Got a single, smoking room. Very nice room no complaints. My first time in Japan and this business hotel is located near a major train station, Nippori Station. Very convenient to travel to just about anywhere in Tokyo and to and from Narita Airport. Might be confusing at first to use their train and metro but then I have my best friend with me which is Google Maps and Japan Travel apps and it made my solo trip seamless when it comes to trasportation. Lot’s of restaurants nearby, convenient stores and drugstores that sells almost anything you might need. Yanaka Ginza, a quaint landmark in Tokyo is very near, about 15 mins walk from the hotel which I explored on the last day of my trip. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel because of its customer service and convenience, though as you have read in other reviews that the rooms are small, and it is, might need a lot of manuevering around for 2 people but over all it was good experience for me. Yes!! Just book this hotel 😀😀

Hotel is near to train stations. Walking distance to ameyoko where you could do shopping of chocolates, seafoods, etc. Lots of eatery too. If you are fond of jewelry, this hotel is a good choice since walking distance from the jewelry hub of tokyo - okachimachi. There is a family mart and starbucks nearby. Near also at Ueno park where you could stroll around and take some photos. The best thing is that there is a line connecting to and fro narita airport and ueno.

My husband and I love everything about this hotel ! The front desk which is on the 2nd floor was really neat. Loved the interior! The staff were pleasant. They spoke english and were helpful when, one morning, I needed to borrow an iron. Rooms are small but this is expected because, hey, this is Japan. Your basic needs are all provided for-- towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes and toothpaste, razors, a hairdryer, a kettle and a fridge. They even have pajamas for you! Bed was so comfy. We could stay in bed the whole day. Location was great! You could walk to several train stations from the hotel. In fact, fro and to the Narita airport, you can take the train w/o transfers. It's very convenient! The next time we visit Tokyo, we will surely choose Sotetsu Fresa Inn Ueno-Okachimachi as our "home" again.

The white facade Centurion Hotel Ueno ( much newer ) where we are checked in is a small boutique-y , modern feel Hotel in Ueno. I like our room. It has a sofa bed and a bunk bed, the space is small for 3 people but manageable. Cozy interior and a good size toilet. Wifi available. Staff were polite and friendly. When we checked in, we went to the other Centurion Hotel just across the hotel property ( red facade ) since there were no staff in the lobby of the White facade Centurion Hotel. There is a Family Mart adjacent to both hotels, a big supermarket, restaurants abounds. Walked 300 meters and Matsusakaya Department store is there. Overall : a good, well kept, and budget friendly Hotel Nearest Train Station : JR Okachimachi Station. take North Exit, cross the big Road ( Chuo Dori ) if I am not mistaken, walk another 300 meters and both Ueno Hotel is on your right side.

Location- Ueno JR station less than 5 min walk. Very accessible from other Metro stations. Hotel staff very helpful, can speak English. Efficient. Allowed us to store our baggage after checking out as our flight was later. Room - bed comfortable, firm. TV, mini fridge and aircon worked well. Toilet very clean. Small size though but it is expected in Tokyo. Convenience- so many food stalls the moment you step out of hotel. 7-11 and Family Mart convenience stores all less than 1 min walk. Literally spoilt for choice, Very good food at affordable prices. Market 5 min walk away for you to buy fruits. Lots of duty free shops- supermarket, shoes, lady's stuff. Uneo Park also 5 min walk. Ueno JR is also a bullet train station- it is very centre. 32 mins train ride to Haneda Int Airport by Rapid Train. Will definitely stay there again. Strongly recommended. Very happy with the hotel.

This Japan only chain was very close to Ueno train station. Coming from Narita it is an easy walk to hotel. They include an iphone for use during your stay for free. It includes internet access and free calls within JP and to USA. This is a big added plus. Hotel has wired and wireless access. Property is 1 year old so everything new. Includes free coffee anytime and a pastry breakfast. Many places to eat nearby and all staff spoke good english. TV included a browser like interface where you can search yahoo and view Youtube. Ueno is very close to Tokyo station so access throughout Tokyo good. I used a gym around the corner (infinity gym) which has 24 hr access Cant beat the value form business.

The hotel is great, it has everything we needed (washing machines, vending machines, helpful staff) but it is showing age with the walls having more scuffs, a room with a damaged sink counter that was haphazardly fixed (the staff offered a room transfer and we took the offer)...thing like that. The location is 1 star short of 5 stars because it's not as near to the train station as it looks, but for the nightly rate (cheaper than other hotels that are near the train station) it's little to complain about. The beds were big enough for a small kid to fit. Would still return to this hotel if we can't find a better option.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling in groups. The place had a seperate toilet, bathroom, Kitchen and bedroom. The place was roomie and has vast amount of space for 5+ people to stay in. The hotel is central to Tokyo and easy to get to from the train station nearby that takes you to and from Narita airport direct. It is also close to the JR line which is convenient with the JR pass.

The Good: Quiet neighborhood with a playground across the street which children can enjoy. Hotel is clean. Shared toilet and shower rooms are always clean. Really nice Japanese style room experience. Staff are nice and willing to help with all my questions. Near Nippori Station and Sendagi Station Near convenience stores and grocery stores. Very near Yanaka Ginza, where you can buy affordable food choices and souvenirs. Breakfast offered is just toast, coffee and soup. Very simple but filling. Wheelchair accessible. The Bad: Not very near the train stations. Around 10-15 mins walk. But if you are fond of walking like me, it would be fine. But the long walk is not fun when you have heavy luggages with you as you will encounter stairs and/or uphill road to the Nippori Station. Japanese style futons are not very handicapped elderly friendly. Shower rooms are not wheelchair friendly. Should have wider space. Had a hard time with bath time for my aunt who is elderly and handicapped.

I definitely feel that I chose a great hotel for the following reasons: 1) This hotel is brand new, opened early in 2015, which meant that everything is new and clean. This hotel was the CLEANEST hotel I've ever been in all my travels. The bathroom was so clean, I did not see a speak of mildew! 2) Great location! I loved that this hotel was right near Ameyokocho shopping streets. I loved walking around the localized small shop areas and there were many restaurants in the area. 3) Proximity to trains and airport train (Skyliner to Narita). There were two JR stations and two Metro stations within walking distance of this hotel. And a big factor for me is proximity to the airport train - which was the Skyliner at Keisei Ueno station (not Narita Eepress which is accessible via Toyko Station). Most tourists know about the Narita Express but not the Skyliner train to Narita. Skyliner is much less crowded and slightly cheaper and is accessed in Ueno. 4) I took advantage of the public bath. The bath soak was comfortable and much needed after a long day of exploring. I did not take advantage of the free ramen noodles they serve at night because I was out all day and came back to the hotel after 11pm. But these two amenities/services were great bonuses. Overall, I was very happy with Dormy Inn at Ueno Okachimachi. The staff was helpful, the front desk spoke English well enough. They also spoke Mandarin. I was able to leave my luggage at the hotel for a few hours after checking out to explore. Room size was good for a solo traveler. I was expecting super tiny rooms, but the room I had was just right. There are many Pros, but one con is that they only have one elevator and it might take awhile at peak times, but this shouldn't be a deal breaker.

Stayed at this hotel in late October 2018. The location is pretty good from the JR Okachimachi station and close to the Okachimachi subway station serving the Hibiya line. If exiting the JR Okachimachi station, I suggest exiting the south entrance. From there, turn left, cross one street (I believe), then at the next street turn right and the hotel should be on the right. If exiting the subway (Hibiya) line, exit at gate 4. The included breakfast was good and the staff was friendly. The hotel room was small, but standard for Japan. Breakfast opened at 6:30 which was good for us. I suggest going down at opening time to get a place to sit and eat. It can get crowded. The one thing that I did not care for about this place is that there is only one elevator. So when it is busy (breakfast / check in / check out) you may have to wait a while since the elevators may be full. I would stay here again.

In Ueno, there aren't many decent star rated hotels, this is one of the rare few. From Keisei skyline station (assuming you arrive at Narita airport), it's only a 10 minute walk, or a very short taxi ride (no more than 600 yen, or less). Hotel has room at decent size (for Japan), very clean, very helpful staffs at check in. Bed is comfortable with great pillow, room temperature can be adjusted by yourself. So it won't be to warm in winter like some other hotels in Japan with central air conditioning. Best thing is the location. Being in Ueno, you are in a very interesting part of Tokyo, with lots of choices for good food and some of the best bargain shopping in Tokyo. The nearby Ueno park is a great destination in itself for a full day of exploring, cheery blossom viewing, zoo with panda, art gallery, opera house, museums, several different temples to to boost. Ueno JR station is a great hub to explore the rest of Tokyo, metro train to nearby Akakusa. JR train to Tokyo for the bullet train etc. Going to and from the airport could not be easier, a straight 38 minute train ride only! Mistui garden is truly an ideal place to stay when in Tokyo for many reasons.

I travel to Tokyo often and i've tried different hotels but Hotel Graphy stands out. The place is so clean and the staff are very helpful and friendly. They have solo rooms and and bunk beds so you can choose depending on your preferences. The location is really nice because its accessible, very near the train stations, park, zoo and commercial establishments in Ueno. The room is priced lower but bigger compared to other rooms. I will always book in this hotel from now on.

One of the few hotels that provide spacious rooms. This is a great location that is actually only a few mins from the train station. Don't worry that you are staying a little farther from central Tokyo, from Nippori station everything is reachable. I didn't care that it would take 30 mins to Harajuku by train, what I cared about is that it only took me 2 mins to walk to the train station. I was more concerned with how long it took me from my hotel to the train station that how long I would be sitting on the train. Believe me that you will care more about that hotel to train station distance. As a fat american who drives everywhere and the longest walk of my day is from where I parked my car to the front of store, I was not ready for the amount of walking you need to do in Tokyo. Although train stations are everywhere, you still need to walk to them, between the site seeing and walking from hotel to station, my feet were tender.

Hotel Parkside Tokyo feels like home. The lighting is warm and relaxing, the staff are really helpful and polite. It is situated just a few minutes from the nearest train station; traveling is convenient. It is in the middle of restaurants and bars/pubs -- an area where enjoyment is everywhere. Prior to our check-in time, the staff agreed to let us leave our things. They had those kept until we came back in the afternoon, way past our check-in time, to get some rest. We were even surprised that our things were already in our room when we arrived. The staff made things easy for us. Most of the staff cannot fluently converse in English, but it didn't hinder them from helping us and from making our stay worthwhile. They tried their best to provide all the things we need -- space for our things, charger plug, and even gave us the phone number for Haneda Airport. It is with no doubt one of the best capsule hotels we have been. The staff is really helpful, it is located next to a main train station and there is a wide range of restaurants around. My partner loved the male floor with its hot bath, cold bath and saune. He was also able to enjoy the lounge and its reclinable sofas and private TV. The female section had a lovely garden, but no sentos for us girls... The hostel has different floors, one is only used by men and another only used by women, there is a mixed one with a small commun area. We would stay again! I definetely recommend it!

It was our first time in Japan and we really had a great time staying at Ueno First City Hotel. The hotel is approximately 10-minute walk from Ueno Station via Skyliner. It was easy to find via Google maps. The location is also good because it is near train stations (Yushima, Okachimachi, and Ueno) and stores (Family Mart, Lawson, Don Qui, etc). The staff were accommodating. We stayed at Ueno for 8 days and we had no problems during our stay.

The hotel is located just directly opposite of the entrance to Keisei Ueno station, and 3-5 minutes walk to Ueno station, which is one of the main train station in Tokyo. Walk for 10-15 minutes at another direction will reach at Ueno-Okachimachi station. Basically within walking distance, one can reach stations for Shinkansen, 7 JR lines (including Yamanote) and 3 Tokyo subways. Ueno Park and Ameyoko market street is just around of the hotel too.

Firstly It's abid diffical to find the hotel by following the hotel maps. However,when we reach the hotel we know that we can get to this place by many directions--Just across the bridge infront of Uano train station central exit and walk less than 10mins. we can find the hotel.Hotel is quite small but all facilities are equiped in the room.(Kettle; Hairdryer; Aircondition ;WiFi etc.) There are conviniene store close to hotel to buy things or even the restaurants The weak point is there is no lift or elevater for guest but for us it not the serious problem.--we can carry ourselves) Overall we really like this hotel and would like to come back to stay at this hotel agian.

I had a restful 3 nights of sleep in my lovely, cozy Japanese room at Stayto. Room was a good size and it was kept clean in all the days of my stay. Staff was very accommodating, efficient and they all spoke on English very well. Hotel location was very near bus stops and a train station. I definitely plan to book my next trip with them when I go back to Tokyo! Thank you!

Me and my family loved our stay here! What we liked the most was the location. It's in the quiet part of the city but very accessible to the train station (Inaricho). And also, it's really close to the Skyliner- Keisei Ueno station (airport train). So going to and fro the airport was a breeze! Clean and comfortable bed. The staff were all friendly and accomodating too. Recommended.

I had a very good stay here. Perfect location - just a 3 minute walk from UEno JR station (Asakusa exit), yet it is quite enough at night and in the morning. I must say the hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. They let me keep a big baggage 1 day prior to check-in and after check-out. Also they are very welcoming and speak English quite well. The only thing I dislike is the stairs at the entrance of the hotel, making it hard to carry many/heavy baggage. But at the night I left the hotel, a male receptionist gave me a lift by taking my heavy baggage! Would definitely stay in this hotel again for the 2020 Olympic Games!

The hotel provide efficient & fast service. our room with bath tub,bidet & quality bathe shammpoo. Tokyo hotel was inexpensive especially if you know where to stay. U cant get this kind of hotel room price in Spore with bathe tub & quality bathe shampoo.Lots of eateries next door that you spoilt for choice. There is supermarket next door that is very cheap. Beer cost US$1.60 for a 500ml can.So many brands to choose. The supermarket save us a lot money, sometimes we buy pack of 8 small pancakes filled with red bean cost abt US$2. In spore will cost u at US$0.65 each. Several bf items like delicious rice packet with 3 favours, seaweed, sesame & dried prawn each 55Yen. Similiar to what u buy in Taiwan cost 3 times the price.All bf items are fresh. The hotel serve good spread delicious buffet bf only. Getting to this hotel direct from the airport with kesei trains. Fr the train station you look across is the hotel the highest around there. My room view is the city & skytree.I like this Eco hotel, use what u need. Dont waste. Great hotel to use as a base. My friends recommended me Shinjuku area, luckily never stay there. Packed & expensive rooms. U eat & rush with the office crowds. I prefer to come back to this quiet & peaceful hotel where food outlets are everywhere. Every floors there is vending machine for all kinds of drinks at shop price. Few 24hrs convenience stores around. If you have big luggages use the north exit only 1 mins different. Anyway it takes abt 3 mins to the hotel fr the train station. JR Train goes all round Tokyo.

my first time to stay in a very small room hotel. however my husband and i was amazed on how functional the room is. the layout of the room is exceptionally excellent. it is well lighted yet very cozy, very clean and compact. we were provided with all the things we needed during our stay. i love the small kitchen with a stove and some utensils. the hotel is also located in a very convenient and a very quiet place near the train station,convenient store and also close to shopping malls, museums,parks and the zoo. well recommended! .
