I was looking for a cheap hotel in Shinjuku area, and really didn't mind if the rooms were small, as long as the place was clean, decent, and had a great location. APA Hotel in Shinjuku-Gyonmae fits the bill to a T. It may have bigger rooms, I don't know, but for solo traveller like me, I was just looking for 1 single room.The room was very small, as expected. But amazingly compact in design and complete. This is Japanese efficiency of putting everything together in such a small space. I had a study table, a mini ref, a hospitality coffee and tea, and a giant flat screen TV (this was the only big thing)! The toilet was also amazingly compact, but well designed to fit everything you would need, including automatic bidet and nice hot shower. The toilet seemed like a pre-fabricated module plug into the room, and was spotlessly clean! As a single traveller, the small space is really just enough for one to move around, but who cares, I just need a place to sleep and shower. And I must say, the bed quality and duvet was superb--super soft, although the pillows were flat (Japanese style?). It also had an aircon so I switched it on so it doesn't get so stuffy. The reading lights and switches are also well located in such a small space. And must I say that the wifi was super fast! The location is also just less than 5 mins. walk to Shinjuku-Gyonmae subway (Maranouchi Line) which connects to Shinjuku main station (2 stops away) where you can connect to so many trains. Around the area is quite New Yorkish (quiet side) with Choco croque, Tully's Cafe, Freshness Burger, Coco Ichibanya, many Family Marts and 7-11's, and a big nice park behind. Very safe and clean neighbourhood. I didn't book for breakfast, as it was easy to eat out. It also has a free sauna and spa at the lower basement in case you want to use. I just took a look. Perfect location very near Okubo and Shin Okubo stations, great staff, breakfast, huge rooms with kitchenette, microwave, etc., separate toilet and bath.. Well stocked bathroom amenities, coffee, tea in the room.. One of the staff, Mr. Konno, was very helpful in facilitating the transfer of our luggage from this hotel in Shinjuku straight to our hotel in Osaka. In fact...Perfect location very near Okubo and Shin Okubo stations, great staff, breakfast, huge rooms with kitchenette, microwave, etc., separate toilet and bath.. Well stocked bathroom amenities, coffee, tea in the room.. One of the staff, Mr. Konno, was very helpful in facilitating the transfer of our luggage from this hotel in Shinjuku straight to our hotel in Osaka. In fact our 4pc luggage were waiting for us already in our room when we arrived. (I recommend this luggage service to travelers going to and from Osaka-Tokyo for hassle free transfers in trains or buses.) Good job, Hundred Stay! We will stay here again when in Shinjuku!

BUT The most CRAZIEST is as a guest I can NOT order anything in any restaurant delivering to my room, even room service foods menu offers littlest choices, trust me, u will be boring with them, as u know there are more choices & u have tried them downstairs. Also there's free shuttle service to Disney roundtrip, just reserve it, love it! Anyway, it's a great choice to stay. BUT so so bad feels while I just want order some more delivering to my room after my lunch or dinner in the same restaurant, All say NO WAY. It confused me so so much. Well maybe u guys think ur room menu is good enough. As a eater, I have to say NOOOOOOOOO!

Our second time in Tokyo and our first stay in Shinjuku. Reading all the other reviews good and bad and watching tons of Youtube videos. I can honestly say this little gem is perfect for everything, location, pricing and cleanliness. Located on the eastern side of Shinjuku you will find yourself with in a 4 min walk to Golden Gai, (A must see and experience for yoursel...Our second time in Tokyo and our first stay in Shinjuku. Located on the eastern side of Shinjuku you will find yourself with in a 4 min walk to Golden Gai, (A must see and experience for yourself area) The rooms are normal size for Tokyo if you want larger pay more and don't complain because you are frugal. After stalking the prices for weeks we finally found a really good price that included breakfast, normally we don't do breakfast but it was worth the extra 11 bucks a day and the breakfast was enormous and far far better then any skimpy European breakfast we had during out travels. The rooms were very clean and we stayed in a economy double on the 16th floor with a great view. They have a rooftop bar on the 13th floor landing that looked out over the city, they have daily happy hours and a decent menu as well at the rooftop bar. The front desk staff is more then helpful and will direct you and give you maps to anyplace you want to go. If you are a shopper , most big stores are by Shinjuku station which is about a 10 min walk. The area is very safe and you have tons of choices of food with in a couple min walk. I tried to cover all the bases here because I read a couple reviews that just seemed ridiculous and I want everyone to be upfront because thats how we book our hotels. Let me explain, if you have 4 to 5 Large suitcases and book a small double room for 3 or more people you get what you purchased its 15 SQ meters plus bath room they have larger that only cost 20 to 30 bucks more. The food in the restaurants was superior to or equal to most of the 4 to 5 stars we have stayed in. The area is a have a good time area , that is why you are staying in Shinjuku ! If you are looking for a hotel in Shinjuku and on a medium priced level then this far exceeds your perimeters.

Loved the deep bath with the tap that turns itself off when full. Amazing city views. Oh, and... GODZILLA!!! Very easy to find from Shinjuku station. Nippon Seinenkan Hotel is over the road from the Meiji Jingu Stadium, which means it's super easy to catch a Yakult Swallows game - so much fun! The hotel itself is very new and very convenient to the Tokyo Metro Ginza subway line, and the Omotesando, Shibuya and Shinjuku shopping areas are all within walking distance. Ginza shopping is only a short subway ride away. ...Nippon Seinenkan Hotel is over the road from the Meiji Jingu Stadium, which means it's super easy to catch a Yakult Swallows game - so much fun! The hotel itself is very new and very convenient to the Tokyo Metro Ginza subway line, and the Omotesando, Shibuya and Shinjuku shopping areas are all within walking distance. Ginza shopping is only a short subway ride away. The hotel staff were very friendly - lots of English was spoken, which made things even easier for us. I've stayed in quite a few really lovely hotels in Tokyo and the Nippon Seinenkan Hotel compares favourably in lots of ways - value for money, quality of room, location and facilities. The room (queen) was small, but that's Tokyo - it didn't worry us even though we were there for 15 nights. There's even a Family Mart on-site for late night snacks. All in all, a wonderful stay in the best city!

You can pass this underground mall going to Shinjuku Main station. Right outside the hotel there is a video wall showing Japanese artists, a converging point for visitors, commuters and smokers. Check out as well the stand-up yakiniku restaurant that serves high grade A5 beef. A little pricey but worth the price. Otherwise food is available for all sorts of budget.

Double room (1 double bed for 2): small but adequate, cosy, bright (flr to ceiling window) modern design. Washroom is adequately small. Fairly clean in the room and washroom, but can be better. Overall stay is comfortable and I would return. In fact this is my 2nd stay. Nice, helpful, and english speaking staffs. Optional pre-arranged luggage delivery service (for a fee) to airports on day of departure, so can leisurely travel to airports luggage free. Cons: Though mins to airport limousine bus stations, rolling big luggages to & from on a rainy day can be abit inconvenient.

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights; the location of the hotel was great, there were lots of shops and restaurants in the building in itself. The hotel was in close proximity to other restaurants, shops, and the station in Shinjuku which made getting around very easy. Kabukicho and Golden Gai was also about 20 min walk from the hotel so going out at night was easy. Th...Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights; the location of the hotel was great, there were lots of shops and restaurants in the building in itself. The hotel was in close proximity to other restaurants, shops, and the station in Shinjuku which made getting around very easy. Kabukicho and Golden Gai was also about 20 min walk from the hotel so going out at night was easy. The size of the room was a bit small especially with the full bed but that's typical for Japan. The only issue I had was that the room we were given allowed smoking and you can smell the odor of the cigarette smoke in the room. We could also smell smoke coming from the other units which was irritating but we were barely in our room and we stayed only for 2 nights so we managed. Its better you request for a non smoking room ahead of time. If only the windows were operable maybe that would help air it out. Other than that our experience with the hotel was not bad overall, very convenient in general.

A supersoft bed with an unusually hard pillow, clean comfortable, good wifi and water [pressure and a nice onsen. It is difficulty to rate the staff as check-in was almost fully automated. There was no check out, just drop the card in the card bin and you are gone. The hotel is nice if you want something less expensive however I would probably prefer to stay in the main area of Shinjuku.

The rooms are lovely and spacious (especially considering your in Tokyo). The bathroom is big and the shower is amazing, it’s so powerful, probably the best shower i’ve Had in Asia. The staff were fantastic, so very polite and helpful, everything you would expect from Japanese people. The room was non smoking, however there is a smoking room on the 21st floor which is open 24/7. We never used the room service or restaurants, so I can’t comment on those. However I highly recommend “Luke’s lobster” food van which can be found outside the hotel on certain days. The WiFi was fast and free. The views were fantastic especially at night, and the rooms always felt fresh after being cleaned. I would definitely stay here again.

Can sleep better when the air is not as dry esp during winter. End state verdict. Booked by mistake. But did not regret it at all. Best mistake ever.

I really enjoy staying at Hilton Tokyo a lot. I chose this hotel because Airport limousine can send me in front of the hotel. But I found out later that hotel also provide free shuttle bus from hotel to Shinjuku train station, the bus leave every 20 mins which is very convenient. This shuttle bus also take you back to the hotel from Shinjuku station as well. You can ask for the bus timetable at the reception. Also there's a subway connection right from the hotel lobby. I can get out the train at Nishi-shinjuku station and walk underground around 3 mins and pop up right inside the hotel lobby! Really convenient! Room view is great as I stayed at high floor. Really appreciate this hotel and I will recommend to everyone I know if they're going to Tokyo.

Food is everywhere, so you don't have to worry about that and a lot of the food joints are open pretty late. The hotel itself is pretty satisfactory. We were unfortunately on the 6th floor and right next to the guest lounge, with guests coming by and it got kinda loud. But other than that it was pretty quiet. You can hear sirens if they're coming by but you are in a very central and busy location. Of all the places that we stayed during our trip, we found that this room was the most spacious. There was enough room to put the suitcases and walk comfortable. Highly recommend!

Although there is only one restaurant in the hotel (Chinese), there is a good number of food outlets and convenience stores within the vicinity. The hotel is also located close to Ginza and Ichigaya,...I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It's very conveniently located in Hanzomon and I loved the fact that I could go for a run around the Imperial Palace every morning. Although there is only one restaurant in the hotel (Chinese), there is a good number of food outlets and convenience stores within the vicinity. The hotel is also located close to Ginza and Ichigaya, with good public transport connections to Shinjuku, Roppongi and other places in Tokyo. I don't really have any negative comments, apart from the rooms being slightly on the smaller side. However, this is the norm for Japanese business hotels, and actually this one compares well to other hotels I have stayed in previously. I checked into this hotel twice within one week and would definitely use it again in the future.

Our Eco Room is practically a hole in the wall. Do not bring a large suitcase. Lawson down the street is also a good and cheaper option. Staff is accommodating, wifi strong. A smoking room in the lobby is provided for the smokers. Overall a good place to stay.

You have to request a wireless router for your room and then pay to use the internet (300 yen per day). The internet usage fee is small, but I thought when paying a significant amount to stay in a 4-star hotel they could at least provide free wireless internet. This practice seemed a little old fashioned.

I even asked them questions about how to get back to the airport and where to exchange money. Although they could not answer me in English, they had brochures already printed out in English with the information I needed. I felt safe in the hotel because you need your room card to get into the elevator and again to get through the doors on your floor. As other reviews have mentioned, the rooms are very small but clean & cozy. I stayed in a single room and there was about a foot of space between the side edge of the bed and the desk. I traveled with a duffel bag and had just enough space for it at the foot of the bed. If you have a large suitcase, there is no space to lay it flat. The single bed was larger than a twin size, but smaller than a US full size. The beds were very comfortable and I had no trouble sleeping. The bed also had buttons to turn on and off the lights. That was nice because I did not have to get out of bed to reach the light switches. The bathroom can only fit one person at a time, but it was clean. A travel toothbrush & toothpaste, shaver, and hairbrush were provided. They also had a mini fridge, hot water heater and hair dryer. All in all, a very positive experience and I would stay there again!

It is in Shinjuku-ku the villagey area of Shinjuku, just out of the action enough for you to relax and witness Japanese urban lifestyle, but close enough for you to walk to (and crawl home from) the heart of the crazy shopping and nightlife action in about 10 mins. The room is small (I've heard that's common all over Japan) but not uncomfortably so, as the bathroom is suprisingly roomy with a large open area shower and has a bath with spa jets. Also at the time of our travel this was the cheapest hotel we could find in Shinjuku and we were pleasantly suprised by the comfort and features of our room which include: super fast wireless internet (if you have your own laptop - or there are pc's on floor 7), fridge and separate mini bar, TV with local and pay channels, control panel above bed for lighting, radio, air con, ventilation, and clock. They ask you to drop off the keys to the room to reception (24 hour reception) which we found to be a great system because not only do you not have to worry about losing the keys but this also enables the staff to clean the room when they know that you are out- this means no annoying knocks on the door from cleaners when you are resting. Not all staff speak english so it would be helpful to learn some standard hotel related phrases. Having said that, we knew about three Japanese words at the time of travel and were able to communicate quite easily. My parter and I are more than happy recommend Hotel N.U.T.S (great name) and we are already planning a return trip. It is particularly accommodating for those on a tight budget but don't want to dorm it. Also as a gay couple we found the staff to be very friendly and accepting of same sex couple guests. There was no issue with us staying in a double room and at no time did we feel awkward or weird.

This is my 2nd time at this property, I chose it for it's great location and familiarity of the area so I could hit the ground running. Hotel is a basic business hotel but delivers as promised. Rooms are small, but that's all well described and use the space in the best manner possible. A few blocks from a tokyo subway stop as well. My only complaint is the same others have posted in that they have some really thin pillows. I knew this going in so used my travel pillow to supplement. I should have asked for extras from the desk and when I stay her again I will make sure to do that.

we rented three rooms for our family for two separate one-night stays. all of the rooms were small (as we expected), but they very clean and looked fairly new. the bathrooms were also clean and nice showers and amenities. the hotel lobby is on the second floor. you can walk there from shinjuku station or take a taxi. we did both. all of our taxi driver's knew whe...we rented three rooms for our family for two separate one-night stays. all of the rooms were small (as we expected), but they very clean and looked fairly new. the bathrooms were also clean and nice showers and amenities. the hotel lobby is on the second floor. you can walk there from shinjuku station or take a taxi. we did both. all of our taxi driver's knew where the hotel was located. the golden gai district and many other sights are within a short walk of this hotel. we had confirmed reservations for three non-smoking rooms for both of our stays (which were one week apart). upon check-in for the first stay we found that the hotel only had smoking rooms for both stays. we asked if we could get just one non-smoking room for the second stay and this was not possible. overall this wasn't a big deal to us. we don't smoke, but were not extremely bothered by the smell as we weren't staying in the room 24 hours a day. they have a computer which you can use for free for 10 minutes and printer that you can use for a small fee.

They didn't have any non-smoking rooms available to we were put in a smoking room but the staff had cleaned it so well you couldn't even tell. The beds were comfortable and the room cleaned everyday. It was also only 200 metres to the subway station, about 50 metres to a 7/11, one stop away from Shinjuku and really easy to find. The staff were very polite and nice.
