Arrived in tagbilaran by ferry and before even getting off we look out into the city and saw a building that was higher than the others. Had a hunch that it was the Belian hotel but wasn't sure. We were thinking that if it was that, then we had scored because it was very close to the port. As we exited the port, it became clear that it was the hotel! It is a walking distance , however, like anywhere in the Philippines, you get tricycle drivers who would persist in taking you somewhere. And since it was hot and we were tired, we did ride the tricycle. Also saved us from having to carry out luggages. First impression of the hotel - very clean and modern. Especially for something in the province! They provided welcome drinks and the staff were very polite and helpful - we hadn't been to Bohol before and they were helpful in giving us directions and tours. Room was very clean too and so was the bathroom. They were both very spacious for two people. I requested for a late checkout over the phone as we were running late coming back from panglao island. But they were strict on this because they were apparently booked out. Came back to the hotel and we couldn't access the room with our key even with our luggages still inside. Had to go back to reception to ask for the key to be resetted. It was understandable that they couldn't let us check out late because it's booked for after but I would have appreciated it if they tried to understand that we only needed an extra 15 mins since we were to catch a ferry right after anyway. Instead she turned me down straight away. Also there were heaps of people who checked out even later than us. It was a very pleasant stay and good value for money. Another plus is they actually have a free shuttle service to the port so we were able to avail that. Just disappointing that we hadn't known when we arrived and had to spend money on a tricycle.

A night before our flight, my niece working in a travel agency recommend the place. I immediately call the hotel where I find very accommodating with all my inquiries. It was a first time for me to travel without any itinerary and no idea on what to do in Bohol. But this hotel made our trip seamless as if planned every detail. But this hotel made our trip seamless as if planned every detail. The hotel is clean good for 3star hotel, 5mins from tagbilaran airport, accommodates free shuttle and the service is like we are vip. The value for money is very good. Breakfast danggit is super nice, the pool is very clean and also the restroom near the pool. The staffs were friendly and willing to attend all our inquiries. We are allowed to check in earlier without charges. Our tour were also booked and arranged by the hotel. So you have nothing to think or worry about bec we find a perfect place to stay. Definitely will recommend the place.

I found the best hotel value for money in Bohol. Because it's new and food at the restaurant were fantastic. They also have free pick up if they don't forget... Staff at the restaurant organized very well. It seemed much different organized from reception erea. They forgot to pick me up and no apologized. I also complained for the slow services, but the man who seemed operating at reception area, he had many excuses. His way of service is Philippine standard. We foreigner never satisfied with his services. His staff should have trained by right person for the bed making with cleanness, how they wash the bed covers nicely. If you are also targeting for foreign guests... And I saw he was proud to sitting the chair at the reception, his way of speaking seemed very badly to other staff. I founded he works by his mood. After I complained about slow services, he ignored me when I passed through the reception even though other staff were greeting to me. I was uncomfortable to see him at the reception while I'm staying. Thanks for the good meals.

Great location! It is just near the port of bohol. It is walking distance to a mall and some restaurants. The front desk staff are all friendly specially to Vanessa and Jeanybelle. They attended our needs and answered our querries about the island. They are like family to us. And we miss them! Overall, our stay was FANTASTIC! The staffs are all hospitable and friendly. The rooms are clean and well equipped. We asked for hairdryer and iron even salt and it was brought to our room in 2 minutes. We were treated so well it was so sad to leave. Only booked 7 nights as not been before and a bit fussy. Rest unfortunately was pre paid for Hennan. Next visit will all be at Bohol tropics. Great value, clean, massive room and friendly staff. Pools good. Could do with sun loungers but what you get for price is great. Could hear music from room but so good we were happy with this. Richard cleaned room well. Hennon clearly focus on profit first but feel like Bohol tropics has customer as number 1. Pillows amazing too. Shower better than Hennon. Keep up the great work and we will be back.

I really had a very good sleep. There's also a lot of storages which I like the most. Aircon is also good but a little bit noisy. Tv is good also with cable channels. 4. Wifi/Interner- We we're lucky to stay in room 205 because the wifi router is literally outside our room so the wifi signal is really strong. But there are time I can't connect to the internet that's why I had to stay in the reception area for a fast internet. If you're travelling for business, it's better to bring your own pocket wifi because their internet is unpredictable. Sometimes it's super fast but sometimes it's close to nothing :( 5. Facilities: Restaurant is okay. And they have a swimming pool. But for those who are travelling with elderly or pwd, the hotel does not have elevator :( Also, make sure to load your cellphone because they can't call outside Bohol. :( 6. We spent the entire week of October 13, 2018 at this hotel, the El Portal Inn. Breakfast, both the included with the room and the regularly available breakfast we're very good. This hotel is great for couples, singles, families, and for business groups and meetings. If you can, try to get the bigger Deluxe Queen Bed, Windowed, room. However, all the rooms are good. I am an American on extended vacation in the Philippines with NO prior relationship with this hotel or any staff member I also have never before posted a hotel review. The El Portal Inn impressed me that much to make me want to share my pleasant hotel experience.

We extended our stay because we were stranded in Bohol by a Typhoon and we could not depart the island. We made a decision to upgrade to Penthouse suite as we were a group. The suites can normally sleep 4 or maximum of 6. This made all the difference. Everything was good. Staff were very polite and helpful and we had much more space to move about. The hotel is located at the heart of Tagbilaran City and is very near to the Tagbilaran airport. We went to Panda Tea Garden Suites, we were so happy because the rooms were almost the same quality of that of MetroCentre Hotel. I am very very satisfied with my stay here, considering the very ugly hotels and inns of the same price. It's also a five minute walk away from the biggest mall in Bohol, Island City Mall or more commonly referred to as ICM. I will definitely book this hotel again!

the guide books refer to la roca's "faded splendour" - well, definitely faded now. but the worn feel is compensated by friendly staff, and reasonable service, as well as an excellent location in tagbilaran within walking distance of the ubiquitous shopping mall. the hotel swimming pool was clean, but if you have children do bear in mind that like many pools in bohol,...the guide books refer to la roca's "faded splendour" - well, definitely faded now. but the worn feel is compensated by friendly staff, and reasonable service, as well as an excellent location in tagbilaran within walking distance of the ubiquitous shopping mall. the hotel swimming pool was clean, but if you have children do bear in mind that like many pools in bohol, this is not child-friendly...there is no separate toddlers section and none of the usual health/safety apsects of a beritish pool. but thats true of most resort hotels here. breakfast was reasonable and included in the price. good value. but its hard to imagine this was the "gold standard" of hotels when the bohol hotel industry began!

Besides the AC was really loud, the size of the room actually is really big comparing to normal philippine's economic type of hotel. A bit old fashioned, but very neat and clean. Some features are old but still functional well.. But, yes, the AC was too loud I had to turn it off when I felt a bit cooling down. Very friendly and understanding staff. Very close to the panglao island..but far from alona beach so don't think Bohol island is small like boracay...but the tricycle is very convenient.. If u like local experiences. Not a place for luxury enjoyment but definitely good for transit and I would spend another time there in Bohol again...the price is really good for the condition...
