Britannia Manchester Hotel
Manchester City Center,The John Rylands Library - View on map
"The hotel is really hard to locate (especially if they have the neon sign off), it gets lost in a myriad of signs for restaurants and bars that share the building. But when you finally get in, you are struck by its grandeur, it is clearly a hotel that was built to be a hotel. It's not a converted house or office block. There are lots of stairs and the lifts are rather small, but there are 2 which is just enough for people and their luggage. We were allowed to leave our bags there before check-in, the staff were very helpful in this matter. However, anything more and they charge - breakfast is £10 per person and if you want to use their LAN internet they ask for a refundable deposit of £100! Our room was a decent size, but it had a noticeable damp patch on the ceiling and holes in the bedding. The bathroom was of a decent size and stocked with a nice range of complimentary toiletries. I'd certainly use this hotel again, but book through Brittania's own site because you can get it cheaper than on here."

ibis Styles Manchester Portland
Manchester City Center,The John Rylands Library - View on map
"ibis Styles Manchester Portland is an amazing property to stay in Manchester. LOCATION: The property is located at a 10 min walking distance from the Manchester Piccadilly train station and is conveniently located on the main road. The property is surrounded by cafes, coffee shops, restaurants and convenience stores, which altogether makes it a prime location, especially for a solo traveler like. All places of interests are at a convenient walking distance of 10-20 mins from the hotel. CHECK-IN & STAY: CHECK-IN was seamlessly good. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. They explain about all the hotel amenities at the time of check-in and were kind of take care of my baggage post check out as I had time to kill before my train left and I could explore the city without having to carry my baggage. ROOMS: The rooms are colorful and bright. They have a stylish yet warm charm to them. I was given a room at the top floor and was not disappointed. OVERALL: Go for it! :)"

Britannia Sachas Hotel
Manchester City Center,The John Rylands Library - View on map
"This is s nice hotel located in central Manchester. This hotel allows pets and our dog was very comfy. Many restaurants nearby. The street car station is very near. There is a street food market nearby. Lots of great shopping nearby. The area is very busy at night with a lot of people drinking. I found this very lively area fun. We noticed a wet spot on the carpet outside of the bathroom in the evening. The next morning the wet spot had grown tremendously. Obviously a water leak. When I reported this to management theý immediately changed our room while the maintenance guy came to look. I was impressed that they changed our room without a fuss. The new room was nicer too. I highly recommend this hotel. The only downside is parking. You must park your car at a city lot which is a 7 minute walk. The fee is £10 for 24 hours which is quite reasonable for the UK. We loved Manchester. "

Cove Minshull Street

"The SACO Aparthotel is located in the Manchester Piccadilly . We take just a few minutes walk to Manchester Arndale almost every day for shopping. In the meantime, we went to Tesco Metro on the way back to the hotel. I love the accommodation of this kind because the equipped kitchen is made full use of when cooking ourselves for the kids. It costs 10 mins' walk to the Piccadilly Train Station. What's more, there is only one block distance between SACO and National Express Coach Station. Overall, I chose the great hotel with the great location. Next time, if I have a chance to go back to Manchester again, I will definitely have SACO as one of my accommodation options. Thank you for the warmest reception from the SACO team."

Holiday Inn Express Manchester City Centre

"The Holiday Inn Express is just 2-3 minutes from the Oxford station. If you are going to Manchester because of an event in the University, it is less than 10 minutes (walk) from the hotel, and it is also about 10 minutes to the city main shopping area, and slightly more than that to attractions like the Ryland library and Manchester Cathedral. We arrived at slightly after 10 and were pleasantly surprised we could check in. I had a corner room so my room was slightly bigger than the normal room, which my colleague had. However, for both rooms, the shower cubicle was big enough for two, which was a surprise for a 3-star hotel in England. The only inconvenience was no fridge, which meant I had to leave it to the last day to buy stuff like cheese."

"Great location, walking distance to both major stations and all the shops bars in Manchester. Rooms are fairly small, but really modern and well equipped with a nice bathroom too. Have stayed here a number of times and wouldn't hesitate to book again. "

Gardens Hotel
Manchester City Center,The John Rylands Library - View on map
"This is a typical travelers' hotel, with some odd turns of the hallway in an older building, but the space is well taken care of and worth the cost. I think some of the negative reviews are from people who don't travel or haven't stayed outside of expensive hotels. This one is very good for the price and the location is fabulous for Manchester. 5-minute walk to the main train station; 5 minutes from the shopping district; downtown near many of the sights, such as John Rylands Library - a ten-minute walk."

Novotel Manchester Centre Hotel
Manchester City Center,The John Rylands Library - View on map
"Stayed there for 4 nights for my trip into Manchester - the hotel is easier to find and only a short walk from Oxford Rail. Great value for money (though I did manage to book on a sale) , and with maccies/spoons next door, and more food a short walk away, best place to stay for me. Lorenzo on the front desk was extremely helpful and helped with a couple requests I had, absolutely PERFECT customer service! Rooms are the Novotel standard - spacious room, good bed, a desk and big TV to plug my laptop into. Would definitely be using the hotel next time I visit Manchester again! "
