So still better to use the hotel parking. Overall a great w/e and would stay again. Book early, to get a great deal - we booked in June for our January stay.

This is the second time I’ve used this hotel, while in Manchester for the football and this time I stayed two nights due to the train strike. The rooms are modern and clean though a bit on the small side. You have a flat screen tv , kettle with tea coffee etc. The shower as a rain shower too which is always a bonus.. location five minutes from Piccadilly train station. This hotel is in Canal st next to McTukys (great chicken & ribs) in the heart of the gay Village. Being straight you may thing that may be off putting but it’s not. No one will bother you so you just go about your business. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a short stay and will definitely stay again. They also have a special type of window to keep the noise out. Keith

So if your staying in central manchester you are probably trying to decide between the two hatter hostels. The hilton is cleaner, has a nice garden area, but is very quiet. There is a tv room/social area and kitchen area where people gather but not many people use it. If I'm staying in manchester after a night out or for work etc I just use the hostel to sleep rather than meet people so this is my preferred choice. The none hilton one has a better social area and you do meet more ppl, but its not as nice as the hilton but a lot more social. If you are traveling and want to meet people or have come to party stay here.

I booked this hotel through Agoda and had confirmation by email. On arrival at the hotel they had no information about our booking and they were fully booked. They went out of their way to help us locate another hotel for our two night stay in Manchester, not easy a there was a home Manchester City match. They tried to contact Agoda at the time without success. They told us that Agoda would refund the payment already made plus the additional cost of our new booking. On trying to contact Agoda this morning I am unable to speak to anyone by phone and email access is not being permitted.

ibis Styles Manchester Portland is an amazing property to stay in Manchester. LOCATION: The property is located at a 10 min walking distance from the Manchester Piccadilly train station and is conveniently located on the main road. The property is surrounded by cafes, coffee shops, restaurants and convenience stores, which altogether makes it a prime location, especially for a solo traveler like. All places of interests are at a convenient walking distance of 10-20 mins from the hotel. CHECK-IN & STAY: CHECK-IN was seamlessly good. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. They explain about all the hotel amenities at the time of check-in and were kind of take care of my baggage post check out as I had time to kill before my train left and I could explore the city without having to carry my baggage. ROOMS: The rooms are colorful and bright. They have a stylish yet warm charm to them. I was given a room at the top floor and was not disappointed. OVERALL: Go for it! :)

I stay for one week and very happy with the cleanliness of the room and bathroom. The staffs are also very helpful. I wanted to extend my stay for another two weeks, but the hotel was fully booked. The best location. A walk away from the Manchester Metropolitan City Univ, and Univ of Manchester is very close in 5 minutes walk distance. The Manchester Museum is a very close, and it's free. A convenient store is just right down at the corner, to get anything you need from mineral water, milk and snacks. Foods are very near: kebab, chinese foods, Archie's burger, Turkish cuisine, A walk away from the Corner House and Theatre at the Whitworth street. Those who travel by train from the Airport, the Oxford Railroad station is also in a 5 minutes walk distance. I will definitely return to this hotel when i visit Manchester again.

Stayed there for 4 nights for my trip into Manchester - the hotel is easier to find and only a short walk from Oxford Rail. Great value for money (though I did manage to book on a sale) , and with maccies/spoons next door, and more food a short walk away, best place to stay for me. Lorenzo on the front desk was extremely helpful and helped with a couple requests I had, absolutely PERFECT customer service! Rooms are the Novotel standard - spacious room, good bed, a desk and big TV to plug my laptop into. Would definitely be using the hotel next time I visit Manchester again!

Everything was perfect and on point. 5 Star service for Lonela Ionita , who guided us and provided local maps which was much appreciated. Room was nicely decorated by staffs and a surprise cake was provided to us. Bed was comfortable. Toiletries was well equipped. Location wise : Very centralised. Less than 5 mins walk to the train station and also to the nearest tram station. Would definitely choose the hotel again idf we are to visit Manchester again.

We had a great time. As said previously, friendly and efficient staff who were also knowledgeable about the area. Nothing seemed too much trouble. The overheating hair dryer was swapped within minutes of bringing it to the attention of the young lady, Lisa I think, a member of your room maintenance team. The room was spotlessly ran, the aircon worked well, though the room we requested at the rear was quiet enough most of the time to have the window open at night without the need of the aircon. After our night outs we availed ourselves of the 24/7 bar for a night cap. Though we ate out each evening, we noticed that a lot of people, particularly late arrivals, used the food service in the reception lounge, which also seemed to be 24/7. Unusual in my travel experience but a great idea. Checkout was also swift and efficient. In summary, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was a far superior offering to some of the so called 4 Star Hotels we have experienced in our travels do far this year. Well done to Ibis and well done to the staff at Ibis, Portland Street, Manchester. We will return.

Very satisfied with the hotel. Thanks to the good review given by other travelers. I wouldn't choose this great hotel if not for the review and ratings. The hotel is centrally located and just 4 minutes walk to a tramp station (which helps if you want to visit Old Trafford). And of course, Arndale is less than 10 minutes walk. For Muslim travelers you can find plenty of halal shop in Arndale foodcourt as well as along the way between the hotel and Arndale. Will definitely stay at this hotel if I ever have another opportunity to visit Manchester again.

Long black hairs in bathtub upon arrival. Lock on my hotel room door broken so could not lock room. Menu in restaurant is from a different Travelodge so many items not available at this hotel. Internet SUPER SLOW so could not use skype to call my wife due to the weak signal and even checking emails difficult. All of this with an additional charge for the internet. Very HOT rooms. Management unresponsive to the difficulties I expressed. Noisy. In general save yourself trouble and stay anywhere but here...

The check in staff were friendly and ensured a warm welcome was given. We got in to our room early which was fantastic!! The location for us was ideal for where we wanted to be in Manchester. Whilst I know there are cheaper hotels, we like to have a treat when we're not with our daughter, so yes I would pay this again. The bar food was lovely and Micheal who worked in there was great! He showed he had a sense of humour as well as a human side! We'd deffo go back!!

The Ibis is conveniently located to Manchester Picadilly station, just a few minutes walk away. If you're looking to go to the museum, art gallery, or just wandering Oxford and Portland st, these are all very close to the hotel. The room is clean, with complementary tea and coffee, and a decent sized shower in a tidy bathroom. The bed was comfortable, clean and they provided spare pillows. There is also free wifi available, which is useful for a business traveler.

Really happy with my hotel choice. Staff were very helpful and friendly, room was lovely and breakfast really good. The location was excellent! It was a very short walk from Victoria train station and the printworks and the Manchester arena was just opposite so was perfect for us. The swimming pool and facilities were also excellent. Would definitely recommend this hotel!
