Very clean and new place. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice central location on Makati ave and close to p. burgos street famous for entertainment and girls. The only thing is, I booked a double thinking it was a double bed but there is only 2 single beds for the good price at this hotel, the beds are new and comfortable and if you wanted you can push them together. But to upgrade to a room with a king size bed for 2 nights would have cost me over 2000 pesos Asked for an iron and I was brought the oldest iron in Manila, it couldn't even keep water inside, something was cracked in it I guess. I didn't try the food but i had to rate it, there is no food in this hotel but next door is the same owners so you can eat there. I gave it a 3 since i thought it was expensive for the breakfast buffet.

The hotel was impressive from the viewpoint of the lobby. Although you can tell this was an older hotel based on the rooms (carpet, window pane) it was still competitive with other hotels of the same price range. It's proximity to shopping malls (all walking distance) and short taxi ride to the famous Burgos street makes a great location. I would choose this hotel again.

Excellent facilities. Outstanding staff and service. Picture perfect amenities. Fabulous location directly across the street from Greenbelt Mall, and walking distance to most all other Makati primary malls. Terrific number of restaurants nearby, Elberts Steakhouse being my favorite. The on-demand car service is always available, always efficient, and makes commuting to and from local restaurants / music venues simple, safe, and affordable. I particularly recommend booking a 1 BR suite, leveraging the fabulous buffet breakfast as part of the package, and leveraging the executive lounge which features drinks and a small but well presented buffet as an evening snack. My wife and I often make it our meal for the evening as the charm of the lounge is comparable to a 5-star restaurant. In short, this is a 5-star hotel complete with the full package of security and services at below market price. This hotel is a must-stay for any traveler who is serious about 5-star amenities!

Unless it is on an expense account a rarely stay in 5 star hotels. I make the Pen in Manila an exception, especially when there is a good price on Agoda. There are several newer 5 Stars in Makati but The Pen remains my top choice. Everything you would want in a top hotel but it has a charm and comfort I do not find in many the others. I had to only rate it a 4 on location for one reason and that has to do with the difficultly in managing Makati traffic. Unlike the other 5 Stars in Makati The Pen is on the opposite side of Ayala Ave. form the shopping and dinning in Greenbelt and Glorietta. There is no street level crosswalk at Makati Ave & Ayalia making it necessary to walk extra distance and use the under passes or to take a taxi. Taxis are cheap in Manila but at times in this area hard to find and the traffic can be bad, turning what should be a 10 minute walk across the street into 30 or 40 minute. Walking using the under-passes is a bit longer (20 minutes) but on a hot muggy Manila day that can seem a long time. You can often find me in the Peninsula Lobby Bar enjoying the ambiance of a grand hotel even when I am not a guest.

Fourth time I stayed in Picasso. Staff very polite and helpful. Great location, being 15 minutes walk to all the bars & restaurants in P Burgos street area, or 30 minute stroll to the huge shopping areas with Glorietta, Landmark & other malls. Chose a bigger room this time as shown in the picture. Lots of space & very comfortable. The room was well equipped. Only issue was that the balcony and its table & chairs were very dusty, so left a note for the housekeeper to clean it which was done.

We were in Manila for a series of business meetings + a work-related event and we only have an overnight to spare. Given our purpose, this is the best decent place to stay. It is accessible for both MRT (Magallanes) and LRT (Libertad) stations and at the same time, there's a lot 24/7 stores around the area. Definitely, you can buy what you need without wasting time for travel. We just needed to walk or cross the street. Our favorites - the hairdryer - a clean/decent room - a free breakfast for two - a nice lobby - cable TV What we think that should be improved - the breakfast menu - the odor that would always greet us whenever we open our room's door. It does not stay all throughout the stay inside the room but if you know the feeling, you get what we mean. haha Overall, we'll surely come back. :)

Got a room for four nights at a promo rate and was very happy with the place. The room was a bit small but very clean and had all amenities you would expect. The aircon was very efficient and silent which was a big plus for me. The location is great for those who want to party in P Burgos street. That was not the case for me but it was still find as Makati Center can be reached within 15 minutes walk.

- Located in the heart of the most prime city of Manila Philippines - Big spacious units - Definitely superb value for money! For the price you pay in other hotels -- normally you'll only get a small room, about 30 SQM. But in Ascott you get a 70 SQM Exec 1BR already! - Everything is a walking distance away - Located on top of one of the desirable shopping malls in Manila - For "staycationers" or tourists visiting Manila Ascott is the best value for money hotel - Also book via Agoda as over the counter booking will cost about 40% more than Agoda rates.

New Hotel Built in April 2013, spacious rooms, wall of windows, beautiful large luxurious bathroom, rooftop pool, gym and spa. Location is in Glorietta Mall, never have to go outside to access all the other malls, since are interconnected via walkways. Best location in Makati, great value for the money! Only downside is construction of a large condo complex across the street, so view not the best, will be like that for years.

It is hard to know where to begin with this review. Let me just start by stating that my stay here was the best experience of my life. This hotel is simply magnificent. The staff were friendly, attentive, helpful, well trained, and polite. The food was spectacular and the food was outstanding. The 5th floor swimming pool overlooking the city was amazing. Celebrities seem to regularly visit the hotel. My story is unique. I needed to attend to business in Makati, and was going to stay at a typical 2-3 star hotel. However, I decided that this would be the perfect time to propose to my g/f, so I booked this hotel because she deserves the best. Even with these expectations, our stay was beyond my wildest dreams. Rey, the concierge, corresponded with me weeks prior to plan every aspect of my proposal. He and the rest of the staff were absolutely fantastic. He arranged an exclusive rooftop, sunset proposal, complete with a romantic 2 piece band, rose pedals and candles. The staff also videotaped the entire proposal - check it out on the hotel's facebook page :) Unbelievable. The amount of care they took to make this day perfect for her and I was phenomenal. I sent some pics of us prior to our stay, and they arranged to have one framed and waiting in our room with complimentary champagne, wine and chocolates. At our dinner at Spectrum afterwards, our menu had a picture of her and I in every page. Despite being busy with their typical rich and famous clientele, almost every staff member from bellboy to director came to congratulate us at some point. We felt like moviestars! the worst part of this hotel was leaving it. I wish we could have our wedding here, but it is an expensive world for a young couple. With that being said, my fiancee and I will always cherish our stay there, as I am sure that it will remain one of the most memorable experiences of our lives. Thanks again Fairmont/Raffles staff!

Very pleased with the City Garden hotel, I have stayed there a number of times and the only niggle was internet was poor in the past, this seems to be all fixed now. A room upgrade is always nice, so that was good and while there were some road works going on in the area this didn't detract from my stay. The City Garden is in the P Burgos Street area so expect everything which goes with that but there are a number of nice restaurants and music bars in the area. No complaints and many thanks to all of the very helpful staff.

Travelled to Manila with my family last month (April 2018). Decided to book at The Charter House through Agoda. Wanted to stay at an affordable accommodation near Greenbelt shops. We made the right choice. Price and location-wise, this is the best hotel in the Makati area. Daily housekeeping available, staff were all courteous. Will definitely stay here again next time we go for our holiday.

I do not understand, I have submitted three reviews for this hotel. I checked my account through Agoda last night and it says that nothing was submitted. This is terrible I poured my heart and soul into those comments ranting and raving about how good this hotel is... Sigh, internet... Ok the hotel is one of the best! Brand new, Staff Awesome all around, great breakfasts in restaurant, rooms are wonderful, beds are the best! Ask for the feather pillows and you will never want to get up. (However that might not be the best if you have a business meeting the next day, or the staff come to clean the room after you should have checked out and you are still in bed.) There is a great grocery store just across the street and parking lot. With buying a few things, and the room comes complete with a small kitchen/cutlery/fridge etc you really do not need to go out. Though there are some restaurants in the area. Many looked good, though beyond our price range. We did find a "pub" type place within walking distance (15min). Greenbelt (Malls) are a short taxi ride. You can't go wrong with booking in at this place. Unless of course you have no money at all, then you probably would not be traveling... Booking through Agoda is still the best for finding great prices for staying there and check in is never an issue... in fact we have to stay in Manila again. Even though the price this round is not as good as I would like, I'm convincing myself to pay that little extra anyway. Enjoy!

It was awesome! The best hotel that I've stayed in through the Agoda app so far! I've reserved a Studio One-Bed room, but it was upgraded to a 1-Bedroom Premium WITH NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE! I mean, I know this is just my luck, and it may not happen again, but then again, the fact that they do such upgrading really speaks a lot about how they value their customers! The room is soooo beautiful (it was on the 36th floor with a CLEAR VIEW of the city!). The room is very spacious, clean, organized, and beautiful! If I could, I would've stayed there for 5 more days! The staff are very polite and helpful from the lobby attendants to the housekeeping personnel. They attended to my needs with haste as if you're the most important guest that they're currently hosting! Hahaha! The breakfast buffet is so-so at best, so they might as well want to improve it, but hey, I didn't come to the hotel only to dine (and to be fair, buffet is not their specialty or featured service unlike other hotels). Totally worth your money and very opposite to the negative feedback that others posted here. I really hope that this review won't jinx my next check in to the hotel in the future! Hahahaha!

The rooms were big and roomy, no mold yet, as it's a new hotel. Air con better than in bigger hotel were you have no control. The staff were extremely helpful, especially the hotel management apprentices. And Luis always at your service and Richard were exceptional, I cannot praise them enough. They offer a kind of free shuttle service to the shopping mall Glorietta at certain times. But you get back by yourself. Grab is usually the way to go. The breakfast was not really to my taste, but they were always eager to please and I requested some bananas and they sent someone to get me some from the shop! Be patient, as sometimes you have to ask several times for results, but eventually all happens. They r always trying their best to make you feel comfortable. Use their terrace on the 9th floor. Beautiful view and nice breeze. negatives: the street noise, no double glazing, and the rain shower difficult to use sitting down for disabled.

The location of the hotel is excellent. Right beside all the shopping and 5 mins walking distance to Glorietta Mall, Green Belt, etc. Its also nearer to the airport than hotels in Makati Ave, so taxi fare can be negotiated down to 200-250p.. its rare that you find an honest taxi driver willing to go by the meter. Staff were efficient and helpful and because the hotel is quite established, there's no problem getting to the hotel in a taxi. The rooms are comfortable and well furnished. You have all the 5-star amenities at a 3-star price. Room service food was pretty good although 5-star priced, but i'd rather pay that than some other knockoff dishes at discount prices that do nothing for the appetite. In either case, you're within walking distance to many restaurants offering great variety of food. Hotel has a gym that wasn't as well equipped, but not many people using it so not a problem there. No pool unfortunately but i wasn't there to swim so it didn't bother me. Internet connection is available in-room and was included in my booking with Agoda, but the speed was rather slow and i could hardly get onto facebook games. There's a 24-hr convenience store 2 doors away on the left of the hotel where you can buy basic amenities, stock up your mini-bar fridge, etc, but don't expect to get things you'd normally get from a full-blown supermarket. Hawkers set up stall just outside the hotel at night and you get pretty good beef noodles for a very cheap price. If i'm going back to Manila, i'll definitely stay here again.

We liked the hotel. The only downside was the location. While it technically is in Makati it is quite far away from the typical Makati attractions i.e. Greenbelt and Glorietta. But the taxi fare will only cost you max 300php to get there. They even have their own transport to Greenbelt. It was either 150 or 300 php, can't remember. Getting anywhere in traffic at night is impossible so if its within 2km I suggest you walk. There are good places to eat around P Burgos, including Ziggurat which was our favourite. The staff were very very friendly, all of them saying hello when we walked past. Breakfast was nice. Just a small buffet but they had cereals, toast, eggs, sausages, pasta/vegetable/Philippino food and fresh fruits. The rooms were stylish and clean. We were in the cheaper room and found the space to be adequate for our bulky luggage and scuba gear.

I have stayed here many times. The reception area has been much improved since my last visit, so I assume the noise issues to the adjacent rooms have been sorted out. The stairs are also carpeted and before they were hard-surfaced and created a raket in rooms on the ground floor whenever anyone used them. I stayed in an internal suite this trip. It was very nice, spacious and clean as always, with a modern aircon unit that was also very quiet. I also had a fridge and tv. I received a complimentary piece of cake as well, being a returning guest. I only ate at the restaurant for breakfast, but they have a reasonable selection of items on the menu. There are plenty of places to eat nearby. The hotel has a modern, minimalist feel to it. The staff are attentive and professional. The management really care about this hotel. My only negative comments are the wooden unit under the basin was too wide, so you have to sit on the toilet at an angle! Also, there are no 'Do not Disturb' signs to use on your door. It's relatively nearby to the airport, so negotiating Manila's traffic hell to and from, is not too bad. Take a map with you or say it's between City Garden Hotel, Makati and P. Burgos, as no taxi driver I have used has heard of Hotel Durban or Durban Street. Enter from P. Burgos as Durban Street is one way, going out onto Makati Avenue.

The service was quick, warm, and professional. The room and entire hotel is very clean and well lighted. I love how the room has a huge window, although the room itself is quite small. Location is the best! Very close to offices, restaurants, convenience stores, etc. Only negative thing I can say is the walls are TOO THIN. Heard EVERYTHING the people next door were talking about and doing which made quite an uncomfortable stay. I would still book again because the location is the best for work considering the good price, but if I had another choice with better privacy and around the same price range, I think I’d rather book another hotel.

I booked for studio room but was upgraded to twin deluxe to my surprise, the room has a 5 star quality to it, but to a very affordable price, it’s like I have a 50% discount. The hotel staff are very fast and efficient no problems in checking in, front desk is very knowledgeable, it’s a really good hotel. I’m New in makati area so I appreciate their willingness to help me. The room itself is big and clean and beautiful. I was relaxed within just 2 days. I badly need vacation and I got it from Gervasia. I’d be going back to same hotel if I visit Manila again. 👌🏼

overall, this is a good quality and solid 3.5 star business hotel - part of the ascott serviced apartment chains. despite being a service apartment-hotel, the front desk service was very good. there is a pool and fitness room - both looked good and well equipped - didn't have time to use. in the room - the bed was great, the bathroom fine and had a comfortable chair and side table by the window with floor lamp - a great view from the 19th floor. the room was very quiet - no noise from other rooms. the ac was a bit difficult to figure out - and turned off sometimes at night. the location is excellent with a very short walk to the greenbelt shopping complex (go in through the oldest (greenbelt 1) then turn right and keep walking through to the right until you come to the newer annexes (greenbelt 1 though 5). it is clearly an area to dine and have a few cold beer or wine(greenbelt centers 3-5 i think). otherwise, if you want some entertainment a bit more 'lively' the p. burgos stip is around 15 minutes away (3-4 dollars by taxi). however when you return to the hotel you'll realise there's nothing at night there - no bar, etc, and the lobby is small. what the hotel room lacks is decent international tv channels. i think it had only one english news channel (bbc or cnn, can't recall) and only one english movie channel. the internet also has a charge - around us$ 15 per day (these days it should be free shouldn't it)? the lan cable didn't work but the wifi did and was average speed. given this isn't a 'budget' hotel, the buffet needs a better selection of hot food, but it was ok. overall, the breakfast room needs to be bigger - it was hard to find a table each morning. they do serve fresh-brewed coffee so thumbs up for that. it took a while to get a taxi in the morning - so adjust your travel times to meetings etc (add 10-15 minutes) as you also end up driving through the busiest part of the city to get just about anywhere.

This hotel is well located, beside this hotel there is a drug store, in front of this hotel there is seven eleven open 24 hours, just beside the drug store there is a small market sell cloth and local food, and also supermarket, going around is easy, many taxi pass this hotel road, for night life, P. Burgos street is in walking distance, many bank, money changer around this hotel, room very comfortable, clean and this hotel staff very helpful

The room rate is relatively cheap compare to the ones near the area. It's too good to be true but I just needed a room for a night so I chose it. The front desk is approachable as well as the guards. They gave us 2 packs of soap and shampoo even though the bathroom is already provided with those. The hotel is very clean and fragrant. You will indeed notice that it's fairly new. The room has all the basic things we needed. The single beds are very comfortable. The room has an aircon and ceiling fan which keep the room cool. The bathroom is wide enough and very clean as well. The hair dryer is readily available too. I think this suited for businessman who is always on the go. It may not have kitchenette or mini bar but it's okay because there are a lot of good places to eat in the same street just beside the hotel. They also have 7/11 store on the ground floor. The view is the business district and it's awesome. I will definitely go back.

I was a bit hesitant at first especially when I cannot contact the number posted on the hotel website but decided to take the risk since we are just staying for 1 night. I booked a superior room without breakfast for $72 (inclusive of tax) via Agoda.com. A few minutes after receiving the booking confirmation, I got a call from One Greenbelt hotel confirming my booking and special requests (room with window/view). I also asked if the room has a refrigerator and they confirmed that it has (ref is not listed in Agoda). Based on the reviews that I read here and in tripadvisor, I was not expecting much but upon arrival, I was impressed that all my requests were granted (I also requested them to print my booking confirmation which they promptly obliged). Staff were very courteous and accommodating, hotel interior is nice and clean. Room that was given to us was big enough. It has two double/queen(?) sized beds, room (especially the sheets) are very clean and there's more than enough pillows for the 3 of us. View that you could see are just roofs of the houses in the nearby subdivision which we don't mind at all since we just wanted a window with a view to avoid making the child feel claustrophobic. My very minor complaint is that the air conditioning unit is at times a bit noisy (noticeable but did not interrupt our sleep). Toilet bowl is positioned too closely to the shower enclosure so you might have some difficulties sitting down. There's also a limited number of parking slots available which we also felt is not that secure (open parking, just along the busy street) so we did not bother parking there and instead, we parked at Greenbelt 5 (parking is quite cheap there, 45 pesos for weekend parking so that is 90 pesos for overnight parking - they have a different rate for weekdays). Greenbelt is also not that far from the hotel so this was not an issue for us. Overall, we are very satisfied with our stay and will definitely go back here.

this is a three star hotel but overall i would say this is a four star hotel. very friendly staff. they have strict check in time at 2pm but we we're allowed to check in early at 11:30 pm such a relief :) thanks green sun :) very near at the vfs makati . if you have appointment in vfs makati for visa and other stuff. this is the best place to stay. very near at the airport. going to airport is like 15min away by car we just use our Grab APP (this is like UBER) i have a youtube channel. where is gelo. check out my video about the hotel. :) dont forget to subscribe for more.
