1775 Adriatico Suites
Malate,Metropolitan Museum of Art - View on map
"It was our 3rd time staying at this hotel. Everything was great as usual. Rooms were clean, pool was refreshing, and the staff are very friendly. If I could give the staff 6 stars, I would gladly do so. Malate keeps adding restaurants, bars, and other fun venues, and they are all within walking distance. The best part is that the hotel is down an alley, so you are far away enough from the 24 hour bustle of Adriatico street, and won't be disturbed by the noise. A true oasis! Hope to stay there again!"

"my stay at hotel was good, easy for shops and convenience for food and resturants, staff was polite, i found that television in the room could have been better, it was a old square box tv, instead of a flat screen, not sure what other room would have been like as it was my first time, reception on some television programs wasn't there so miss out on some movie channels, need better satellite for reception to watch things, security was always greating when coming in and out of hotel, provided great service always looked after your needs like taxi or help, and asking how you where, hotel staff was great with help with a towel even though you have to bring your own, free water down stairs in wifi area, all u need is bottle, rooms need a fridge because i like cold water or drinks, and cafe shop down stairs was great after 8am for breckie always need a coffee in the morning plus cafe shop was like five stars for a place to go to for a snack like cakes or optional drinks, and shared bathroom was ok a few problems like blocked drains in one shower plus sometimes no hot water but sometimes dont need it as it hot in the bathroom anyways and hand soap for sinks to wash your hands was watered down, it was like just washing your hands with water not soap, so i always had to grab my own soap i bought to clean my hands, other than that great if your not the type of person who is fussy then great, but everything else is there."

Victoria Court Malate Motorist Lodge

"The staffs were very friendly and polite, the best among other hotels i stayed in Philippines. The rooms were attractive and beautiful, well decorated with many themes. The free breakfast was great as i could separate the 2 people portions to 1 portion (as it was only me) at different times, even at night! They offered other attractive good food too. The first room had very dirty and sticky floor and older towels but after i requested a change on second day, the new room was clean and towels were new."

Hop Inn Hotel Ermita Manila
Malate,Metropolitan Museum of Art - View on map
"Noise comes each night from aqua pool parties across the street.we stayed on 9th floor facing Bay. No phone in room didnt think noises would be problem on 9th floor. Party has loud speakers on until party ends at 6a.m. this gives only a couple of hours for quiet sleep time. 2 key cards, 1 is used to keep lights and air on in room. Great view of Bay both day and night from room 925. 7/11 next door. Cocomoon restaurant/bar opens at 3p.m. coffee shop next door has limited selection of food and no rice. Noodles only and simple sandwiches. Walking distance to Pharmacy, Jolibee, shakeys, Max's, Aristocrat and Sunday Church service. Jeepny to museums and zoo in the area. Walk to Robertson mall. Ride to SM Mall of Asia. Best price on Agoda app. Lots of beggers and bars/bar girls on the next street south of Hop Inn. Don't walk alone and be observant at all times. I walked alone 1 time going to McDonald's and was approached by bar girls and barkers to come into bar. My fiance felt afraid alone."

Hotel Sogo Quirino Motor Drive Inn
Malate,Metropolitan Museum of Art - View on map
"Interesting stay.. I had stayed at the adjoining Sogo before and thought I would give the drive thru version a try.. Location is good.. in the heart of Malate.. plenty of taxi's and jeeps nearby and three nearby 7/11's. The first room I was given (Deluxe) there was no wi-fi but the staff were quick to help me move to a room closer to a router so this problem was overcome with a minimum fuss. The new room (Executive) was much larger and much better.. If making a booking pay the tiny amount extra for an Executive room. These hotels are not really targeting longer term guests.. the majority of customers are renting rooms by the hour.. having said that I disagree with some of the other reviews and think they are still good places to stay if you are on a budget. Once you know how things work. it's not a big deal to let reception know that you are going out.. they in turn notify the guard that you are leaving and not trying to split without paying the bill. This particular branch is more set up for drive in drive out customers the adjoining one in Mabini St is probably better equipped for walk in guests. The room will be cleaned upon request.. Executive rooms have an in-room safe.. The floors and bathroom needed a good clean but apart from that my stay was fine.. Helpful staff & fast good value room service were the best points."

Hotel Sogo Malate
Malate,Metropolitan Museum of Art - View on map
"Our stay at Sogo Hotel was pleasant. We had the "Executive" room and although small, you get what you pay for. We were in Room 240 facing the rear of the building. Breakfast is 180 pesos. There is a daily buffet from 6 AM to 10 AM with a variety of Filipino foods, but also Western foods too like scrambled eggs, toast & jam, corn flakes and milk, and juice. Sticky rice is ALWAYS available and VERY GOOD. The coffee is brewed in a drip coffeemaker. Bananas are usually available. There is 1 elevator for the hotel that does not stop on 2. To get to our room we had to either take the elevator to the 3rd floor and walk down one flight or walk up one flight through the door next to the front desk. Inconvenient, but good exercise. All the girls of the front desk were VERY polite and ALWAYS helpful. Not all in-room safes work, but this one did. There are safe deposit boxes at the front desk. Available shelf space is by the house telephones for privacy when you need be in your box. No fridge or electric kettle in this size room, so we bought a nice stainless steel one for 715 pesos at Robinsons' Dep't Store on Pedro Gil. Call down to the front desk and they will send up a FREE ice bucket upon request. Robinsons is a bit of a hike from the hotel, but you can take a jeepney north on Mabini Street to Pedro Gil for 8 pesos. You can flag one down right outside the front door. There is a 7-11 across the street, so if you need a quick purchase they are open 24 hours. They have tables and benches in front to sit at and talk with the locals. We booked 4 7-day reservations which I would recommend. If something goes wrong, you then have the option of cancelling a future week's booking. The bathroom is NOT very large, there are no shelves. There is ONLY ONE electric outlet. That's it, 1. We were constantly changing our plug-ins coz we had 2 cell phones, a laptop, the electric kettle, and a rechargable battery device. A 2nd outlet would have been nice."
