Pros: - just two stations to Shinsaibashi - 20 mins walking distance to Osaka castle - newly opened in 2018 - convenient store just opposite to the hotel - free onsen, noodles, wine and beer - great breakfast: with steak and okonomiyaki - free bicycle rental for first 2 hours - free shuttle bus to shinsaibashi and namba before 12nn Cons(not really related to the hotel itself): - too many mainland Chinese tourists - the closest metro exit near the hotel doesn’t have any lifts

Hotel is opposite Osaka Castle - so best to request a room with a castle view. As far as getting there, it is about a 15 minute train ride from Osaka station, followed by a five minute walk. Alternatively, it’s about 2,000 yen in a taxi. The room we had was huge and well appointed with everyrhing you would want. Everything was more than adequately comfortable. The staff were friendly, helpful, well dressed and professional. There are a number of eating options for convenience, although we did not try them, but they looked great. A short walk across the river there are a number of eateries offering a variety of different options. The one we tried was great.

Small room, but clean and nice. Perfect location - just walking distance from Osaka castle. Entrance to underground being located at the hotel entrance allows to travel everywhere fast and easy. Breakfast was good, but rather Japanese style, so not too good if you are not ready to eat exotic food in the morning. Nice and comfortable onsen was a great place to relax after the long day. And it was opened at least until midnight! There was even Finnish sauna!

This hotel is located near Osaka Castle, it's a wonderful place to visit especially during Sakura season. The hotel is rather strict on check in time so don't come early. Look for a flight to Osaka that will synchronize with your check in or it's Ok if you have earlier plans. The room is clean and the facilities are good but it's a small room for my dimension but it has a comfortable bed. Ask the front desk (her name was Hamada) for a great ramen restaurant 3 blocks away from the hotel. I will still recommend this hotel for it's great location (not to forget it's neatness to the subway) , convenient store all around and value.

I drive this trip, so location/convenience of station is not an issue to me. By the way, La Soeur is near Osaka Castle, just a little 10 minutes walk to enjoy sakura blooming, that is nice. I think more signs or indicators to the hotel entrance will be much better. The main entrance is not facing to train station / main street. Having discount (say 50% or 40%), this hotel is highly recommended.

We had a great stay at the Hotel The Lutheran for the following reasons: 1. The hotel is very clean; 2. It provides high speed internet in the rooms; 3. The Osaka Castle Park is within walking distance from the Hotel. We went there twice to view the Cherry Blossoms; 4. The receptionists are very attentive and friendly. We had fast check-in and check-out; 5. There are local restaurants nearby as well as Family Mart and 7-Eleven stores; 6. The surroundings are very quiet at night; and 7. It is very easy to get a taxi in the area to explore other areas in Osaka.

The best thing the hotel has going for it is LOCATION. It's a block away from the Tanimachi Yonchome station - so convenient! Also - Osaka castle is a walkable distance from the hotel, and you get to pass by the NHK QC and the Osaka Museum of History. I would NOT recommend this hotel for people over 6' - the beds are TINY and so are the doors! There is a bathtub but you'll only fit in it if you're in a fetal position. While these didn't bother us at all, it may be an issue for others.

my family and i really enjoyed staying at hotel osaka castle. although i prefer to stay in traditional tatami rooms while i am in japan, the view of the river, especially at night with the lights shining on the sakura trees is so beautiful. the hotel is walking distance to osaka castle, so that was very convenient and fun to walk and look at the shops and people along the way.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel, it was definitely worth the money and would come back again if I could. The whole room was very clean and modern, my favourite part was the bathroom where they had a shower with 3 different types of nozzles for showering! One was a big one over your head, then there was one which you could hold yourself and a third one which was like a heavy, fine mist, it was amazing, I could've showered in there for hours. Definitely think this hotel is targeted more towards businessmen and people looking for a bit more luxury than your average hotel. It's inside a building with a mall so you can pop down into the mall for shopping and food. There is also parking on the 5th floor, so if you park there, make sure you show your parking ticket to the staff at the front desk so they can give you some kind of a discount on your parking fare. It's very close to Osaka castle by train. Heaps of different types of restaurants and shops all around, but be warned, if you have a Mastercard with you from overseas and are looking to get cash out, you'll find it impossible to find an ATM that will accept your card. Went searching for a couple hours and came up with nothing.
