we were staying at the macdonald for my birthday and our wedding anniversary. our room on the 3rd floor was spacious, with a huge bed, flat screen t.v. seperate bath and shower. it was clean and comfortable. location was fantastic, 5 mins walk for the station, and about 10 mins to the centre of manchester. staff were very friendly and helpful. the only downside was the...we were staying at the macdonald for my birthday and our wedding anniversary. our room on the 3rd floor was spacious, with a huge bed, flat screen t.v. seperate bath and shower. it was clean and comfortable. location was fantastic, 5 mins walk for the station, and about 10 mins to the centre of manchester. staff were very friendly and helpful. the only downside was the price of the breakfast been £15 each. although check-out was 11am so we had a leisurely coffee in our room checked out and went to debenhams for breakfast ! we would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and will be coming back next year for my 40th !!

The breakfast in the morning was beautiful and the staff were again very helpful at getting a table and tea and coffee for us. The dining room and lounge areas were clean and tidy, and well decorated. I couldn't fault this place atall. 100% consider going back if I went to Manchester again. And i fully recommend the hotel, the staff, and the food. Really enjoyed my stay.

From the outside the Britannia is a beautiful building set back from the road so you feel like you have landed in a small country escape! Inside is just as impressive with a ballroom feel about the hotel and the front desk with the exception of one clerk was very helpful. Booked this hotel due to its very reasonable price. Arrived earlier than anticipated it was no issue. The room was clean and provided everything we needed. Breakfast included in the price which was great as that doesn’t happen often and it was satisfactory especially given it was included at no extra charge. I found the Crowne Plaza Manchester, Oxford street, in every respect excellent. However, there are some minor issues that could be improved: - The breakfast could have more variety. - The restaurant could have a bigger menu. Very basic, with shared (but clean) toilets, but among the cheapest places I could find, for the date I stayed. The duvet was too narrow, but tucking the bedspread in, all around the bed, sealed it in place. The Chinese lady at reception was very pleasant, but the main benefit was the flexible check-out option - £8 an hour after the normal check-out time of 11am. After a very late night, being able to check out at 1.30pm was a godsend and the extra £24 seemed very reasonable. A few mins walk to Rusholme curry district, around 20mins walk to the University on Oxford Road, with loads of buses 2mins walk from the hotel that go down Oxford Road and into town or Piccadilly.
