Regency Grand Suites
Malate,Plaza Rajah Sulayman - View on map
"My Filipina girlfriend and I decided to book 6days in the Regency Grand Suite and hoped it would be perfect for my last weeks stay in the Philippines. We were NOT dissappointed! We were greeted by the friendlest receptionist called Joseph who did everything for us from check us in to fixing the WIFI connection :) from there the stay in the hotel just got better. The location is perfect if you want to be central to Malate and it's right next to the mall. We stayed on the 32nd floor so obviously it was very quiet if you wanted to get away from the nightlife. The gym and the pool (very cold water ha) were great perfect to sit beside and relax. There are plenty of lovely Asian restaurants next to the hotel and the hotel is only short drive (100php) from Markati and the Fort. The room (a suite) was perfect it had plenty of power points (universal for 3pin plugs) a kitchen area with a microwave, kettle and fridge perfect for making snacks. The shower room was cozy and modern (don't forget to switch on the water heater) and after switching the water heater on the hot rain shower was wonderful. The view was magnificent from the 32nd floor balcony viewing out onto Manila bay and the cities beyond. The bed is huge but the space around the bed is limited but never the less its very cozy and perfect for me and my filipina girlfriend. The room also had a very modern flat screen TV with satelite channels such as HBO and PBO and other filipino channels. In short our stay in the Regency Grand Suites was wonderful and we shall most certainly be booking to stay here again on my next holiday. Special thanks to Joseph on reception who was amazing at getting us settled and was so attentive throughout our stay there. Many Thanks to all the team."

Red Planet Manila Mabini -  For Quarantine Stays

"It is a swanky new hotel that is impeccably clean, systematic and well organized. I like their money for value feel though they are a budget hotel. Hence the small rooms. Don’t expect full service because they keep a lean staff who though courteous and very willing to assist may at times be overwhelmed by the sheer number of guest requests. Its location puts you at the heart of avant garde Malate where there is an interesting mix of performing arts, great restaurants of different cuisines, red light district establishments, a modern mall, fast food, old churches and a short stroll westward takes you to Manila Bay’s renowned sunset. It is also a stone’s throw from Manila’s premier park, Luneta and the Rajah Suliman park that is surrounded by popular local restaurants and the US embassy in case you are in town for US visa interviews. The Seven-Eleven downstairs is certainly convenient and so is the 24 hour Su Zhou Dimsum Restaurant across. This unassuming noodle house serves practically the best for value and authentic simple Chinese fare. I love their xiao long pao, beef noodle soup, dumpling, tomato egg rice and garlic spinach. "

"The room was clean, the hospitality was good and the best part of it is the robinson mall right across the area. It was the best experience for a 3 star hotel and I will surely stay again in the hotel the next time I go to Manila :)"

"I have a review on this hotel for a four night stay. I extended for an extra night and the staff was good to let me stay in the same room. My review is the same as the four day stay. The only down part was the extra cost for one night versus the four I had, but the convenience was worth it. With so many negative reviews, I was set up for disappointment, but decided to take the chance. For the price, I chose one of the suites, so that is all I can review. I was pleasantly surprised and happy I booked here. The good and not so goods--> Positive....the breakfast buffet was one of the best I have had since I tend to stay at hotels that provide it. Lots to choose from and you can eat enough to hold you until dinner. Also positive is the location to the Robinson Mall....(across the street)....once you can manage crossing the street there is plenty at the mall....it will be a daily visit for you. Negative--> The rooms don't look as nice as the photos here, but they are very sufficient. Your rooms are only "cleaned" on request. Mainly just changing the sheets and new towels....anything else you need to ask. For example there were some small bugs around (harmless, but annoying to see) that I had to make a request to spray. Overall I would stay again....oh...and on a final note there is a great bus service across at the mall for 150p (3 USD) and cool comfort that will take you to the airport....independently owned. "

"This is my regular hotel when I stay in Manila. The rooms are large, the breakfast is good and the staff are friendly and security conscious. The hotel is located in a quiet street, but only 5 minutes walk to Robinsons Place, the major shopping mall in the area. It is 10 minutes walk to Manila Bay, and 20 minutes walk to Rizal Park and Manila Ocean Park. There are also excellent transport connections (LRT, Jeepney, UV Express) if you wish to use public transportation. The hotel has a lovely pool, which is in shadow from mid afternoon so you won't get sunburnt. You can buy a limited selection of drinks from the pool attendant. Breakfast is great, a range of western and Filipino delights from an a la carte menu. I highly recommend the longanisa!"

Manila Manor Hotel

"I advised of an approx 2:00 AM arrival. There is 24 hour desk service. Sadly, upon arrival, we learned that the elevators had broken down and I had to carry my approx 20 Kg luggage up seven flights of stairs. Good that at age 71 I am still able bodied. Upon checkout we were advised that because we had left a small portion of Pepsi-Cola behind there was a P500 penalty. This was never advised before-hand, and was really excessive. The hotel does have its own dining room with meals, and there is a free complimentary English language newspaper. The hotel is within easy walking distance of Robinson's Plaza, and the Philippines Supreme Court."

"It has the best service in Manila period. Added to its prime location being next to the mall and a great view to the manila Bay makes it the best Malate Hotel to be in. I have been to Manila for the last 3 years and would pride myself as a frequent flyer there. I have stayed in hotels ranging from makati high end (Peninsula) to resorts world (Maxims, Marriot and Remington), City of dreams and other major hotel chains. This would really makes me very qualified in giving a valuable and rational review. In short,i am impressed with how i was made at home in this 'new change of management' hotel (formerly hyatt). Special mentions would be duty managers Sheryl and Carlos who made my stay most comfortable so much that i extended my stay there twice last month. I will return very soon."

"First time to avail of the low cost room. Hardly worth saving the 200 PHP for the next level up which provides a much better room - cleaner, bigger, better accoutrements (TV did not work well, slippers were old and dirty, no towel/clothes rack/hangers, which the upgraded rooms have). Overall, it's best just to pay the extra 200 PHP for the better room."

"We stayed here because we had some business to attend to near UP Manila. The location is great and even if the city is busy, once you get into your room, you'll right away feel as if you are on a different place. The lady in the reception was also kind and accommodating. Easily one of the best personnel I have met :) One thing though, their rooms are way cheaper if booked online in Agoda. As for the amenities, pretty standard and comes with everything that you expect in a hotel.. they also give you a welcome drink! Comparing this hotel to the nearby ones, I'd say this is the best value for the price that you pay. I mean, you can get a mini-suite floor area with almost the same price in a standard room area on other nearby hotels :) "
